May 9, 2012: 5 Night Bahamas Cruise on Disney Magic

I'm just having a hard time justifying driving an extra hour inland to drop the dog off for Best Friends and I could totally plan a little something Disney before and after but DH would kill me ;)
Plus adding an extra hour with an 8,6, and 2 year old on top of a 14 hour car ride is NOT fun... trust me.

Everyone's dresses are so pretty!

Glad to hear shorts for DS should be okay. :)

That's so funny, DH just got jury duty summons in the mail yesterday for April 16. He made some comment about how he thinks a grand jury would be interesting. I said "No way!!"

Here's today's question: Has anyone tried the The Rainforest at the spa? I heard you could get a day pass for $16 a day and wondered if it was worth is.

Thanks in advance, I promise I will run out of questions soon. I'm typing up all my packing notes and tips I've copied down from other website and keep coming up with questions. :)

Awwww all the puppy pics are so great! I should mention that I also have a chihuahua mix. I actually have papers for her, but they totally lied. She looks more like a large papillion and is fearless, and loves the rain. We say she's a ferret-mouse. XD

Sounds like Best Friends is pretty amazing -typical of Disney. Our girls (and our bird) will stay home. Our next door neighbors are great and will come feed them and spend some time with them, and a few times they take them over to their house to play with their big hound dogs.

Last night I showed DH the Redwings magnet so he has now agreed we can decorate our door! :lmao: That worked well. He said I shouldn't have told everyone he flies the A-10 and is in the AF because he always feels uncomfortable but I told him it's too late!

And Sweetpee, thanks for the intro! :) I just realized it's on the FE spreadsheet too. Duh. I blame pregnancy brain!

Good Morning fellow cruisers, it is that time of the week again!!! We now have only

tharg-8-50-trans.gif

I'll be sure to tell the old man to keep the A-10/military talk to a minimum or I'll staple his lips shut. He's a good boy. He'll behave...... or else..... pirate::rolleyes1

At least you have an excuse for brain-lapses. I blame my guys. I didn't have much to start with then they have bled my poor little thinker dry.

Oh! And I finally got the last of the FE details completed last night so I can finally shaaaaare! Here it is, my masterpiece, the Pixar Up! inspired FE of champions:

More detailed pics and explanation of how I did it can be found here. I'm really proud of it. Seriously. I think altogether I've got between 35 & 40 hours into it...all hours that were well worth the effort, too. :cutie:

Love this! We have the same policy but with a more medieval twist. If the kids can't find what they're looking for and we have to find it, and we do they get a good ol' fashion charlie horse! Nothing send a kid up the stairs to find their coat like a punch in the shoulder. That's terrible I know!
Not terrible. My kids just get a super sarcastic "REALLY??? REALLY??" :rotfl2:

It is so strange how the Air Force, AF1, and airplanes have come up on this discussion. My dd who is almost 14 is obsessed with secret service. i don't know if it is because she is studying the constitution right now or what.

Brittany - we are not doing FE but if you could bring her something from AF1 she would be so thrilled. Also, if she meets your dh she will be full of questions.....or say nothing at all, she is a teenager after all :sad2:

She also loves to fly. She has done a women in the sciences camp twice and her favorite thing has always been the aviation. Also, last year she did a camp where they went up in a small plane (not sure what kind) and she actually got to takeover the controls and she was super excited. She said there were other kids kissing the ground when they got out of these planes. That ticked her off because she would have taken their turns :rotfl:

I'll see what we have around here... I know I have M&Ms, heck, I even have a small bottle of hot sauce... Don't ask, I don't know either.

John is actually flying now (just a local) but he's on the trips coming up over the next few weeks...bring home that PERDEUM MONEY HONEY! ;)

I told him fly fly fly so we have extra money to spend!
He doesn't bring up anything military either.. it's like a when your off, your off.. but will totally talk about it if you bring it up. Sometimes I have to tell him to be quiet b/c he just goes on and on about "his trip" and I'm like, yup... I had mac and cheese out of a box for dinner and did laundry! :headache:

Are we meeting up on the ship anytime/where?

You should totally have your daughter look into the Civil Air Patrol. It's kinda like scouts but with a semi-military structure and there's flight training involved. I don't know how to explain it. When I was reading what your wrote all I could think of was those really impressive young girls we met at the local Civil Air Patrol open house we went to. Seriously!

I feel ya. I'm still in my jammies getting ready to go check the boys school work for the day and let the dog out while the old man is on his way to San Francisco for 3 days. :sad2:

Ours are a little bigger. . . .

KateshouseandSequioa011.jpg

And I think they are ready to come with us!!!

Love all the dog pictures! Are those black labs? We have a black lab names Sadie, and a black toy poodle Licorice. We've got both sizes covered, 90lbs and 7lbs. :lmao:

I have jury duty too!! -- the week before the cruise. Hoping and praying I don't get picked for a trial lasting longer than a week -- that would NOT be good!
Can you try to get out of jury duty in Taiwan?

The pics totally don't do the thing justice. I'm just not a good photographer even with a new fancy-pantsy Nikon p&s camera. LOL! That thing has a lot of different tecniques and applications put into it: sewing, sketching, painting, coloring, & crafting. All to get around the fact that I don't have an embroidery machine and nobody around here will do anything that resembles anything Disney-esque. LOL! It as fun and the result is true love. :D

I'm not sure. :scratchin For some reason I thought we were

Crap. Yes, there's a meet-up on embarkation day but I forget the time & place. Someone refresh the fried brains and I promise to pop it into my calendar on my phone. :surfweb:

I got all the kids FE gifts done today! Now to work on the adults.

I made a huge jump in 1 of my FE gifts today. With the old man gone to San Francisco I'm going to try & work on some others more. I still have to get this house clean before Monday, when I leave to go out of town.

My washing machine is still broken with no end in sight. We have a home warranty thru American Home Shield and, as nice as it is to know you'll only be out $60 no matter what the problem is or if the appliance has to be replaced, I don't think their repair people are the best of the best by far. The guy sounded totally annoyed when he set up a time to come to the house...like "Oh geeeez, yeah, I guuuueeesss I can drive all the way down your way tomorrow...". Then when he was here he hardly spoke a word, didn't tell me what was up, was very vague when I asked, and was in no way even remotely specific in indicating how long the ordered part will take or how long I'll be without my washing machine. I think maybe men just don't understand getting behind with laundry. Grrrrr!!! I guess tomorrow morning another visit to the stinkin' washateria is on the agenda.

Oh! I can show off our baby girl, too!

My Riley Belle:

Gettin' her school on with Chandler last year:

This is hysterical! Click this picture to see what Riley thinks of my niece's Justin Bieber cutout a few Christmases ago. I don't think we have to worry about Riley having Bieber Fever:

Oh my gosh, this is gorgeous! I just finally broke down and bought one from Etsy, for more money than I wanted to spend, but there's just no way I can make one. I asked my one sewing friend but she's super busy right now so... bleh. Yours is so unique and amazing! I'm totally impressed.

I agree with Kelly - Civil Air Patrol! DH was in it when he was younger and actually took his first solo flight the same day he got his driver's license. I don't think they fly themselves in CAP - his dad was in instructor - but it's great for character building and stuff too!

We are meeting at the Promenade Lounge at 3pm on the first day!

I can't believe your washer is still broken. Since you did laundry twice on a 3 day cruise I bet you are losing your mind! I hate when repair people are so unhelpful. I know their job is to fix things, not make friends but... seriously.

And Riley really is a Belle! She's SO CUTE!

Edited to add: That video is /hilarious/. My son keeps making me play it over and over and now he wants to know if you will bring her on the "Mickey ship". ;) I am just glad the JB cutout doesn't belong to YOU.

Loved seeing everyone's dogs. So cute. I will have to sneak one of mine.

Update: I have booked All Star Music with DP so much easier to budget that way :rotfl: on May 7th Checking out May8th. Annual pass discount was something like 20 or 25% at this resort.

So on May 7th We will be hitting MK followed by Epcot possible Garden Grill for Dinner (Love some Chip and Dale). Already have it booked tentatively.

May 8th half day at Hollywood Studios then go to Residence Inn by the port for our free night :cool1:

No shore excursions or Spa treatments. Just winging it at ports. And Palo Brunch for at sea day.

Then trip home.

Already found someone to come by the house and check on my dog and let her out and check on the house. So my precious fur baby gets to relax at home while we are away. :goodvibes

Have been working on ideas for FE and think I know what I want to do

Off topic: Sorry have not been posting as much just submitted a design for a t-shirt design contest for a band I love. Hoping I win it would mean so much to me. I got 20 votes so far and am in the top 50 :thumbsup2: Crossing fingers for that to come through, the prize is awesome.

CUTE DOOGIES!!!!! We have a mini labradoodle named Lizzie. She has has the same exact brain as the dog on up... no lie. She's my best friend, follows me everywhere... especially when John's gone.
