May 3rd-10th****Dis Maytees-May Magic send off

Emiel and Yvet,

Welcome to the group. Some of us met last April on a 4 night Wonder cruise and others here are new friends.

We are Linda and Lisa and are traveling with 4 of our friends, some of whom have never cruised before.

We are just shopping ( and drinking and eating ) in Key West. On Grand Cayman we are going a private 5 hour boat charter which includes Stingray City, a starfish beach, the mangrove sanctuary, snorkeling on a barrier reef, lunch at a Beach Club and tubing on the way back to the port.

On Cozumel we are doing the Dolphin Royal Swim.

We plan on having as many meals in Palo as humanly possible. For the other meals we will have late seating.

On Castaway Cay we may parasail if we can afford it.

All of us are looking forward to lots of rest relaxation and as many fruity drinks as we can afford.

Hope to meet you onboard and get to know you on these boards before we sail.

Dawn, Fiona is going through a phase where she refuses to wear anything but skirts and dresses. Do they grow out of it? I noticed your daughter was dressed in a skirt in one picture and a dress in the other picture. Is she the same way?

Thanks in advance!
Brandie

Hey, everyone! I'll need to go back & read this whole thread, but I just wanted to say we're going on the May 3rd cruise!

I will be 36 at the time of sailing (as will be my hubby) & our daughter will be 3 1/2. It will be our third cruise, but first since we had a child, & it will be our first DCL cruise. We're excited to be hanging out with you guys!

Heather

To Heather: Welcome aboard Heather. I noticed the numbers in your name, is that your zip? Cause if it is, we are neighbors.

To All: I am anxious to start planning this cruise. I got my passporter and am starting to make some decisions, but really can't do much till we have it paid in full.

We gotta come up with a cruise nickname and plan a dis meet. Any ideas??

Hi My name is Staci, new to this forum...We are going on the 7 Day Cruise to St marteen, St Thomas/St John and Disney's Private Island..We are going April 26th-May 3rd...for my ds's 13th birthday and our 19th wedding anniversary...

And this is our 1st Cruise...

Yeah, I'm in Mill Creek. You're on this sailing as well? How funny!!

Wow, small world. I am in Pioneer Trails so we are only a couple of miles apart. We are flying down on Friday on the nonstop Alaska flight. We are staying at an airport hotel Thurs. night just so we don't have to get up at 3 am to get to the airport on time.

Look forward to meeting a fellow Washingtonian.:thumbsup2

Is your cruise the week before this Western? We're hitting Grand Cayman, Key West, and Cozumel...

If so, dontya want to come over to our cruise? *twinkling eyes* As Linda and Dawn told me, it's cheaper! :thumbsup2 *grin* Cooooome on, ya know you want to! :rotfl:

Heather, welcome! My DD will be 3 when we cruise too. :thumbsup2 Fiona had a blast on her cruise when she was 2, so I hope when she goes back to "her boat" (as she calls it) she'll have more fun without a sprinkler. Kid had Snow White come play with her personally in Flounders last time, so there's a high bar for this coming cruise! :rotfl:

Re: the DISmeet... do we want to repeat the 3 pm meet, or do you want to do a Sea Day meet this time (Dawn and Linda--that is, the FIRST Sea Day, whenever that falls! :rotfl: ) and hope that more people can participate? Or do you want to do 2 meets this time, so we can give people a choice of which to attend? I know DH and DD were crashed out in a nap while I went to the 3 pm meet last cruise.

I haven't booked it yet, but I was on Alaska Air last night looking at flights. Are you doing the 8:30 one that gets in to Orlando at 5pm? That's the one I think we're gonna do. Which hotel are you staying at? Also, I think we are going to rent a car to get to the terminal. We're also likely gonna fly out on the 10th at 6pm, which gets back into Seatac around 9ish. Both will be looong days, but direct is the only way to go & there aren't many options!

I don't relish the idea of getting my 3 year old to SeaTac by 6:30 am on Friday, but what can ya do?! :confused3

I'm all for a meetup on board! A ship day would be better, for sure. Maybe two...who knows? I'll likely have some fruity drink with rum in my hands at all times, so I should be up for fun whenever! :woohoo:

I dunno...I think the 3pm might be a good time. If we meet right at the start, it's more time to make friends (especially for the little ones) and have people to hang out with.

I'm definitely up for more than one meet!

Meeting on the first day allows us all to get to know one another at the start of the cruise. Meeting again later on would be fun too. I say 2 meets, one on the first day for the "getting to know you" stuff and then one on the first sea day have the "getting to know you BETTER" meet.

3 p.m. on embarkation day worked and so did the promenade lounge. What does everyone think?

Hi,

Yes that is the flight we are on. We are staying at the Springhilll Suites in S. Renton the night before and then we are staying at the Fairfield Orlando Airport the night before the cruise. However, my dh keeps trying to find better deals so things have been changing. We will stay at an Orlando airport hotel no matter what. He is looking at the Wyndam Wyngate since it is cheaper.

Right now we have a town car booked to take us to the port. We decided not to rent a car and mess with all the hassles it entailed. If you want to coordinate ressies and split a limo, let me know.

Anytime for a meet is okay with me.

This sounds good to me. And that way, folks who can't or don't want to make the 3 pm emarkation day meet could still meet up with everyone two days later!

Hi,
We 3 shall be sailing on May 3rd as well. DW 40's , DH (me) 40's, & DD turns 13 on Castaway Cay. This will be our..... gulp.... 4th time. Once on the Wonder, 1 Magic Eastern, 1 Magic Western, and now a 2nd time on the Western.

By the way, anyone wondering about Castaway Cay club numbers.... We are Canadians and we had to phone Disney years ago to get ours. then we just pass it on to who ever we book through.

4 times? Wow...Not sure I could convince DH about that! :) I got a mail from Disney with my castaway club cards, but I had rebooked onboard so didn't really need them.

Welcome!

Jennifer, maybe we could share a limo or something. I know they really aren't as expensive as people think. But what about luggage? Hhmmmm.....I need to do some more research. Oh yeah...& figure out where we're staying Friday night!

We stay at the Radisson...it's about $129 ($149 if you leave your car there) per night and they shuttle you to the port and pick you up too...

We're staying at the Country Inn and Suites. We got $159 for a KidsQuarters suite which has a separate area for the kids with bunk beds and their own tv and the Family Book Break Package which includes breakfast and a backpack full of fun stuff for the kid(s)!
