May 3rd-10th****Dis Maytees-May Magic send off

The dolphin excursions in the Bahamas was AWESOME...I have to imagine the one in Cozumel is good too...Just still nervous about the kids being freaked out by them so we're gonna hold off on that...ditto on the stingrays.

Dawn

Well for Key West I think we will just tour on our own and maybe the butterflies and aquarium. For Grand Cayman, definitely Stingray City. This is the only excursion we are really planning. Plus my parents will be with us and this is what my mom wants to do. Not sure about Cozumel yet. My dh wants me to keep costs down so a beach day is fine with me. He just gets bored with beaches though. Still planning.

I also wanted to get on and share some fun news with you all. I get to have a Disney fix over Christmas vacation!! :cool1: Woohoo! My parents are giving us a large chunk of change to help pay for plane tickets to come see them in Arizona for the holidays. Well we just couldn't find a reasonable fare from Seattle to Tucson, so we are flying into LAX and driving to Tucson. Which means a stop at DL. My aunt lives very close to DL so we are staying with her at both ends of the trip. We plan on being at DL for New Years Eve since we fly home on the 1st. My kids and dh have never seen Disney dressed up for the holidays so I can't wait to share it with them.

We have booked the Windham Wyngate hotel near MCO for the night before the cruise and have Happy Limo booked to take us to the port. We were wondering if anyone wants to share the limo with us and we can upgrade to a larger car? We have a Sat. 9:00 am pick up time with a grocery stop booked. There are 4 of us and a stretch limo holds up to 8 people and is $330 RT. There are larger cars available if necessary. We do have to keep in mind the luggage amounts that are available per car too. Just thought it would be fun to share. Let me know if you are interested. :goodvibes

What a nice idea...thanks for thinking of us...I am still not sure when we're coming down. We have a 'free' day in magic Kingdom and it's undecided whether we'll do that on 5/2 or 5/11...Either way though, we'll be staying in Cape Canaveral the night before so we can get to the port bright and early. Last year, we were there when it opened, got boarding #2 and were among the first on the ship...Plan for it to be that way again. :cool1:

We have decided to drive down and are looking at the Residence Inn in Cocoa Beach for the night before. We too plan on being at the Port as soon as it opens. Dawn, I think Lisa and I were right behind you last year. I remember seeing you and the kids and then meeting you later at the meet. We also had a number 2 boarding pass and intend on doing it again.

Our friends are getting really excited and so are we. It will be here before we all know it.

Linda

......we will be pulling in to Key West!!!!!!!

I can't believe that it is getting so close! It will be here before we know it.

Linda

I can't believe it's six months; I am so psyched!! Did we ever decide on a day/time/place for our meet? I was all for the earlier the better, especially for the little ones. DS, who turns 5 a week from today, would love to meet some friends he can seek out in the OC. I know for me, it provides greater incentive to leave him somewhere when I can remind him of a friend he can play with.

I was thinking we had decided 3 pm in the Promenade Lounge before the Safety Drill? Does that sound correct?

Brandie

Hi all,

I think 3 in the Promenade Lounge is fine.

I also wanted to come back and "take back" my offer of sharing a limo. We changed our ressies to the Radisson at the Port and will rent a car and drive there the night before. I had read about this hotel and we decided it looked very nice. Plus, it is less $$ than the hotel at the airport and renting a limo. We have changed our plans 3 times, but this one has a cancellation fee, so we are sticking to it this time.:thumbsup2

That's where we're staying the night before...it's a little small, but it serves its purpose and there's a shuttle to take you to the port that morning (that you have to reserve a couple weeks in advance).

I didn't know this. Thanks for letting me know.

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are booked for the May 8 cruise as well. AlexandNessa my birthday is may 10 so I will be celebrating with what looks to be a lot of Taurus' How fun. My wife and I just completed the Mediterranean cruise on the Magic. That was a very exciting trip, so much to see. We also decided to buy into the Disney Vacation Club on the ship, it was a bargain too good to pass up. So we are using our points to do a Western Caribbean cruise and after that 7 nights in Disney World, woo hoo!

imgraciesmom, you are going to love Disney Cruisin' It's so magical (forgive the pun). From the first cruise in 2004 on the Wonder, I'm hooked on Disney. It's hard to be bored on a Disney Cruise. So welcome!

Ditto for us! :goodvibes Actually, our anniversary is in August, but it will be 3 years for us next year as well. No souvies planned for us either. ;)

The more and more I read the more and more you sound like us. Your b-day is in May, as is mine. Your wedding anniversary is in August, as is ours, August 16, we will be celebrating 3 years being married...:scared1: Crazy!!!

Thank you for the welcome!!:) We can't wait for the cruise. I wish we were cruising next week. It has turned cold here in Michigan. My DD7 can't stand to wear socks or a winter coat so getting out the door to school without a meltdown has yet to happen! :headache: I am sooooo hooked on this board. I have learned so much from everyone. Thanks!!:yay:

Hey there! May 1 is my B-day and August 20 is our anniversary. :goodvibes Although I am pretty sure I have a healthy amount of years on you.

Now, if you're really like us, your sail away drink will be a beer bucket. :rolleyes1

Have a great turkey day everyone!! I know I'm thankful that we have only 5 1/2 more months to go  Tomorrow, I'm bringing DS to see Playhouse Disney Live! on tour, so I'll let ya'll know how it is. I'm also fixing to buy some Doodlebops tickets (his latest obsession).

Enjoy lots of good food, friends, and family today, and I'll see you soon!

;)

Hi Everyone,

I started the other thread but decided to hop over here to meet all of you:)
I am Heather I have DH Bill and a 11 Year old Morgan and a 5 year old Jake.
This is our second Western Disney cruise....We last May 06 as well.
The weather in May is PERFECT and the water was very calm.

Does anyone have a 11 year old girl who would like a pen pal. I did this last time and it worked out great for my dd because she had two friends when she got on board. I also have a 5 year old ds so Iwould have to help him with penpalling...LOL If interested send me a private email and we can exchange address. They could email as well but there is something cool about doing it the old fashioned way:hippie:

I have not booked excursions as of yet BUT last time we LOVED the stingrays at GC. The good thing about the Western is you can really book all the things on your own and save the money. When we went to Cozumel last time we went to San Francisco Beach (took a cab) and it was $7 a day for all there amenities. It was a wonderful beach day.

Key West is just great to walk around and we did do a tour which my kids HATED> Jake fell asleep and my dd complained how hot and boring it waws...KIDS:mad:

CC we put the kids in camp and went to the adult beach...it was heaven..

Right now I am looking for good deals on flights...any tips? I am leaving from the wonderful state of NJ.

Heather

Heya.... Anybody else starting to get antsy?

It snowed here yesterday, and I keep thinking of warm beaches and food I don't have to cook! :rotfl:

imheather, to fix your signature so it will display, you just need to add a starting bracket before the URL.

I should probably start looking at hotels and rental cars. It's just so hard to make those plans knowing how far away this cruise is!!!

*wave*
Brandie

thanks Brandy but I have given up on trying to fix my time line. I do not even remember how to get to it to change it..

We are getting a ice storm in NJ and I can not wait until May:)

Hi everyone! You know it's getting close when you receive your "Welcome back aboard" packet with when your final payment dates are and what your shore excursion options are! Just got ours yesterday. :goodvibes

Does anyone know when Pirate Night will be? Mike and I missed it our last cruise as we had Palo reservations that night, and we don't want to miss it this cruise. The menu for Pirate Night looked very good. I tried to do a search earlier on when it would be, and it just didn't work for me. Is it usually Castaway Cay day? I would HATE to book Palo again that night.

Hope everyone is well and had a great Thanksgiving. Now, if only I could manage to get this holiday shopping done! I say "holiday" because our family is one big mix of religions by marriage and otherwise. I don't think there are many of us who married within our religion. ;) So, Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy Kwansa, or as we say in my family: Happy Christmakuh. :goodvibes
