May 28, 2005 Mexican Riviera

Sue...congrats on hitting your mark! That is so awesome! FYI...I found great deals on formal gowns in all size ranges at Ross the other day since it is PROM time everywhere...lots were already in the clearance section. I bought my formal for the cruise there for only $12!

Enchanted Playroom - please do not type in the lime green. It is very hard to see and read.

LiserAnn - Long Beach will not get you any sight of the Magic. The ship will be leaving from San Pedro.

suesings - I am only bringing one nice black dress for both formal and semi-formal nights. The Man will also only bring one nice suit and the boys will either have a suit or a nice pair of black pants and a "dress" shirt. We did buy some pirate wear but nothing fancy.

Wow Chris, $12 gown??? I'd better try to check out Ross!!

I was reading another thread today that said there were only a couple people dressed for Pirate night on some recent cruises. One person even said their husband was embarrassed and wanted to kill her for having them dresed up. I'm thinking I will bring bandanas or pirate hats for us but maybe not full outfits?? Thoughts?? Mark would probably be embarrassed if he were the only husband dressed as a pirate :rotfl:

Grammiegail, I've been hitting the gym 1-2 days a week and just hit the 50 lb. loss mark (since January 2004)!!

Sue, congrats on the weight loss and the gym!!!!!! I'm doing well in the exercise column....about 40 minutes a day M-F (with a couple of slips). I've also been pretty good with sticking to my points. Down 7 pounds, but have been stuck for over 2 weeks! I'm going nuts! But, hey, 7 pounds is way better than no pounds and the exercise has really helped with the way clothes fit.

PS - About the fancy duds......I have a couple of beaded tops you can borrow. If you are interested, PM me and we can discuss color, etc.

Wait!!!! What happened to the lime green leisure suit???? I am going to be soooooo disappointed if it doesn't make it into the suitcase!

:goodvibes I knew that! I was just speaking in general terms since LB is the bigger area of the two...so, what time does the ship leave? Since we haven't gotten our docs yet, we have no idea and we'd like to watch the ship sail, so to speak. Thanks!

Hi Liser Ann!

What a festive idea to see the Magic depart on the first trip. I'll wave to you from Deck 5!

Our docs indicate the "departs" time is 4:00 p.m. I'm not sure if this is an 'all aboard' time or if it is the actual set sail time.

Whoa whoa whoa! I leave the board for 5 minutes and people are trying to mutiny! Don't be embarrased about Pirate night. Arrrrr party has purchased hooks, swords, bandanas, WIGS for arrrr HUSBANDS!!!, mustaches, hats...all out. We're "putting together" the pirate clothes rather than buy a whole $40-$200 "costume" from a shop. But we arrrrrrr going all out with the accesories.

And arrrrrrr party is also getting dressed to impress for formal night. Ball gowns and tuxes. Sequins, beads, FEATHERS!!!!

Don't back out on me now. Arrrrrr. ARRRRRRRRR!!! pirate: :grouphug:

Plus, has anyone checked their local Thrift Store? We found some great pirate clothes there. Flowey "wench" type skirts for the girls, over sized shirts that can be worn piratey if you hang them off your sholder right, HUGE belts, black pants for guys. They have great stuff if you just use your imagination! :wizard:

:wave2: Hi May 28th cruisers!
What time do y'all set sail on the 28th? I'm from the July 30th thread and a group of us are planning to gather with the kids at Long Beach to see the first Magic sailing!!!! :cool1: We thought that would be fun to hype the kids (not to mention ourselves) up before our trip and give you guys a good send off! But we need to know when you all leave the port!

Thanks a bunch!

Lisa :teeth:
Some of us from the July 9th sailing will also be there to see you off on the 28th. I think we are meeting at the Acapulco restaurant but this also looks like a great place to view the ship - http://www.portoflosangeles.org/community_promendade.htm.

:wizard: PIXIE Dust ON all of you to get you motivated.

Grammie, Why do you assume my good suit is not the leisure suit? I just might be the king of the doublewide trailers :) I was goofing about the suit and the way everyone is going green crazy. I'll need to lose 30lbs to be able to dance to Staying Alive with the mean green dancing machine. Gail and I will be wearing pirate stuff, I am disappointed I didn't buy the Capt. Hook costume on clearence on the disney site last December. I did buy a great cow costume I wear to work every now and again.
BEER update, I have move the golden brew to the secondary fermenter and now its aging to perfection!! It looks like it will be about 14 proof so its a ESB. Not for wimps I assure you.
The Man

WOW...hard to believe that in two weeks, we'll be in DL visiting the mouse! YEA!

As far as piratey night...our crew has the following: a loaner costume for the shortest one (emily-5), a bandana for the next kiddo (10) and searching for a shirt (is about as far as he will go), a "wenchy" dress for grammie, a "wenchy" top for me and possibly a "pirate night" skull/crossbone shirt for gramps. I've been everywhere in our small town and not found eye patches or bandanas that are piratey (but some great lime green ones!). I'm still searching though!

Hidden Mickey Time!
Hidden Mickey #10:
While you watch the colors change, look for the brushes that make it happen and you will find a mouse nearby!

Challada, if you would like some patches and red bandanas, I will gladly get some for you guys. Just tell me how many you need. Anything else? We have a store with pirate guns, swords, knives, ball and chain, and shanks. Ask and ye shall recieve. :wizard:

PLUS... Anyone going to DL BEFORE the cruise can visit the Pirate shop just outside of Pirates of the Carribean ... there you will find HOOKS, Swords, Jewlery, Eye Patches, Scarves, T-shirts, HATS... Hats WITH Hair... ALL kinds of cool stuff!

And I just realized, Firsttimers, aren't you guys leaving this weekend!?!?!? :cool1: Oh man! I'd be SO EXCITED if I were yall. I wouldn't be able to sleep. :rotfl2: <--tossing and turning in bed.

I can just see all of us GLUED to the boards waiting to see if you guys post anything from the trip. :earseek:
