May 28, 2005 Mexican Riviera

I found this on another Cruise page. This is neat. These people took 400 pictures and posted them on this web page. They just got back frmo the 4/23 cruise on the Magic. They have the pictures separated by days, or you can click on "Highlights" and see the best of the photos. I'm barley on day 2 right now. But they're cute pictures.

On day 3 they have pictuers of the brunch at Palo. The watermelon has the words "Disney Magic" carved into it.
Just ignore my spelling and type-o's.

What's everyone doing with excursions?

We signed up for the following:

PV - Tropical Jungle Paradise Expedition
Mazatlan - Stone Island Beach Adventure
Cabo - Harbor Cruise and Scenic Drive

However, we are also considering spending more time on the ship to enjoy, and venturing out on our own on these ports for just a couple of hours. If so, we may end up cancelling these reservations.

DW wanted to do the Canopy Adventure in the morning, but all those slots were already sold out.

Decisions, decisions. :confused3

Wow, this board has been busy!!!

No worries, I'm dressing up for Pirate night!! I'm not bailing. I LOVE Halloween and don't usually care what anyone thinks. My husband isn't a huge costume guy but I'll talk him into it (at least a hat and eyepatch). It sounds like there are quite a few of us who will be dressed so it should be fun!!

Chris, I'll take a couple of Tatoos if you have some extra and an eyepatch for Mark?

Gail - I think I'm going to go out and try to find an inexpensive left over Prom Dress :rotfl2: for this old gal!! I've been out of high school for a long time but I'm hoping with my 50 lbs weight loss I can pull off a prom dress now :rotfl: But thank you so much for your offer to borrow your dressy tops. You are so sweet and thoughtful!!

Today I have printed out the photos I received of the girls to show Kelly and I've written their names and ages on them (and parents names) to help ME remember everyone. I have a photo of Vanessa and Hannah, Grace, Mattie, & Emily. Did anyone else send me a photo? I hope I didn't forget anybody?

Oh, regarding Excursions. We have booked:

Puerto Vallarta - Paradise Beach Adventure (12:40-4:40 PM)

Mazatlan - Stone Island Beach Adventure (9:30-2:30)

Cabo - having lunch in town (we have been there numerous times - even Kelly has been there)

Anyone on the same excursion/times as us?

Sue...I'll keep some tatoos and eyepatches for you guys. We are definitely costuming pirate night as a girlfriend of mine just gave me a couple of great kids costumes!

I think I'll print the girls pics as well...what a good idea since I'm still confused until I see everyone in person!

Here's the kids pics I've printed to make a book for my kids to get to know their friends:

Sarah & Katie
Mattie & Sammy
Kelly & Ava
Grace
Toby & Tyler
Zachary
Vanessa & Hannah

Please pm me if I've forgotten anyone and I can email you pics of my kids...you can email me pics of yours.

We are looking so forward to meeting everyone!
Chris

1,000 posts OMG! I haven't been on for 7hrs and I had to read through several pages.

Kate & I will be wearing a dressy dresses for formal night. Bob and Brett will be wearing dark suits.

I use those space saver bags from Target. All you have to do is roll them to get the air out of the bag. They save lots of space in your suitcase.

I'm starting to get excited about the trip again. Sammy has had 4 good days in a row. He's actually playing outside and riding his bike again. His feeling better is the best gift I've ever received for Mother's Day or any day for that matter. Of course, the pack of gum Sammy gave me was nice too. :)

All that my kids remember from Mother's Day though is that the car in front of us hit a squirrel. Mark and I were hoping that the kids didn't see but they did.
Now all we talk about is that poor little squirrel, death, getting hit by cars, etc. I thought that Mattie would likely share the event during share time on Monday but instead she just told some friends. The last time she shared, she said her brother was in the ICU and had to go in an ambulance. A few weeks before that, she shared that our next door neighbor had just died. We have had a tough month. I have really appreciated all of your prositive thoughts, words, and prayers.

As for excursions, we are signed up for

PV - 12:40 Paradise Beach Adventure (Has anybody heard if this is going to go? I've been meaning to call Disney. It's still showing up on my reservation but I'm a bit doubtful it will go.)
Mazatlan - We're doing Randi's Happy Horses in the AM and a private tour in the PM
Cabo - We're going to walk around town on our own in the morning. In the afternoon, we'll leave the kids on the ship while we do the Land's End Coastal tour. I think it leaves at 1:15.

Carrie - what do you mean?? Have you heard something??

528 cruiser,

We decided to go the route of going on our own at the ports. We do have plans for each day, though:

Puerto Vallarta - we booked a morning of massages at the Krystal Hotel Resort which is a short walk from the pier. We have a couples massage first. Then I've booked a deluxe facial. I imagine we will stay at the Krystal for lunch and an afternoon by their pool.

Mazatlan - We may be skipping this port and stay onboard. I would like to see what the ship is like on a port day. It depends on how hearty we both feel. My hubby is going in for an angiogram this Friday. If all goes well and we can continue this trip, then we might want to take it a little easy and not do three ports in a row.

Cabo - I think the water taxi to Mendano Beach is what we will do here and then try one of the resorts there for lunch and a day at the oceanside.

The rest of you have such exciting excursions arranged! I hope there will be lots of trip reports so I can see how much fun you had while I was napping. :teeth:

Carrie-
I was JUST looking at Sammy's picture that I printed for Emily's book of the kids and saying a little prayer for him...so glad to hear that he is doing better. Mattie sounds like a wise and caring soul...I will say a little prayer for her as well! Tell Mattie and Sammy we will have piratey tatoos for them too!

How many kids are planning on doing the pirate party? Will all our Dis-kids plan to attend?

Moley-We will be thinking of your hubby's angio...and saying a little prayer for him!

Moley- Oh my gosh! An angiogram on Friday! I'm so sorry you are having such a scare. Definitely take it easy on the cruise. The deck chairs have your names on them! Here's some pixie dust for your hubby!:wizard:

Carrie- I hope we can meet, 'cause I feel the need to give you a hug. It's weird how bad things happen in clumps. And it is a bummer to have to discuss death with such young hearts. I wish they could be innocent for a while longer. Since our dog Sassy died, now Grace will on occasion get teary at bedtime and say she wishes I didn't have to die and she wishes that no one had to die. Very, very sad to see their perfect, happy little world shattered by the reality. They are so sweet too the way they care for all living creatures...even a random squirrel. Well, at least you can probably be sure they'll be careful crossing a street! Funny about the share thing at school. I too, thought Grace would mention Sassy's passing at share, but she shared the "awful" owwie she got scootering and just confided in her friends during recess about Sassy. Her teacher had had a speech about going up to heaven and all that prepared, but was unprepared to discuss the perils of scootering without kneepads!
Sammy will continue to get better... I just know it! I'm so glad he is doing well. Those breakthroughs are great.....and I'm sure the gum is very delicious!
I can't remember if you are one of the "champagne gals", ( I know SueSings, myself and I think Jedisan? are) but when we get together on the cruise we'll have to pop open a bottle in honor of Sammy's good health and recovery.

:goodvibes Margaret

We only have 1 excursion booked. The dolphin encounter for kids in P.V (the 9am...yikes!?). The other ports we'll just wing it and see how we feel.:sunny:

Wow Ron (Legal)....whose teeth did you pull to get the info on our nights? Seems like we are in daily contact w/the disney folks and keep getting the "I dunno"....now where to find piratey things???? Or is ANYONE dressing up for pirate night as a pirate?

Well, actually some of the upper level planning folks had the memo in their "IN" box for a few days (maybe longer) but they get such mass amounts of memos that no one knew they had it until I talked to a certain someone there who actully dug through the pile and found it... LOL... :rotfl2:

As far as Pirate night goes... I am the big geek who will be decked out pirate style! pirate: I was dressed up last cruise and I got dragged on stage for the show...

I am REALLY looking forward to seeeing you all there! We have 2nd seating with LAP rotation... I usually get table 67, 68 or 69... Anyone with us? :wave2:

BTW, I went to DL last weekend, what a GREAT fireworks show!! One of the best I have EVER seen! I spent WAY TOO MUCH on 50th aniversary stuff though! :-( :confused3

MOM-
I've got us covered for pirate night...please return your eyepatches as I just bought 48 of them thru oriental trading! I've got a dress for you, a blouse for me, a pirate outfit for Emi and hopefully a "pirate night" shirt for dad (ebay..closes next hour). pirate:

Cool!!!!! I actually stopped by Goodwill on the way home from work and found pants from grampa and some other stuff. We can talk over the weekend. If grampa's ankle holds out (he's complaining about some twinges), we will be walking in the Bay to Breakers on Sunday. Everyone think good thoughts for him because it's either gout acting up or a case of cold feet from thinking about walking up the Hayes Street Hill. While I will be disappointed if it's cold feet, it sure is preferable to gout messing up the vacation!!! Either way, we will be home Saturday night or on our cells during the day.

Don't forget about this ol' gal for champagne! I'll be honored to toast Sammy's and Moley's hubbie's continued good health and recovery. I'll even share.......hysterectomy or gall bladder surgery? You pick!

Hi, how do you know your dining rotation already?? Should I know mine already? :rotfl: I thought we find that out once we board? I am still waitlisted for early seating.

Yea, I finally found out where I put this. We are on the May 28, first West Coast cruise too. This is DH and my 2nd cruise ever. But we are bring DD who will turn 21 on the cruise , DD-18, DS-15, DS-12 soon to be 13, and Grandma and Grandpa too. My kids and my parents have never cruised before and I am so excited. My Dad has parkinsons disease, so he is a bit shakey, and my mom has had knee replacement surgery, they will be 80 in Oct, and Nov, but I am so excited to be bringing them. 2 married daughters with kids can't come and boy oh boy are they bummed. So glad this is West Coast, we have never been able to afford airfare out to FL, and then take the cruise. I look forward to meeting you guys, I read your names quite a bit. I don't have pirate clothes yet, I don't think anyone else will dress up but me, but I can't wait. Do we meet any place special when we get on the ship??? Look forward to seeing all of you. Yea, it is has been a year in coming, I booked last May 6, 2004 and now, it is almost here. :Pinkbounc  :cheer2:

Welcome aboard MinnieMoms! Glad to have you. Okay, we're meeting at 3pm on the first day at Scoops :mickeybar , the ice cream shop on deck 9 (I think). But that is mostly for all the kids to meet. Later that night my group will be having a meeting party in our suite...which I can't remember the # of right now. We were going to make it Pirate themed, in case Disney changed Pirate night to something else, in honor of the West coast cruise. That way, we'd all still get to wear the pirate gear we bought. You guys are more than welcome to attend. Were going to hold it later in the evening I think. After the saftey drill and sail away party.

And my goodness! Everyone is in some dire need of Pixie Dust.
:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
I will be praying for and thinking of EVERYONE on this board.

Carriep1657-How cute is that pack of gum!! I almost died when I read that. Sounds like you have some sweet, precious children. I hope that the rest of the month gets better for you.

Grammiegail - I will pray for your husbands ankle too. I really hope he's feeling all better by cruise time. Although, it sounds a little suspicious. Ever see that episode of "Everybody loves Raymond"? Ray and Robert bought the parents a cruise for the mom's birthday. At the last minute the dad faked a knee injury so he wouldn't have to go, forcing Raymond to step up and take his place. Let's just hope yours is faking too. (I'm just kidding you know. :) I really do hope he gets better) I'd love for him to get better and dance on the cruise like this... :dancer:

And, I swear I'm lame, what is LAP rotation?
