You capitalized THE ELECTRIC PARADE!!!! Oh, my gosh! That is absolutely my favorite! Once, during my daily call to DCL to see if there are dolphin swim cancelations, I asked to be put back on hold because the parade music had just started. :rotfl2:

Too funny! :rotfl:

I love the music too, except I can't get it out of my head for at least a week after I hear it. Similar to "It's a Small World".

Many years ago a friend of mine used the Electric Parade music during the wedding reception when the wedding party was introduced as they paraded through the banquet hall.

They will be having the same celebration for 18 months. And I cannot imagine that Tinkerbell would ever go back to her old way of flying. It's too beautiful. I didn't ride the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, because I have been on the Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin in Florida, and they are the same thing. There may or may not be minor changes, but for me it wasn't worth the 2 hour wait to find out. Just as The Hollywood Tower of Terror is the same "basic" ride in California and Florida, there are differences. I'd say the Fla one is better. I have a cast member friend and I'll ask him if he's been on the Buzz out here and if it's any different.

Okay, here's what I love about the Electric Parade clip in the new fireworks show. They used the old soundtrack. Since the Electric parade has been moved to DCA, it is no longer announced in the computer sounding voice as "The Main Street Electrical Parade" (which gives me goosebumps just typing!). It is the same voice but it says "Disney's Electrical Parade" and although it is still wonderful, it just isn't the same. And in the fireworks last night it was the same voice from my childhood saying "The Main Street Electrical Parade". That just ripped my heart out of my chest. Because that's the way it should be!

I absolutely love that parade. I love that every single time I see it, after the lights dim and you get your first glimpse of the Blue Fairy coming down Main Street, everyone says "Oooooooooh". And the whole beginning of the song is so upbeat and cheery that again, every time, it almost commands everyone to clap along to the beat, and they always happily do so. I love that people from all different walks of life, people who may on any other day may not even speak to each other because of their differences, all come together and can get so much joy and wonder from the same thing. Some may think I talk it up to much, but I can't help it. It just rips me apart every single time. :wizard:

Oh, yeah! Grammiegail is going to lose it! I lost it just ready your description!!! :rotfl: I think we may have been separated at birth (well, except that I'm way older than you!) But, I think I see another link between us. You capitalized THE ELECTRIC PARADE!!!! Oh, my gosh! That is absolutely my favorite!

GrammieGail.... I think you may actually be MY younger twin... (I may be a year or two older) I was also hysterical during the fireworks show. It was so beautiful and just reading Brandy's description brought it all back to me and I'm grabbing for my kleenex again. I know this is going to be a weepy cruise. ...AND on the subject of THE ELECTRIC PARADE, ...when they took the electric parade out of Disneyland, I know I was the first one to write to let them know of my displeasure. I was thrilled to learn that they were only moving it to DCA. THANK GOD for that. I love it. Can't wait to meet you to see if my mom has been keeping you a secret from me for all these years! :hyper2:

Ahoy mates! Just got my pirate stuff I ordered yesterday (so fast!) and just wanted to let you all know the lime-ish green pirate button magnet is small (about 1 inch), but it'll still look cute on the cabin door on pirate night, but if anyone orders any, you may want to get more than one.
The pirate hats that are trimmed in lime green are cardboard/paper, but fit good and are very cute and only .99!
Maybe we should all be lime green pirates!!:rotfl2: :bounce: ::yes:: pirate:

Sam and I got our passports in the mail today! Yippee! It makes it really real that we're going on a Big Trip. I've been sitting here reading four pages of posts getting all excited that it's only THREE WEEKS AWAY!! WHOO HOO!

Now if I could only get to the online booking stuff. My bleepin' computer is so sssslllloooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww.... All I want is Palo high tea, one Palo dinner, one spa massage and see if I can register Sam in the kid's club. Not to much to ask is it?

To everyone who said nice things about my finishing college, Thanks! It's a big deal for me. This cruise is my grad gift from my grandmother, who has loved and supported me through years of me underachieving and it's just amazing that she's stuck with me through it all.

Thanks for the great description of the DL celebration! It made me all emotional too :earsboy: After you've seen a Disney fireworks and/or laser show, there's just no going back. Everything else just seems so, well, ordinary. Only one mouse could do the magic!

peace--
Rebecca

Rebecca-
I went in yesterday for booking and could not find a high tea....but dinner is still available at Palo and you can do Sam in the kids clubs. I bet they are holding some high tea res for onboard booking since not everyone knows about the online. CONGRATS definitely on the school stuff....it takes alot of courage and hard work to do it at any point, but especially when you choose to return later in life!

Happy Mother's Day to everyone! Soon us mom's will be sipping drinks of the day onboard...what a great gift! :flower1:

Hidden Mickey #7: (challenging)...Find the mural on a middle deck with the reading man and a hidden mouse will swim out of the mural at you.

Review of WEEK #1 of hidden mickeys (all in one place so you don't have to search thru the threads if you want to treasure hunt on board):

In the family pool (goofy pool), check the drain gutter (or drain cover).

Monday's Hidden Mickey (or search for the mouse #2):

On Deck 9, go forward young of heart, look down toward the "secret" crew pool and find another secret in the metal deck!

Hidden Mickey#3:

A day of play, a day of shooting hoops...the mouse will keep you on the courts.

Hidden Mickey #4: Fancy dinner, fancy place, better look up or there'll be a mouse in your plate! (NOTE, this actually refers to TWO hidden mickeys in one place).

Here's Hidden Mickey #5: If you gotta do laundry, you've gotta use soap so check your dispenser bubbles for a peek at the mouse!

Hidden Mickey #6: While you are getting pampered, or at least waiting to, better check out those coconuts on the sofa..WOW!

Hidden Mickey #7: (challenging)...Find the mural on a middle deck with the reading man and a hidden mouse will swim out of the mural at you.

Check to see if there are spots for tables of 5-6 people for high tea. I saw someone asking if anyone wanted to join them at high tea because they could only get a table for 6. Alex

First timers,

I tried to get high tea ressies this afternoon and couldn't. I don't know if that means they are full already ( hardly possible ) or that part of the site isn't ready yet. I was able to get brunch and dinner ressies. YEAH! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

3 weeks today! :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

Pocono

Jedisan,
We're in cabin 2528
Mom & Dad are in 2526

Well when I went to the site to register for stuff, I had a devil of a time with things.

First, Palo. No high tea or brunch option, just dinner. So I went for Thursday at 6:00 for 2. It gave me a **pblebphl** raspberry that the time I had selected wasn't available for one or more members of my party. So, I tried for 6:30. Same thing. I gave up, went to the kid's club to get Sam signed in and that went fine except they've got his birthday wrong by one day but I don't suppose that matters.

Then, when I went to the main page to try again on Palo, it said I had exceeded my maximum there, and showed that I had indeed gotten the 6 pm slot Thursday that I wanted first.

I could not get the spa treatments to even load up, so I haven't made a massage appointment yet but I will, oh yes I will.

I am hoping for a high tea and/or brunch option which I will try again for, online, and in person.

Since I hadn't committed to a shore excursion, I'm not going to make an attempt there, although I have decided that Sam would love to go to the beach and so we might indeed try for something.

Three weeks from now, we'll all be on that boat sippin' something cool and just enjoying the heck out of ourselves!

peace-
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,
They had Kelly and Ava's birthdates off by one day too. I is funny though, on the main page they have it right but when you go into the club area, they are off by one day. I read on another thread that a couple other people mentioned the same thing? Strange?

Hope you can get a brunch reservation!!

See you soon.

Margaret - where did you get your Pirate items again?? I really want to bring something for us. Even though we probably won't make it to the deck party, it would still be fun to dress for dinner!!

Hi Sue-

deadmentellnotales.com for all the stuff I mentioned. Another site that had inexpensive costumes was pirate.costume.halloweendepot.com

Same with us. I really doubt Grace can stay awake till 10pm. That's really a shame because she'd probably love all the hoopla and the fireworks. We'll see though. She'll be completely off her schedule anyway, so you never know. But we do plan on dressing pirate for cocktails and dinner, just to get in the spirit.pirate: :bounce:

Do you guys think that they may change Pirate night to Mexican night? :guilty: I hope not, but I may bring some "Cinco De Mayo" left over things, in case. Party city had some nice things.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Lara

Thanks, Lara. You too. And all you Dis'er Moms out there. Oh, gotta go, I hear my mimosa calling me!:sunny:

Happy mom's day to all our DIS moms out there!

Sue and Margaret...I am unsure about Emi making it to pirate party either, but then I was thinking about how this will be a few hours ahead of our normal time zone so maybe the kids will be OK.

Hidden Mickey #8:
Grab the coffee and go...but don't forget to check out that strange kid with the glasses hanging around outside the door.

Oh my God guys, mom and I just RAIDED Party City for all things green and/or Piratey. Were going to play with everything tonight and see how it comes out. We bought lime green table cloths to cover the door to our cabins with. And all kinds of green streamers, glitter, sparkley garland and such to decorate it with. If the "sample" one we make tonight turns out cute, I say we ALL cover our whole door with green! We are making signs to have on the dock, welcoming the Disney Magic to the West Coast! We even found those #1 foam fingers in green to wave around. Cuz we're the 1st W.C. cruise...get it?! Were big party planners, so we're getting very into this whole "green themed everybody being friends together" thing. Oh! And we've decided, in case the cruise doesn't sponsor a "Pirate Night", that we'll make our OWN Pirate Party in our suite for the first day/night. This way, we can all meet, Scoops wont be over crowded with adults, and we'll for sure get to use all the pirate gear we bought. pirate: "Who's coming with me?" More details to follow. That is...if anyone's interested?

Brandy- remember, some of us are old and need bigger type to actually even see if there is anything written in the post! LOL!
I'm excited to see your green door and piratey stuff...this is getting so exciting!

I pulled down my biggest luggage to start tossing things into today since my closet floor is full of the "essentials"...well, my biggest luggage is now full and I don't even have any clothes or hot rollers packed! Cameras, organizers, flipflops, suction cups, power strip, purses and I've got a complete luggage already! I also just realized how many outfits I've bought the kids "for the cruise" over the last year! YIKES!!!

:earboy2: FYI...I found some great pants at Walmart yesterday that are...LIME GREEN...in the clearance section for $5 (mom, they didn't have your size or you would have some too)! They are like workout/yoga pants so should be comfy! They had TONS of green in the women's clothing department (lots by Danskin).
