Celeste, Hope you're feeling better soon.:wizard: DD is going on two field trips before we leave. I'm a little nervous about her being on those trips because she's just like me. She's a klutz.:rotfl2:

Is the Magic departing at 5:00pm? I'd like to watch her go past Grills and then Two Palms.:sail:

Laurie, Sorry to hear about the :laundy: We saw the fires this morning on the national news. I hope you guys get some relief soon. Can you use Febreeze? Don't know if it will help.

Had a terrible nightmare last night, we missed the Magic on one of our ports :scared1: We had just arrived to the port on a taxi, when we see the Magic leaving the port without us. My sister jumped out of the taxi (she is not on the cruise with us, but, she was in my dream) and told the port attendant what happened. DH went over and came back to tell me that the ship was going to return to the pier to get us, but, we had to pay $3,000 for every 5 minutes that the ship was docked. For some reason, in my dream the ship was on the dock for 20 minutes ($3,000 x 4 ouch!!) and I kept telling DH that I was so embarassed that everyone was up on deck looking at us.

I'm glad we only have 1 port to worry about, because, I know this dream will make me even more paranoid about missing the Magic :rolleyes1

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. I'm pretty unstoppable, so I'm sure I'll be there acting crazy like everyone else. :thumbsup2 I just might be doing so with a brace. :goodvibes

Peter beat me to the good morning message....maybe tomorrow?

:rotfl: I had the same dream only we weren't fined (due to the ship not coming back for us)! Our taxi was racing to the port but my husband kept stopping off at shops to buy stuff and I was going nuts yelling at him to hurry up and get back in the taxi, then the road turned into a roller coaster! Then I woke up thank goodness!

It would be interesting to hear the variations of people's dreams of this nature as I bet it's a common theme :rotfl2:

LOL...The reason we were late was DH, instead of walking outside to get a taxi, he made us wait for one that the guy in the restaurant that we were eating at had called. :confused3

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

My (soon to be former) boss just had a shoulder surgery. The recovery was definitely longer than she expected. She's in enough pain that "don't lift" is a given.

Talking about (stubborn?) parents, my mother had appendicitis about 10 years ago. She felt really bad pain at work and knew something was really wrong. Do you think she went to the hospital? NO! She drove herself all the way across town to my grandparents house and had them drive her to the hospital. By the time she got to the hospital her appendix had burst. When I asked her why she was so (*)(^&)*(_ stupid, she told me that she didn't want to be in a hospital in Clearwater since she thought it was a bit to far for her parents to drive to visit her. :scared1:

Thank goodness the story had a happy ending!

Sue

Ok. I just have to put in my 2 cents...(uh, how many euros?). I have had BOTH my shoulders surgerized arthroscopically. One was as was described for your mom and the other was the glenahumoral ligament repair. The one like your mom's was really no big deal..ask EXACTLY what the 'other stuff' is. I am a nurse and I had the surgery on a Thursday and was back at work the next Tuesday. Now the ligament repair was a more lengthy time off...because I am a nurse...lifting, repositioning, etc...but I was able to do things here at home. As far as pain, I NEVER took any pain pills. The discomfort AFTER surgery (both times) was considerably less than before. OK, I'm 55...51 and 53 respectively for the surgeries and in great (if I do say so myself:yay: )shape.
Honestly, it is all in how it is approached and thanks dear doc for planting the seed of 'horrible pain'. Whatever you think, you are right. I'm the cockeyed optomist so I figured that I would do ok and have little or no discomfort (unless I did something stupid...like attempt to lift something....dummy:headache: . I have not read the book The Secret, but the main jist of it is....if you think you can, you are right. My daughter is reading it now and she tells me it is what I have always taught them...if you think you can....you can. My best to your mom and to you. I know both of you will do well and I'll send my prayers and positive karma your way.

We leave in 11 days for BCN and according to our wonderful TA, Beci, our docs are in the mail and will be here monday or tues. (certified, signature required).

Love and Peace to all, Mari

Question!

We're preparing all these little gifts to share with other dis'ers, but what if they don't have a fish extender? What do we do with it, or do we not leave it? Anything left in the hallway in front of someones door would just be picked up wouldn't it? :confused3

Ok,
Now, what are some ideas for the 'little gifts'. My meager swiss cheese mind cannot think of anything. HELP!:headache: :scared:

I was packing to go home on Sunday and I completely rolled my ankle. I heard the bones against each other- OMG, the pain was horrible. I'm now wearing a splint and ace wrap. I can only walk for about 30 minutes at a time- needless to say, I can't work. My foot, ankle, and calf are all nasty looking and very bruised. I'm sure I will still have some left over goodies to show on the cruise.

Gee, last cruise I got bit by a brown recluse spider and now I roll my ankle- maybe I'm not meant to cruise. :confused3

NO, no, no. You are so VERY meant to cruise. You must have recuperation time and have people bring food to you, drinks (medicinal purposes only:rotfl: ) and what better way to recoup than to be on a cruise? Nurses orders....you know we know better than the docs anyway!!

This may have been answered previously, but I'm having difficulty finding the information, does anyone know the name of the actual "port" or "terminal" the Magic will be using in Barcelona?:confused3 Thanks in advance for your help!:flower3:

:dance3: When I went on my daughters field trip I asked for lots of pages to read when I got back, and once again this board DID NOT disappoint!!:yay:

Tracy- Sorry to hear of your Mom. A couple of weeks ago I found out that my grown neice has stomach cancer. I felt like I should cancell and stay home,DH, wise man that he is told me that she would need us later after her sisters had to return to their home states and such and there was nothing I could really do now, except take care of myself to be ready to help later.
Maybe, this might also be true for you also?Theres a reason why the airlines say that that parents need to get their oxygen first and then the kids!!

Celeste-Sorry to hear of your foot. There are some really hunky looking guys who work on the ship that Im sure would be willing to help you out!
Disneys way, right?

Laurie and Sue- Watch those fires and and stay safe!

Finally-Cruise docs did come the day I left for the field trip!!!
Yea, they are nothing spectacular, But I scrapbook eveything and these will fit alot better in the album!!

2WEEKS:yay: :tigger: :mickeyjum :cheer2:

Oh Camille! You must have woke up in a sweat! :cloud9: (not)...

That is my worst nightmare! As I board, I'll make sure you're on before the pull the gangway....:rotfl2:

I have made an extra fish extender if someone wants it. Please PM me. You can choose the pockets from several Disney fabrics I have. Just know, I'm not the best seamstress, but they turned out pretty cute. I'll post a picture in a minute.

It's FAQ Question #13. The FAQs are on the first page of this thread, the 15th post down if you ever have a question. It's a good place to check first.

The Magic docks at Moll Adossat - Terminal C.
