May 19 - 24, 2014 San Diego to Vancouver

Hi everyone, new to all this but not DCL. Going on our 2nd cruise. 1st cruise was in 2011 with my then 11yr old. This time my parents and sister will be going with us. I'm a single mom of an amazing 13yr old.

We received our luggage tags on Saturday!!! Can't wait for May 19!!!

I'm actually (also my kid and sister) born and raised here in San Diego. So as you can imagine...super excited to be able to board the Wonder here.

I have been reading the threads but barely and finally, decided to register. Thank you for all the info :)

Welcome Aboard alicefreak and family. Glad you decided to come out of lurking and post with us. :thumbsup2

We will probably receive our cruise documents a few days before we leave. International post can be a bit slow. Is there anything in the cruise docs you really NEED? We have our online check-in forms, credit cards, and passports - all we really need, right?

Probably the only thing you might really want ahead are your luggage tags but I am sure they can print some at the pier. If you are flying in, you probably wouldn't put them on until you got to San Diego. Don't want to confuse those airport baggage scanners! Sorry this message is duplicate info but I can never figure out how to delete. I should have finished the posts before replying!

I keep going back and forth between the Marriot pinnacle or renaissance harbourside... not a ton of difference I know but anyone have experience here and want to put their two cents in....i guess because I get Marriot points and its close to piers but willing to consider elsewhere..Sutton place..the Burrard or Sylvia... staying 2 days... prefer coal harbor..close to Chinatown..Robson..and Stanley park.... thanks for any input!

I got my ticket package yesterday, yay!!! The agent kept saying that none of the cruise lines send packages anymore, but I kept telling her that my dis buddies had received them. Then she kept talking about the pirate night, & I said the dis board thread is saying there is no pirate night! Thanks very much to all the posters on the thread! I'm in the know, lol! (No thx to the travel agent, she took my money, & I didn't get much in return.)

We used one of them. You tell them what you want, from their graphics, and they make them them post them so you can download. At least that is how it worked with the person we used, but she doesn't do it anymore.

What did you make? Did you print out your image on paper, card stock, or magnet?

I was booked on this cruise in addition to the two day cruise before this one but canceled due to work, however I still have my 14-night WBTA cruise so I'm happy. Have a great cruise everyone.

Se have used several different people. We have printed them out on magnet paper and printed them on shirt decal. They all turned out great.

Hi! My family and I are going to be on the San Diego to Vancouver cruise departing on May 19th. My parents have been on several Disney cruises, but my daughter and I and my sister and her family are first timers. We want to participate in the fish extender gift exchange, but I'm not sure how to sign up. I've already made the fish extenders for us and we have made and purchased all of the gifts to give out. Can someone give advice on how/where to sign up? There are seven of us going on the cruise. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait for the cruise! :)

Hi, first off welcome to the cruise, you will love sailing with DCL, and it is great that you will have so many "at sea" days to enjoy the ship. pixiedust:

Regarding the Fish Extender you need to get in touch with KEW423, there is a link on the first page, second thread. There is other information in that second thread and third thread that may be helpful as well.

But just an FYI, our FE group has officially closed and final lists sent out, so I don't know what can be worked out as most people that are exchanging have already finished making/purchasing and wrapping the number of gifts they are doing. Most FE groups that I have participated in are closed a good month before sailing, and we are now less than three weeks out. I am curious to know how you decided on how many gifts to do?

Again, welcome to the cruise.

Oh that's such a bummer it closed already. :( My sister and I have never done the Disney cruise but she thought she read that April 30th was the deadline to submit our names and stateroom numbers. I read several blogs that said 60 people was about average so each of us in the family (7 total, 3 adults and 4 children) made enough items for 60 people and made fish extenders. If we can't get on the list we will probably bring the gifts anyway so the kids can hand them out since they helped making them.

OK, don't sad face yet. I am not the one that has been organizing all of the FE stuff--I was just sharing the information I knew, and I would hate for the kids to miss out as well--it is so much fun for them to come back to the cabin and check their FE to see what treasures are in there. Did you send a message to KEW 423 yet to see what she says?

Just so you know, each FE group is different and each group determines their deadlines and size of group and if the group gets too big--then they decide how to divide it up into smaller groups. Making the gifts is the first step, getting them all to the ship is another and then taking the time to deliver all over the ship is a process.

In the meantime, do you want me to add your group to the roster on the first page? If so, let me know what information you would like for me to put on there for you. :goodvibes
