Can anyone tell me what the crowds might be like? Also, how is the weather at night? Should I pack light jackets?

We were there during those dates last year. Weather will be warm during the day, but you still can get those cool breezes in the evening.

We also took jackets to the parks, then stashed them in a locker so we didn't have to tote them all day long. Don't forget to stash disposable ponchos in your fanny pack or backpack; we had frequent rains during that time.

Crowds were light-to-medium; we LOVED being there for the FLower & Garden Festival. With FASTPASS, we hardly waited for anything longer than 10 minutes.

We'll be there during that time too!

Maybe we'll see you there!

We'll be there May 17-24, too! We are also staying at BWV--look for the lime green ribbons.

We have been several times during the middle of May. Crowds should be light-to-medium earlier in the week but things will pick up a great deal on Friday, May 23, for Memorial Day weekend.

See you!

We were down in the World this time last year. Our visit also ran into Memorial Day weekend. The first part of the week was GREAT. The crowds and weather were both very manageble. I wore jeans and a jacket at night on several nights. I will be going the same time this year. The Friday running into Memorial day weekend got very CROWDED. That is why I am leaving on that day. The weather forecast for that week so far is not as good as it was last year. The highs are in the high 80's sunny and humid. That is a 15 day forecast and I hope it does change between now and then. I wouldn't worry about the crowds at all until it gets closer to Memorial Day weekend. We will be there with our lime green ribbons at Coronado Springs!!! Enjoy!!!:)

Crowds should be OK, weather is a bit more unpredictable, I'd say. I get the local weather e-mailed to me each day from www.weather.com and, at the moment, temperatures are in the 90s!

See you there!

Disneyfan79,

Oh sure bring a jacket.. Gloves too.. maybe a hat with furry ear patches too :p

It is FLORIDA, in mid MAY.. all you'll need besides shorts and a tank top, is a towel, to wipe the sweat from your head :) :) :)

Hi everyone! We will be at "The World" from May 15-22...... Can't wait. We will be at the Animal Kingdom Lodge........My last trip my daughter who was then 5 was soooo sick that she didn't enjoy anything. I just took my son to the doctor yesterday (he is 5, and this will be his first trip to Disney World), and they did a chest x-ray and he has pneumonia and strep throat!!! He is on serious antibiotics so hopefully it will be all cleared up!! Don't know what it is with my kids getting sick when it is Disney time!!!

Some friends of mine are going to with us, and this is their first vacation ANYWHERE. They heard to bring rain ponchos too, but I don't think I am going to do that. I have so many other things to carry, and you can never be totally prepared and have everything in your fanny pack or backpack!

Look forward to hearing how everyone's trip was and hopefully we will all have some gorgeous weather while we are there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pixie dust on all your vacations!!!

DisneyLover 70 . . . Just in case you might want to change your mind, I thought you'd like to know the disposable ponchos from Wal-Mart don't take up much more room than a deck of cards (and not as thick). They're about .89 or so.

We prefer packing one of those to paying about $6 for a yellow Mickey poncho which you then have to carry around after the rain stops!!

Just thought maybe you were under the impression that these were bigger than they really are!!!

donna in Oz

I wasn't aware they came so small and so cheap! But I still don't know if I want to add 4 more things to carry in my fannypack. I don't want to carry around a backpack so I am trying to limit the stuff I have to carry around my waist! I gotta have sunscreen and money and that kind of stuff, but thanks for the info. I may just buy them and only carry them if they are calling for rain. That doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. Thanks for the info!!!

Also, will be in the world on May 18th thru 27th arrive early on 18th @ 840 AM whole day yippee.
FIRST TIME FOR US IN MAY WE USUALLY GO IN OCT change because DS has football season. Hope all these boards are correct about May Staying at WLV. The countdown is on
