Lake - That is a little different than what I remembered. Thanks for telling me. I didn't realize the Feast of Stephen was December 26, which makes sense when I think the of words of Good King Wenceslas (Have you guys seen Love Actually? I love the scene where Hugh Grant starts singing this and then his driver joins in.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vD1-w63UoDU

Not a movie for the kids, but for some reason I think it is so funny.

i love that movie and that scene.....
i also love the scene where sam runs after joanna in the airport.

i think there are a few versions of the story of boxing day...but this is the one i know, due to having british ancestors.

Great tree Sulley! :santa:

I bet you are getting so excited!! I can't wait to hear all about your trip and then hear all about where you will be working!! And then come and see you in action!! :woohoo: In ONLY 4 months 3 weeks :hourglass

oh Lordy!

Been shopping. Children'sPlace, Old NAvy, Chico's, White House Black Market, local coffee shop. (Of course!)

The deal of the day:
a $218 sweater coat with fur collar...I got it for $23 at Chico's. OMG. They almost had to scrape me off of the floor when they told me.:rotfl:

New Crew- I'm glad you asked aboout Boxing Day! Now I don't sound ignorant. Thanks Lake!

As to my MIL's performance...
It's at the Performing Arts Center; it's always a sell out crowd...Christmas EVe candlelight service. She's a Soprano and studied under an Italian Opera singer for 16 years. Every year she sings a version of "Oh Holy Night" that literally takes your breath away. I am so sad I won't get to go this year. Will have to watch the video.

Seacrest...you have discovered the secret to happiness and joy!
DH knows it himself... "If Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy." And, "If Momma's ticked...you better run and hide, cause someone's gonna pay. Dearly."

Sulley- I'd love to see your cats climb your tree...hahaha. It's beautiful!:goodvibes
Jo

Hey Everyone....

JO - WOW ur schedule looks BUSY.... I'm getting tired just reading.
Lake - I do agree with you this is going to be a wonderful year... and the mayers are a part of it.
Shelly - that's very nice of you to do for them. I guess when my DD has to go to school i'll copy you and do the same....
Sea - so you have found the way to stay happy in life... congrats to you.
Huggie - WHERE R U?????
Sulley - Aren't you excited WDW CP is almost here... i can't wait to hear where you will be staying.

I have to do some shopping but I cannot go until Friday and Sat so i'm cutting it REAL close. Everybody's schedule looks busy and full of family and Joy... Me i'm going to my mothers for dinner on Xmas eve then go to my MIL after midnight to open gifts there. Then on Xmas day i'm going back to Mothers house the other half of the family is coming over for a lunch/dinner type meal.

Shelly - What did you put in your gift baskets?

Just some home baked goods! Sugar cookies, choc chip cookies, double choc chip cookies, pb blossom cookies, almond cookies, pb chip cookies, choc covered pretzels, choc covered peanut brittle (the only thing I didn't make) and then some little candies. I put them in little Christmas baskets I got at WalMart and then wrapped them with clear Christmas designed plastic bags and ribbons.

We have so many teachers and busdrivers this year that I thought I'd do the baskets instead of buying gifts. It was a lot of work, but fun! We have the bus driver that takes the boys to school, another one that brings DS6 home from kindergarten, and another one that brings DS8 home. Then there's DS8's teacher. DS6's teacher and a teacher's aid. And I am the PTO rep for the kindergarten building and I am there a lot, so I felt like I should make one for the secretary and the maintenance guy. Oh MY, I think that's it! At the schools anyway. I am going to make up a few more for family members too. :santa:

What a great idea.
My son's teacher and bus driver are getting some chocolates and some very well priced christmas cd's we found at good old walmart...my son wrapped them up in gift bags and made cards, they are really cute.

Sulley - Glad to hear your finals are almost over - I hope you do well.

Thanks Seacrest!! I think I did well on the two I had today....tomorrow's is my toughest, but I'm as ready as I'll ever be to be done :)

That tree is a beauty. I have all my wrapping stuff out in front of my tree. I like to do the "Christmas wrap" in front of the tree.

We have a bunch of wrapping stuff next to it too, you just can't see it in that pic....I have a huge box of presents that still need to be wrapped....Everything is purchased, just not wrapped.

Great tree Sulley! :santa:

Hey Everyone....

Sulley - Aren't you excited WDW CP is almost here... i can't wait to hear where you will be staying.

Insanely excited....All afternoon after I was done with my tests I bounced around my friend's house saying 27 Days! I'm so ready to go and find out everything. My best friend is a little sad about me leaving, but she's excited too, and she's planning to come visit me in May!

Jo

Jo -
That is QUITE a deal! Wow!

Well, I don't have any pics of them climbing it because usually as soon as I hear them, I start yelling instead of grabbing the camera :), but to fully appreciate the hilarity of the situation, here's a pic of the cats....

BullseyeRocky03.jpg

It's hard to really tell in this pic, but Rocky (the light grey one) has a bad back leg that he just drags around, including when he's climbing

Sulley~

Good luck with your final final today!;)

I know you are too excited about your CP. Please don't forget us, and please keep us up to date with anything interesting that you do. We are so excited a MAYer gets to be there!

AS to your cats...
are you sure those cute little precious things are the ones that are climbing the tree? They look so innocent.

How's everyone else doing?

Shelly, I knew all along you were the baker. I'm jealous. The only thing our bus driver is getting is a gift card to Chic fil a.

SOOO much to do. I packed most everything last night.
Scrubbing the dog at 8:30, getting the car cleaned later, going back out shopping for a few last minute items, packing up the car...
ordering pizza for supper.

Have a great day, everyone. I will check back later.

Oh, if someone wants to...
anyone want to take over the countdown to Christmas? I won't have my computer with me after today.:goodvibes You're on your own...
He's not frozen. OMG, he worked it out.

All you May travelers have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.:santa: If you are traveling be safe!!:thumbsup2 Our countdowns are getting closer!!:cool1: Everyone take care!:)

Hey everyone! :goodvibes

Just got back from all my running. DS8's play was very cute. DS6's party was fun. The teachers and busdrivers seemed to really like their baskets!

Now I think I need to make some more chocolate covered pretzels since I just gave most of them away!!

JO, sounds like you got some great deals shopping yesterday! Where did you go? I hope you have a safe and wonderful trip south!

Sulley - Your kitties are very cute! :cat: :cat: Were they napping because they were tired from climbing the Christmas tree??? :rotfl:

Thanks Jo!

What adorable little angels! I'm with Jo, there is no way those two were climbing that tree. (Tee Hee) They even sleep in their bed, and have visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads!

Hey everyone! :goodvibes

Yeah, those two will fool anyone....actually 11 months out of the year they're wonderful cats, they don't get into too much trouble or cause a ruckus....but once that Christmas tree comes out with the lights and shiny balls, they become naughty little boys and get into all kinds of mischief...

HI everyone! :teleport: a quick post and run of course. Life has been crazy busy lately! With the 3 little ones and Roman still being off and on sick, it's been hard to do much else :) haah Then my little shop business has soared and i'm nearing 200 sales in the 3 months that I have opened up the little shop front, so that keeps me busy too.

I hope all is well with you this holiday season! We are doing great, just busy busy!!

Michelle! How wonderful to hear from you.
I wish you and your family a happy, healthy and prosperous holidays and new years. :santa:

Hey! I have been out shopping.

I am a sucker for "As seen on TV" stuff. I think 75% of the stuff I bought today had this statement on it. And I have NEVER seen it on TV...
:happytv:

Several things for my parents and in-laws like the magnet necklace clasp. My mom just broke her arm so I thought she might like that. I also bought her a "gopher grabber" thing. My MIL has one and loves it. Some sort of package opening thing for my dad.

I guess I need to buy something for my hubby! :scared1: Back out to shop more!
