Is it May yet??????:snooty:

so i order it and bought the december issue to rollup and put in his stocking.

i had hoped to take the kids out for lunch today, but i woke up this morning feeling awful... at least if i'm sick it's today and not next week.

Lake~
Are you feeling better? Hope so. Got to get better in time for Christmas!:grouphug:

How's everyone else doing? I'm so overwhelmed it's not even funny. Okay, it is funny, but I'm not laughing.

We leave in two days. Here is my itinerary: Read with caution. You might want to lie down afterwards.;)

Friday- leave at 5am drive all day to SC. Get there around supper time, Maybe later, depending on potty breaks with the kids. Mark, Drew, Beau GAtor will go to his parents house, I'll go to my Mom's with Mary Cat, and Belle.

Saturday_wake up, shop in the AM. Take Mary Cat to her Dad's house there in Charleston. Me, my Mom and Belle will go to downtown to spend the night in my Aunt's vacation house and go to dinner and Beauty and the Beast.

Sunday- go to church, out to lunch with the inlaws and outlaws. Probably a group of about 20. Back to Mom's house to bake and get ready for the big day!

Monday- finish cooking, go get Mary Cat, Mark comes up and we go over to the Christmas Eve dinner at 5pm at Aunt's house (my Mom's twin). About 30 people invited, all family we haven't seen all year. Mark leaves to go to his Mom's performance ( I can't go this year because the party is later than ususal). I will leave at 8PM with the kids and drive 40 minutes to Mark's parent's house for their Christmas Eve party that starts at 9pm. Dinner, (again!!) followed by opening presents. Put the kids to bed at midnight, stay up to do Santa stuff. Fall into bed between 2-3 AM.

Tuesdsay- Wake at 6 am ( or whenever the kids get up, which is usually between 5 and 6 am) they open presents, we have breakfast, I get in the car and drive back to my Mom's house for lunch. Afterwards, I go back to MIL's house for big Christmas supper with china, silver, goblets, etc. Very fancy.
Then I go and throw up because I am exhausted and am now as big as a house after eating all that I have.

Wednesday-NOTHING. Imagine that.

Thursday- nothing again. shopping maybe:confused3

Fiday- Dinner at the Country club at Inlaws seafood buffet, yum.

Saturday-nothing

Sunday- church, pack the car

Monday- drive back to PA.

I am exhausted. I haven't even started yet. I've never written out my schedule before. Now I know why every year I adamantly swear that i will not come home the next year.

But I always do. every year for 7 years now. I guess part of the charm of Christmas for me is the insanity it brings.popcorn::

I really have lost it.

 frozen banana.

Lake - Sorry you are feeling  . Hopefully you will be well by Christmas.

That is an awesome idea to buy the current issue. I think I am going to copy you. Imitation is the highest form of flattery you know! Thanks for the idea!

that's what mayers are for...lol;)

thank you so much for all the well wishes yesterday...
mayers have extraordinary powers because i am feeling 100% better today... it must have been a 24 hour thing... stomach flu on top of a migraine... oh not fun at all.

but i feel like my old self again today and i can get back to finishing everything i need to do for christmas now.

We leave on friday to go to my parents.
and spend the weekend there.
They live in a little cottage town called Goderich, Ontario..located on lake huron. It's very pretty there, and very cozy for the holidays with all the snow and trees etc..
We get home late sunday in timefor my husband to put in a half day of work on Christmas Eve, and then for the first time we get to spend christmas day all by ourselves as a family... I am really looking forward to it...I am also looking forward to having the kids watch the walt disney world parade on christmas morning this year, and watch them recognize all the things they saw in May. ( okay maybe mom wants to watch it too! )

My DH mother and her husband will probably join us for brunch at about 11 am, as they make there trip over to see the kids. On Boxing Day ( 26th) - we have dinner with my father in law and his family, and then on the 28th, we have dinner with my mother in law and her family.... ( are you confused yet..) haha

I am excited about the holidays this year...maybe because they are topping off a pretty wonderful year. And my mayers, are definitely part of that wonderful! :grouphug:

sullley- i noticed there is a disney college program group on facebook.... just thought i'd pass that along...don't know if you are a facebook member or not. i use facebook to keep in touch with friends in my hometown... i wonder if any other mayers use it...hmmmmmm...:)

Lake - Tell me about Boxing Day. I think I remember this but I want to tell my kids about it and want to tell them the right thing!

Hi everybody! :goodvibes

Just finished up putting together all the teacher and busdriver gift baskets. Now DS6 & I are off to a playdate. Then all the running around starts tomorrow!

JO - Sounds like quite a weekend you have planned! It'll be fun!

Hi Lake & Sulley!

Huggie - We're waiting. . . . . popcorn:: :laughing:

So I finally downloaded the pics from my camera of our Christmas tree....

Christmas2007-04.jpg

It no longer looks this nice, the cats climb in it a couple times a day and our chocolate lab gets over-excited and knocks it over with her tail 2-3 times a week....

Hi All!

It rained last night and it is raining today. Blah!

Jo - I got really tired and exhausted all that you are going to do in the next couple of days - but it sounds really fun. Let us know how the Disney show is.

Sulley - Glad to hear your finals are almost over - I hope you do well.

Lake - Glad that you are feeling better today.

New Crew - Send that carpet cleaner to my house next - after the rains.

Shelly - Your banana is dancing - enjoy!

My wife's laptop went crazy over the weekend. So I reformated the computer and installed XP again. Problems galore - still didn't work. So I got Dell on the phone Monday night and for almost 3 hours we worked on it. Downloaded drivers and installed them and it is now working pretty good. I was on the phone with Dell until almost 2:00 a.m.! I was so tired yesterday from that marathon - my wife is so glad her computer is fixed.

Moral of the story: Happy wife = happy life.

Seacrest :cool1:

Lake - Tell me about Boxing Day. I think I remember this but I want to tell my kids about it and want to tell them the right thing!

Boxing Day is celebrated on December 26 in Canada, and Great Britain and in most areas settled by the English (the U.S. is the major exception ). While the exact origins of the holiday are hard to pin point, most believe that Boxing Day began in England during the Middle Ages.

Some historians say the holiday was started as servants were required to work on Christmas Day, but would then get the day after christmas off. As the servants lefft to visit their own families, their employers would present them with a gift box. ( Hence the name Boxing Day) Inside would be extra pay, food, gifts ect.. as a way to thank them for their services.

Another theory is that the boxes placed in churches where parishioners deposited coins for the poor were opened and the contents distributed on December 26, which is also the Feast of St. Stephen.

As time went by, Boxing Day gift giving expanded to include those who had rendered a service during the previous year. This tradition survives today as people give presents to tradesmen, mail carriers, doormen, porters, and others who have helped them.

It is a statuatory holiday here.

Hope that helps.

Lake - That is a little different than what I remembered. Thanks for telling me. I didn't realize the Feast of Stephen was December 26, which makes sense when I think the of words of Good King Wenceslas (Have you guys seen Love Actually? I love the scene where Hugh Grant starts singing this and then his driver joins in.)

Not a movie for the kids, but for some reason I think it is so funny.

That tree is a beauty. I have all my wrapping stuff out in front of my tree. I like to do the "Christmas wrap" in front of the tree.
