Oh...my...gosh! I missed out on the 2007 Shoe Fest merrell, keens and tevas Oh MY! Loved all the pictures and information...so now I want new shoes...

And I have got to stop reading....I'm now very hungry for some BBQ and I haven't had breakfast....wonder if I can BBQ my oatmeal today

We had oatmeal for breakfast, but with raisins and brown sugar, not BBQ I've been a little shoe crazy -- Crocs for DH and me, Teva sandals for me, and just ordered Columbia Surf Tides for DH -- hope they are comfortable. And we are both breaking in fairly new walking shoes, so I think we'll be set.

Yay..another day closer! Today we go pick up the DH's suit. We bought one so he'd have something nice to wear to V & A's for dinner. I'm also going to continue in my quest for a garment bag and *gasp* a bathing suit. While I am addicted to shoe shopping, bathing suit shopping is one particular brand of consumerism I could live without.

Oh, bathing suits, ugh. I hate hate hate shopping for them. Thought I got a great deal on Disney shopping, but it was HUGE and I had to return it. Having a bathing suit too BIG is not usually my problem I got 50% off a ridiculously expensive "Miracle Suit" from Lane Bryant -- and while it's not exactly "miraculous", it looks better than most I've tried on. I do not usually do bathing suits at all, but we have one morning planned for Typhoon Lagoon, and I might take a dip in the Hippy Dippy Pool

I will be at SSR from May 10th to the 19th.

Are there meeting etc happening???

I know about picky eaters. My oldest eats the junkiest stuff and then complains how bad he feels later. I keep telling him, eat better food and you will feel better. Funny thing now is that his current girlfriend is a vegetarian and he won't eat any meat in front of her. The situation has all the makings for a TV comedy show.

JC, I loved the Annette Funicello story. Here's one of my favorite DL stories...

We were sitting on a bench in the shade at Fantasyland, across from the Matterhorn, just resting our tired feet. A HUGE group of Japanese tourists comes wandering up -- all men, many of them in suits, gazing in awe at the huge fake mountain, and kind of mulling around, breaking up their group. So the tour guide calls out to them, and waves a little flag -- I guess it was his way to signal them that they should all gather around him. So they start wandering back, and out of nowhere, here comes Alice in Wonderland. She walks right up to the tour guide, and says in her little clipped British accent, "Oh, are we having a parade, then?" He just blinks at her, not sure what to do. So she grabs his flag and says to the confused group, "Well, come along then, follow me," and she starts marching around them in a big circle. They just stand there astonished, maybe not understanding what she's saying...and I realized, probably more than half of them have absolutely no clue who she is, and may think she is just some crazy, bossy American girl in a blue dress and white pinafore. She stops, puts her hand on her hip, all exasperated, and says, "I said, come along then!" and starts marching again. The men looked at each other and then obediently lined up behind her, totally seriously, marching away, making sure to lift their knees as high as Alice did, pumping their arms enthusiastically, with completely deadpan, straight faces. We were laughing our heads off, and wishing like crazy we had a video camera...

Tomorrow we have to go to a lunch thing...My DH has won some sort of award at school. I have no idea what it is yet.

But I'm really glad he won though....

Well, I'm guessing you thought I had fallen off of the face of the earth. Not quite, but as of 5am yesterday, I was wishing someone would've shot me.

The party was wonderful! By the time I picked the kids up from school, I only had an hour to get ready. Um, not quite long enough, you know. Dh calls and says "hey, do you think I have time for a run???" "no, dear, we leave in 45 minutes, and your runs last for 2 hours. I'd say no."

Okay, babysitter comes (she is awesome, I think I have found a Nanny!) and we take off.

Get there, valet the car for $25, but well worth the money.

Go inside to see the most beautiful people in elegant clothing, and no one had on my dress. Yay! This is nice! Security is everywhere. I felt like I was walking the red carpet. They were checking tickets and we went upstairs. Checked our tickets once again, and showed us to the VIP reception. Walked in and immediately saw Lynn Swann. What a nice gentleman.

Milled around, found one of the VP's, hugs were given, "oh, you look wonderful" etc. Okay, time for supper.

Went down the silent auction line, Dh considers bidding on Jerome Bettis' autographed framed jersey; bidding started at $500. Decides not to, people keep wandering around, asking if they can take our picture. There are tv cameras are everywhere, celebrities are mingling and I have no clue who most of them are.

We go in to our table. In the Platinum sponsorship section, right next to the main aisle. They begin calling out names and the old players come walking in. The only ones I really know of are "Mean" Joe Green, Mel Blount (he's the one who puts this together), Lynn Swann, and Tony Dungee. They all walked down the aisle, next to us.

So we had dinner which consisted of a salad, a filet mignon, pepper encrusted
fish of some sort, and some swirly potato thingamajig. Everything was suprisingly good, considering there were 1200 people there. Then I look up, and Lynn Swann is headed for our table!!! He came over and shook our hands and thanked us for coming. Awww, he's so nice.

Got up to go use the restroom and walked past a table full of old players. I knew they were old players because I heard one of them ask another earlier " What years did you play?". So I'm walking past, and they start cat calling to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I look over in horror and all these past prime dudes are grinning like I'm at a construction site! So I just got out of there as fast as possible. One of the VP's wives (whom I know from our lives in AR and we are friends) says to me, "Oh my gosh, I thought they were going to follow you into the bathromm." Dh wasn't with me, so he never heard it, but he always laughs at this stuff.

Okay, anyway so then the roast begins and it's funny to hear all the old stories they are telling on each other.

Then it's over. No dancing! Oh well. We get the car, come home, pay the babysitter. It really had been a nice night!

Wake up at 5am...with the stomach flu. So that's why I haven't been on here. I was ill in the bed all day yesterday and it was so nice out!

I am feeling better this AM, except a bit weak.

So, sorry to bore you, my May buds with the long post. I just had to share with you all, because you're my friends.

Looks like I have a bunch of catching up to do!!!!
