Oh good heavens- my computer had a crisis and now it's fixed itself... but i've been without the computer all day -- I had just logged on this morning and found a couple of threads and I posted and then the computer crashed.
I was so sad- it was my do nothing day- b/c Mark is out of town, LOL!

Buuuttt- I was able to pull up Word and I got all of my plans straight and printed out for the trip.

Thanks Shelly- I'm going to look at that thread as soon as i get the kiddos down-

NC- Jackson Hole is an awesome place- lots of trails and such for the kids. It was a winners circle trip from Mark's job- next year is Hawaii- But with the new job, I just don't know if we'll make it or not, LOL. I think if the general public knew exactly how much $ these companies spend to send execs on perk trips, there would be riots in the streets every time our food prices go up.
The Co. he was with before- when they sent us to Hawaii for that trip- it cost them $16,000, Per couple. There were about 250 couples that went. You do the math.
Um...... 4 MIL. Yep, that's about right. It's absurd, really.

anyhoo-
I'm glad to be back! I was walking around the house not knowing what to do with myself today, and yet there was so much that needed to get done!

Tomorrow, our plantation Shutters are being installed- thank goodness! i just didn't want to show the world my butt any more, LOL! They were ordered when we put a contract on the house... it's been forever.


Okay- off to get the babies in and have supper-

Good Morning all....

Busy day here... I have a playdate with a friend... then my DD has a dentist's office... then off to my mother's for a little while. Then back home to make dinner.... and i'm not feeling to great today.... hopefully i'm not getting sick considering i'm leaving in 2 days.....

So I have 28 days left before we leave.

I am so excited- I couldn't sleep last night. After I dropped the kids off at school, I put in my Fantasmic CD and turned it up as loud as i could without having the Subwoofer fall out of the car. The bass must've been booming b/c the guard at the gate gave me a very strange look. I just waved as I went through- I did get a bit misty eyed- the kids haven't been in two years- so especially for Belle- she was 4 when she last went- I think it will be so special.

And MNSSHP- "the secret"- I think MC must be suspicious, b/c she keeps asking me where we are going, when. I just secretly smile.



Okay- I have to be here all day.

Come on MAYers, come out to play.



Anyone know when KB gets back??? I hope she is getting lots of Dreams!!!

I know it was a very special trip. Those kinds of trips are usually very over the top.

The money these companies spend on these sorts of things is unbelievable. We have been entertained by vendors, and holy moly the money that had to be spent. I think the most outrageous one was our trip to NY. Flew into NY. Stayed at the Waldorf. The wives were taken on a shopping spree to Bloomingdales with a fashion show/breakfast with shopping before the store opened to the public. Then we were wisked away to a hoity toity French restaurant that overlooked Central Park. We were then taken to the UN for a private tour, where they left me. You better believe I was not a happy camper. We were to go to a private shopping event at FAO Swartz that night that was catered along with a bar. Well, we skipped, because I was so PO'd about being left at the UN. Plus, I would rather see a broadway play, than shop for toys. We arrived back at the room that evening to champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and apology note from the president of the company and a little blue box for me from Tiffany's. The next day we lunched at the Waldorf, I remember because we had Waldorf salad as one of the courses. We were seated at the president of the companies table with me next to the president, who apoligized the entire meal. We saw Mama Mia on broadway when it first came out, which had to cost a pretty penny. Had a dinner dance after in a room at the Waldorf after. I swear I think the ceiling opened up to the night sky. I may have dreamed that part. No telling how much that company had payed for that.

My DH told me how much we (the company he works for) paid for the party at Pure in Las Vegas. Good Grief!!! It was a ton. But it costs the company less to host that party than to send all of the sales reps out that one night separately to take clients to dinner and entertain them. Financially the company came out better.

Sounded like a dream for sure- and yes, the money is outrageous.
I think the most DH has done was his old co.- they had a private concert by Cher In Vegas and they stayed at the Venetian, also seeing Mama Mia there. I don't even like Cher ????? They also once had a concert by Celine Dion just for them.

But i think your trip sounds better than all of them.

Jo & NC - There is a whole industry out here that caters to parties and special events. It is incredible all the setup and intricate details that go into these events. Have you heard about the gift bags you can get at these events? Cell phones, ipods, airline and hotel vouchers, etc. Some even setup mini shopping suites where you go and select the items you want to take home. It is not uncommon for a person to walk away with gifts worth 5K up to 100K.

One of my clients, BizBash, covers this industry extensively with their magazine and website. Check out the HBO Emmy after party pictures, it is stunning!

A private concert with Cher and Celine Dion? Although a stay at the Venetian is nice and maybe some spending money would be cool - I would pass on those concerts and rather see LOVE or Elton John.

Oh Mamma Mia? I thought the play was very good. The movie was HORRIBLE! The worst 2 hours of my life that I will never get back.

Actually, I think it is good that the corporations are spending this kind of money on their employees and families. People need incentive and recognition from time to time. A lot of people are employed to put on these events and parties too.

Another busy day here. Was at the school all morning helping the photographer take oh about 175 first graders pictures! Next week is book fair.

Nothing much going on around here other than soccer and school.

Sure hope Katie's not getting too wet and is having a blast. Anyone know when she comes back?

Hey Mayers! Popping into say hi! And give a mini-report about today

Hope everyone's doing well....Yay for PotC4

Today was gorgeous weather, about 75-80 with a nice little breeze, it's finally starting to feel like something other than summer . And no rain today. Today was a cast preview of F&W at Epcot, so one of my roommates and I went to play in the park and have some food!

SE, M:S, TT, the Land were all walkons and we were able to Fastpass for Soarin, we got FP's for 4:06 at 3:15 when standby was 50 minutes, it was crazy . After playing in Future World, we walked through WS, we stopped at the Louisiana stand, which had crawfish etouffee, seafood gumbo, and an amazing bread pudding. We both had bread pudding, and met up with a co-worker from Louisiana who had tried both the etouffee and gumbo and said they were right on. We also stopped at the San Francisco stand and both had a braised beef medallion on cheddar polenta that was also very good. We plan on going back when we have more energy and money to spend eating and drinking around the stands. We then went back and rode TT and M:S one more time before heading home to watch movies.

Hey hey it's Friday!

Got a busy weekend ahead of us. My birthday is tomorrow so we are going down to DLR to celebrate it with some friends. The park has just started the Halloween season today and the Haunted Mansion has been transformed into the Nightmare Before Christmas. Can't wait to see all the decorations.

Today was opening day for the Race for the Cure space. I worked there most of the day. It was fun. The volunteers were really nice.
