Hello!

Sulley - Glad to hear from you and congrats on going fulltime.

KB - Great schedule - looks like you will have a great time.

Shelly - Congrats on your son's math achievements! We went to Electric Umbrella and it was good for a quick bite to eat. Lots of indoor seating and self serve soda fountain - keep your cups for those refills for the rest of the day! I don't recommend the Mexican food CS at Epcot...not authentic nor good. The seagulls come in and dive bomb the place and steal your food all the time!

RF - Flad to hear your are going to WDW in May. I hope everything goes smoothly.

NC - Too bad about the rain and the electricity problems. Yea for Disney comfort foods! We love the MM ice cream sandwiches and of course, Dole Whips!

I'm starting to think about my CS meals. . . Looking for a good CS place for lunch in Epcot. . . We didn't care for Boulangerie Patiserrie or Sunshine Seasons. . . We liked Electric Umbrella and will probably just go there again, unless you MAYers have another suggestion. . .

Also looking for somewhere at DHS to have lunch around 10:30-11:00am, okay more like brunch! Anything like that (CS)??? Fantasmic is at 7:00, therefore they made all the Fantasmic packages between 3:30-4:30. So, we are having dinner at 4:00! So we will want to have lunch fairly early. . .

Thanks! :goodvibes

Well, you just never know...Sunshine Seasons and Boulangerie were two of our favorite Epcot CS :rotfl2: So either different we have tastes or maybe we got there on good days and you were there on "off" days :confused3 Ah well...we also liked the Kringla Bakery in Norway and Tangierine in Morocco -- a bit exotic, but we like that kind of thing. I've heard the fish & chips in UK are good if you like those...we didn't care for the Mexico CS, but we are really spoiled on good Mexican food, living in CA...

For DHS...there's not much...maybe try Starring Rolls?

Well, my dd's dance class was cancelled last night. No electricity. I hauled my booty up to the gym this morning only to find they were closed due to no power as well. Lot of schools closed about 1 hour southwest of here due to no powere and lots of flooding.

On the bright side, it is only drizzling here this morning. Maybe the storm is on it's way out. :yay:

Oh man, is that all from Gustav? Hope you guys are ok...I wonder if they will call electric crews from here -- they did for Katrina...

My kids wish we had a private jet so we could fly to the Electric Umbrella to eat there anytime we want. :confused3 They love the Cheese Fries. My DH likes that you can refill your own drink. So we are of no help there.

DHS - The Backlot Express is between the Indy Stunt Show and Star Tours. If is a lot like the Electric Umbrella foodwise. Of course, since you can get a burger and fries, my kids are happy.

Hi Sea! How's the party planning?

Oh man, is that all from Gustav? Hope you guys are ok...I wonder if they will call electric crews from here -- they did for Katrina...

It is from Gustav. The power is still out at my gym. I would love it if you would send some crews over this way! :goodvibes

Morning all.... I know i've been MIA for the past couple of days.... I have bad news and good news. I'm going to start a course to get my LPN license since it's only a 12 month course instead of going for anohter 3 years to college. So the classes start on Jan 3 the week that we were supposed to go down to WDW with the family. I'm going to continue looking around for a different course but we'll see. and then I won't be able to go to WDW until atleast May 2010... after the course is finished.. :(

NC - I hope you don't get sept away.

Shelly - Oh planning days already i wish.. oh I wish....

It is all coming together nicely. The relatives are starting to arrive from the airport since yesterday. Got all the picture poster displays done, candy bar wrappers finished, and the slide show completed. The caterer is ready - I think we are going to have over 100 people at my uncle's home. My parents are very excited to share and celebrate this time with their family and friends. It will be a blast!

That's funny!! :lmao: That's what I love about us MAYers, we all have different opinions and we all remain friends!! :snooty: :grouphug: You don't find that on many other threads! So many times I've seen it - when someone likes a resort or a restaurant and then someone else doesn't they get all offended and a riot breaks out!! :sad2: :rotfl:

We ate at Boulangerie on our first trip. DH still talks about how hard and stale the bun was on his sandwich! We must have gone on a bad day. :confused3 And yes, I think we are the only ones that don't care for Sunshine Seasons!

I'll have to check out the menu for Staring Rolls for DHS. Thanks!

I've been thinking about you Mari! :goodvibes Glad you checked in! We can't afford to lose anymore MAYers!

Good luck with the LPN license! I hope you still get to go to WDW in January! :wizard:

Busy morning here, working at the school. Just got home about an hour ago. The forecast just said that we are supposed to get rain and thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow, they said it's leftovers from Gustav and Hanna. We'll see. . . we haven't had any rain in over a week.

Hope all is well and getting back to normal NC! :goodvibes

I agree Shelly. I really don't have the time nor the energy to venture out on to other areas on the Disboards. I have been very disappointed with a lot of the attitude of "I know what is best and you don't" and the unwillingness of to value other peoples ideas and experiences, on other places here on the boards.

Let's get real, not everyone is going to have the same experience when they visit the parks and hotels even they all booked at the same time and visited at the same time. Rides break down, food was prepared wrong, the total was wrong at the cash register, the pool had too much chlorine, the buses were always full, etc.

Honestly, some people need to lighten up and stop attacking people over minuscule things that have really no relevance in the bigger picture of life. Some people can't be happy just the fact they were able to take a vacation and spend time with their family and yet they rant about not finding that extra bar of soap in bathroom.

:lmao: You're right Sea! It's a vicious world out there on the DIS boards!! I once shared my poor experiences at CSR, just agreeing with the OP and a swarm of CSR lovers attacked the crap out of me and DIS stalked me for weeks! :sad2: Do they seriously not have anything better to do??? And I've since seen them do it to many other posters as well.

Obviously not everyone is going to like or dislike the same things! DUH!! Why is everyone so shocked when someone doesn't agree with them??? :confused3 Those resort boards are unreal sometimes.

That's what's great about our little thread! :snooty:
CSR - Sea loved it. I didn't. Mari thought it was just ok.
Chef Mickey's - I loved it. Huggie didn't.
Sunshine Seasons - Katie loved it. I didn't.
Mama Melrose - I liked it. NC likes is. Huggie didn't.
Electric Umbrella - NC loved it. I liked it. Someone ??? didn't. I forget who?
POFQ - JO loved it. I thought it was just ok.
And so on and so on. . . .

BUT GUESS WHAT???? WE ARE ALL STILL FRIENDS!!! :grouphug:

hey guys!

i have been reading up on the DISboards bashing and I have to agree...
the only thread that i visit on the DIS besides here is the "would you rather" thread - i think it's fun and it gets you pretty excited for your trip and to come up with fun questions :goodvibes

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1792577

i save all of my questions and opinions for tour guide mike ( and my MAYers of course :snooty:  :snooty: )

mari - i am excited for you to go back to school! that is such an exciting step and i know you'll be great - take it from me - someone who is desperate to go back to wdw asap - but it will be there waiting for you when you're ready for it.... and who knows maybe it won't still be the "year(s) of a million dreams" :lmao:

Any day at WDW is dream for me! :cloud9:

Hope all of you guys are doing great. The rain has left. :yay: The power was on at my gym today. :yay: :yay: :yay:

I had a meeting at the school about my dd that went super great. :yay: :yay: :yay: I am not sure if I told you guys or not, my dd is dyslexic and dysgraphic, and she qualifies for gifted and talented. She is a genious who at one time couldn't read, but reads at or above grade level now, can't spell, and has extreme difficulty writing and copying. Her new teachers love her. :lovestruc And are completely on board with supporting her in any way she needs. She does not leave the regular class for extra tutoring, but needs to use a word processor and have some of her assignments shortened. She needs to be challenged with new information and concepts or the genious side of her brain gets bored, but doesn't need her assignments to be too long or she has trouble finishing them as it takes her forever to complete her writing asssignments. They completely get her. Right now the only assignments we are going to shorten will be math. She is really doing great this year. She has come a long way in the last couple of years. I am so excited.

Mari - I am so excited for you about the nursing program. I hope you find a great program. I know you will be great nurse. You are so caring and compassionate.

Sea - Take pics of the party. I want to see all of your great work. I know you have really made it a special time for your parents.

Shelly - You are so right. I have been HAMMERED on these boards for my opinions at times. :sad2:

But I love it here!

I love you MAYers! :lovestruc

Have a great weekend! :goodvibes

Aww, Mari  Maybe it will still work out for you to go in January...but getting your nursing degree -- how awesome! WDW will still be there, waiting for you...

It is all coming together nicely. The relatives are starting to arrive from the airport since yesterday. Got all the picture poster displays done, candy bar wrappers finished, and the slide show completed. The caterer is ready - I think we are going to have over 100 people at my uncle's home. Sounds like a great party! What do the candy bar wrappers say?

That's funny!! :lmao: That's what I love about us MAYers, we all have different opinions and we all remain friends!! :snooty: :grouphug: You don't find that on many other threads! Oh, believe me, I know, people get crazy! Some people I have just learned my lesson not to discuss with AT ALL :scared1: But sometimes someone has a good experience, someone else has a bad experience...sometimes people's tastes are just different. :confused3 There are a lot of people that love the Mexico CS, and DH and I didn't like it at all -- but that doesn't mean those other folks didn't enjoy it completely! We loved Tangierine and can't wait to eat there again -- but I know a lot of other people wouldn't be thrilled with hummus and couscous -- my DS17 would be :scared: :crazy2: So GOOD -- there's something for everyone!

At Boulangerie, I think we just had pastries, and we loved them...but we wanted to try a lunch there this time -- if our bread is stale, we'll take it back! :rotfl2: For your lunch at DHS...with your kids you might look at the menu for Pizza Planet...I know that a lot of families with kids give that place a big :thumbsup2

THANK YOU! Very well put, Sea...and you know, every time I've had an issue at Disney (which is not very often and almost always minor!) if I asked nicely, they've almost always set things right. We are all so fortunate to be able to go to Disney, I don't expect everything to be perfect, but it's always so magical...that's what keeps us coming back! :goodvibes

:lmao: You're right Sea! It's a vicious world out there on the DIS boards!! absolutely! I'm glad we can share opinions, experiences, and advice without stepping on each others' toes :rotfl2: You guys have given me such good info...I really appreciate all of you!

Great news! I am glad your daughter's teachers recognize her strengths and talents and are are supportive :goodvibes Sounds like she is doing great!

Thanks for sharing NC. That is so great that she got such wonderful teachers this year. That's been our experience with DS9 - teacher placement is the key to his success. Looking forward to a great school year for all of our kids! :wizard: :goodvibes
