It looks like the MAyers lives have been busy as usual.

And yourr trip is so close! I was so shocked to look at my ticker- the time has just flown by! Tell me the run down of anything cool you're planning. I hope hte hurricanes don't blow you off the map. My Mom just left Arkansas headed home to South Carolina and we were laughing about all the hullabaloo going on with the weather channel gang. In South Carolina, we just pull everything out of the freezer and have Hurricane parties in the backyard when the power goes out.:rotfl: However, the hurricanes have increased in the past few years- but we never used to evacuate. Just sat there and muddled thru it.

yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi RF! how are you? So you're moving in with your Dad- I say that it is a very good thing if you can handle it. It will be tough but so worth it in the end to see all 0f that money you save.

So let's see what else-
Mari- you go girl. Back to nursing school? awwwwwwwwwwwww- good luck. It will be so rewarding. I miss my nursing job and all of my patients. I was an allergy and asthma nurse for a while and I loved it.

Shelly- how's the "Burgh??????????? It is so weird to be gone. How are the boys? I know how the first grade thing goes--- it's so sad. Is he handling the long day okay?
Congrats to your son on the accelerated math! That is so awesome!!! We have found that the Seneca Valley school system pretty much stank ----- our kids, who were above average there--- are struggling a bit here. I had read that on a website- kids were leaving SV moving out of state and the parents were devastated to see how far behind their kids were compared to where they moved to.
Belle has been thru it with school- but I'll wait to explain that later- Drew has had separation anxiety (at 9 years old??????????) and Mary Cat's old BFF has turned Goth in the 20 months since we left and MC was shocked to say the least when she saw her. She came home the first day and cried.
Our move has been interesting to say the least.

NC- whoooooo girl. How 'bout them Hogs? They are just struggling so bad. Are you coming up for the Florida game?
We got a lot of rain here from Gustav but no outages. MC's window started pouring rain- it leaked for more than 24 hours. Ahhh the joys of a new home. The builder is awesome though- he came right over to help.
I'm glad your daughter is loving school and has good teachers. That is so important.

Sea- Happy 50th to your folks!!!!!!! wow- a party. I want details. How is Cali doing? Thanks for the Billy Graham thing. It looks so wonderful. How's your wife? The kids?

Sulley- Girl- you must be loving Florida! I hope you can become a permanent resident. We'll come see you in October when we're there.

Wher has Huggie gone????? She left us??????????????

Okay- I will give everyone updaes of the move next time I write. It's been interesting. And then, I will make all of you desire to visit Jackson Hole Wyoming with a picture montage of beautiful scenery.

Hugs to the MAYers!

Mercy Sakes Alive! Jo Bird is back!

Let the bananas dance!

Uh, let me know what was up with MC's window, as the same thing happened with my dining room window. I have now found that water came in somewhere in the attic because Chloe' bathroom has a big wet spot on the ceiling. Oddly enough the insulation in the attic isn't wet. :confused3

The Hogs are gonna struggle all year. The former coach left the team without any talent. Any good players he recruited over the last 2 years, he ran off. I think they all went to USC. So Sea, if USC is having a good year this year and next year, well you know why. :rolleyes1 (of course USC has a good year every year.

As of now, we are going to every Fayetteville game. We were up there last weekend along with 70,000 other Razorback fans and I didn't see you. I even went shopping at the Pinnacle Hills Prominade to see if you were there. You were not anywhere to be found. :sad2: :confused3

Jo

Hey JO - Long time no see! :magnify: :rotfl:

Things are about usual in the Burgh - 60 degrees one day, 90 the next! :lmao:

Sorry to hear your kids are having a hard time adjusting at the new school. I surely believe that about SV schools. I'm so glad we decided not to move there!!

We had sort of the same problem when we moved here. DS9 (7 then) was so far behind the kids here. On top of that he was diagnosed with the ADD that year. Two years later and now he's advanced!! Amazing!! :goodvibes

DS6 had a rough first day of 1st grade. He missed me and thought it was really long. He seemed to do better the rest of the week though. Keeping my fingers crossed that he will continue to adjust more and more each day. :wizard:

Hope everything is okay with Belle.

Good to hear from you! :goodvibes

Hey all.... YAY Jo is Back.....

Well instead of doing just the LPN course i'm going to go back to my old college and finish my RN degree. I know it will be longer but hey what can I do. I told my DH i will get a job at like a retail store or something so that we wont be too tight. I'm so excited. I can't go back until spring semester so i'm looking into volunteering in a hospital in the meantime. Just to get me back in the swing of things.

Jo - Sorry that the kids aren't adjusting to well to the new school. But it is to be expected.

NC - I'm glad the rain has stopped.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I'm going to NC for a couple of days at the end of September. I'm going to visit a high school friend. I need to get away and all i paid was 139 roundtrip... so i couldn't let it go....

Good evening Mayers!

Yay! Jo!

....*deep breath*...oh, and I will be at WDW in 1 week and 6 days!!!

Woohoo! Yay for another Mayer being here soon. It's starting to be noticeably cooler here (or I'm just getting a lot more used to the heat) and if what I'm hearing is any indication all the parks are pretty slow right now.

Awwww----- thanks.

Yeppers, lovin' Florida and on my way to being an official resident....When exactly in October are y'all coming again?

YAY the MAYers are all making their way back to the thread!! :yay:

Now, where's Huggie and Lake???

The boys started their fall soccer season yesterday! It was a great day for soccer, partly sunny and about 70-75. That's the weather I'm hoping for in Florida in January!! :wizard: What do you think Sulley??? You were there last January weren't you? :goodvibes

Mornin' MAYers :hippie:

We worked all weekend - saturday down at my dad's work - and sunday at my apartment packing stuff up to donate to our church and getting rid of trash... :sad2: i keep telling myself that this will all be worth it in the end... ugh...

But, honestly I am trying to stay pretty positive. It is looking like with all of the money that I am making working overtime - our WDW trip is most definately positively ... hopefully :rotfl: going to happen next year :goodvibes

So, everytime that I work a 12 hour day - I am thinking about how awesome it will be to be out of debt - AND how good my Le Cellier dinner will taste before Illuminations :lmao: Hey - it keeps me going at least

What did everyone do this weekend?

That sounds about right for January, though it can definitely be cooler than that. A lot of the time I was comfortable in a sweater and jeans, and I hadn't yet acclimated to the weather down here (now I wear a sweater and jeans if it's 80 and rainy or 70 and sunny....sad but true :)) I really like January because there weren't a lot of crowds and even though it was cool, it was never uncomfortable weather wise.

NC - I'm glad the rain has stopped.

Uh, when I first read that you were going to NC, I thought you meant you were coming to see me.

:rotfl:

Yay for nursing school and starting in the spring. Is your school close to where you live?

Where are they? And JC and some of the other MAYers.

Sounds like you had perfect soccer weather! :goodvibes

What did everyone do this weekend?

Just keep your eye on the prize. That is excellent motivation! :thumbsup2

Friday night we stayed home. Saturday we went to the Razorback game. Sunday was church and then the Dallas Cowboys. I finished putting pockets in my library books. :yay: I am going to take them to the school this afternoon!

Did you ever think you would say a sweater was comfortable on an 80 degree day? :upsidedow You are becoming a Florida girl!

Sea - How was the party? Tell us all about it. popcorn::

Jo - We are ready for your TR. popcorn::

NC - Do you guys have plans brewing for another WDW trip for '09 or are you gonna wait a little while? I don't remember hearing you talk about a plan in the works yet.... popcorn::

RN is even better! :goodvibes Since you don't start 'til spring, will you still make it to your family's trip or will it overlap?

Woohoo! Yay for another Mayer being here soon. It's starting to be noticeably cooler here (or I'm just getting a lot more used to the heat) and if what I'm hearing is any indication all the parks are pretty slow right now.

Yep we'll be looking for you! Do you usually work Orange or Green?

But, honestly I am trying to stay pretty positive. It is looking like with all of the money that I am making working overtime - our WDW trip is most definately positively ... hopefully :rotfl: going to happen next year :goodvibes

So, everytime that I work a 12 hour day - I am thinking about how awesome it will be to be out of debt - AND how good my Le Cellier dinner will taste before Illuminations :lmao: Hey - it keeps me going at least

Hang in there, hon! It will all be worth it in the future...Pixiedust for your next WDW trip! pixiedust: :tink: :smickey:

When you guys plan your ADR's at a resort - (which is where we like to mainly eat) do you plan them to be near the park that you were already at - or where you want to be for evening entertainment??

I am trying to figure out what ADR's we want soon - so I am ready to call when 90 days opens up - I feel like it wil be crazy!!!

I try to plan resort ADR's around what area we will be in that evening. Or I make them for a "free day". Just because resort to resort transportation can take awhile. Although we've really never had trouble getting to where we need to be on time.

For our January trip I scheduled 1900 Park Fare on an evening we will be at MK, so when it is time for dinner we can just take the monorail to the GF and then back to MK. On our free day I scheduled dinner at Chef Mickey's. :goodvibes

hey guys- I'm here! I can't believe I can actually talk to you all. Gosh, have i ever been out of the loop.

Jo
