May 12, 2007 -- Taking the Magic to the Mediterranean -- 14 day Repo Cruise!

Anna, I should get his book. Right now I am training with two days off a week , one long day , one mid distant day, some speed and short mixed depending on how I feel and how much time I have. Would like to cross train more but we have the pups who gotta have exercise, or they are really dingy.

I am dreading winter and training for the WDW 1/2, tread mill is so boring.

13k will be fun at MGM. Wish I would have known sooner about the DVC discounts on race registration. As usual DVC is kinda pokey about getting the info out and I am worried the race will fill up, so we get registered ASAP, before the discount is mentioned. Oh well maybe next year.

"Now that they have this Magic 5 Medals going - I want them all. I have Donald and Minnie and hopefully will get Mickey this year. So then all I will need is Goofy and the Castle"

Wow, that's interesting. I didn't know about all of these until all of you guys. I'm really getting into this and it's keeping me motivated. I've been doing really boring sedentary work since coming home and have gained 5 pounds since we started the cruise in May - MUST get rid of it before school starts as I can't fit into my work clothes!!! I signed up for the Choc walk too at DL - it's a 5k.

Anna, have they announced that they will do the Minnie 5K again at WDW for May 08? I'll be there before the cruise, so I thought I'd do it. I didn't realize it was happening when we were there last year for the repo.

OK out to walk - By the way we just got our first weather report for next weekend and we are having a 15 degree increase (very unusual for us) going up to 90 degrees. We've been between 75 and 80 on the coast and about 85 at DL, so we're really going to get blasted. I'll keep you all updated for next weeks weather.

Thanks for the weather update, will need to watch the fluids.

Scott, I will lend you my book when you come and then you can bring it back your next visit. I think you will like his style. I did two hours today instead of the 90 minutes but I got my 10 miles in. The walk (30 seconds) part was sure a blessing. I wasn't sore afterwards. I walked over to Target and bought a few things. The only 2 exercises he recommends for runners are tummy crunches and arm swings - thank heavens I do both of those. I also bought the "stick" he talked about to get rid of aches and pains. It seems to do the trick.

Kelly, yes the Minnie Marathon will be here when you are here if it is scheduled like last year. I did it. I would love to do it with you this May. Just keep me posted on those plans.

Glad to see a posting from the ship. They must be having a ball - no time to write.

Ken, congrats on reaching your goal. When you started raising money months and months ago I thought you'd never raise that amount but you did. Way to go!!!

The buzzer is going off. I need to get the chicken off the grill. All I eat is chicken - I'm turning into a hen!! I also eat asparagus every single day as my coach said it is the best diuretic. I'm thankful I love the stuff. The hard part of the diet is not eating food after 7 p.m. Coach said 12 more pounds to go and he promises me my knees won't hurt and my times will be faster. We'll see!!!!

Have a great week! Anna

I have a booking that I won't be able to use. I think that it is an on-board booking, so I'd like to move it to another cruise.

Any suggestions?

Any idea when they'll open up the wait list for the next two maiden voyages?

There's several of us (me and Jason, Chris and Rob (scoobypop), Hadley and her family (NHDisneylover), and Sandi & Darrell and their daughter (HoagiePie)) all booked on the Sept. 27th of 2008 Double Dip cruise....and we've been applying heavy pressure to others to join, as well!!!

Oh my goodness. I had been enjoying the pace of this thread since the return, only a few posts a day. Needless to say, I haven't checked since last weekend, and there were 3 pages to catch up on.

So first off--THANK YOU for the Happy Birthday wishes! Don't want anyone to think I was ungrateful for not thanking anybody, I just hadn't been on the thread. A busy week with the birthday and work and all.

HSM2--LOVED! I enjoyed it well enough the first time, but the second time, I liked it even better! It played better upon a second viewing. My only complaint was there was NOT enough Darbus. Unlike Erik, I DID cry. And yes, we're big losers, we watched the Friday night airing, AND the Saturday night airing, AND had it on in the background for the Sunday Sing-A-Long airing. No doubt we will tune in for next week's Dance-A-Long version too :rotfl: Hadley, you will have no trouble getting a copy, since it runs so often. If not, you will be seeing Erik soon enough!

Connie--I may have missed it, but I don't know about your new dream job! Do tell! Nanaguide has my curiosity peaked!

All else is well, just winding down the summer in Vegas. No big trips planned until November for WDW, and a quick getaway in a week and a half to see Wicked in L.A. Everyone else with trips coming up soon, have a blast!!

Take care all, thanks for the entertaining posts!!\

Well, they've dropped the forcast to 88 degrees for Sat and Sun.

I've seen or heard HSM 2 every day since it aired. DD is addicted to it. she brings her microphone out and sings along with it.

Good news Anna. I'll plan to do that with you. We are coming in the week before. Do you know the date for the Minnie? I'm hoping it is 5/4/08.

Th thread was buried back on page three:confused3 Very odd for htis chatty group.

All of you runners are making me tired posting! Keep up the good work. I was pretty tired ust from the dance work at the Pippin audtions last night. Of course I ahev ZERO dance expereince so if I get anything it will be what the director refers to as a "decoration" role:rotfl2: Vocal audtions are tonight:scared: I don't sing. Luckily the kids are having fun and are unphased by all this.

We got the flier detailing the season's offerings at the Concord Center for the Performing Arts yesterday. Mike Super is comming in May!:rotfl2: It is odd to think of seeing him not on a cruise ship. I don't know if we'll let the kids talk us into it or not. The prices seem pretty steep for someone spoiled by just walking into the Walt Disney Theater to see him and I imagine it will be largely the same show.

Confirmed for dinner at Naples 5pm Downtown Disney, Sat. 9/1/07:

Susie 1
Anna 1
Kelly 3
Scott 2
Linda 4
Karen 5

16 total

Did I miss anyone?

Too bad we'll miss the east coast version next week!

Hi everybody!

Kelly: If you're referring to the Sept. 8th post cruise get together: it's a no-go. I got a ton of people emailing me that they can't go, but nobody saying they can go...oh well....

I haven't heard from Karen or Alex lately, anybody know how they are doing? What about Kathy???:confused3

Anna: Wow, I'm impressed with your commitment to running. That's great. I'll have to look for you next time I'm at EPCOT... (or Epcot, I just realized they changed the spelling..)

Jennifer

Hi everybody! :dance3: I haven't really been getting on the DIS boards lately. We've had a very busy summer! Everybody sounds so energetic with all the jogging, running, walking, bike riding! I am just happy to be walking. I'm still having a lot of trouble with my knees. I am having injections now in my left knee because it seems that I don't have any cartilage and my bones are rubbing together. What fun!  I have recently been exercising in the pool. That helps.:fish:

:bday:

to everybody who's big day I missed!
I turned 55:scared1: on Aug. 4th and Chuck and I celebrated our 34th anniversary on Aug. 18! :love2: Hard to believe, since we don't feel like we've grown up at all!

AND! Good news! I LOVE my new job! :cool1:  I am at one of the 9 DCL desks at the resorts....Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Beach Club, Animal Kingdom Lodge,Swan, Dolphin, Riverside, French Quarter and Carribean Beach. Basically, I get the paperwork ready to check in the guests who are doing the land and sea cruises. Then they don't have to stop at the port, and they already have their stateroom keys and everything! We get the kids signed up for the kid's programs, get the luggage sent over to the port. It's a lot of fun! So far I have been at the Grand Floridian, Riverside, Beach Club and Polynesian. Next week I am at the Carribean Beach and the next week I have one day at AKL! My home resort is the Riveride, though. It can get pretty hectic on sail days and now that the Magic is coming back, we might have some cruisers for her too, but not so many as for the Wonder.

Hey, Jennifer, we should just have a "mini meet" at one of the restaurants at WDW! Like the Western Disboarders are having. We could eat at EPCOT or one of the resorts, or at Downtown Disney! That would be a lot of fun!
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

anyway, it's been great! Talk to you everyone later on!

Connie

jerry

Connie-Your new job sounds great. Thanks for telling us about it. And Happy belated b-day an anniversary:)

Jerry-At least check out our meet thread and see all hte fun you will be missing out on before you decide to sail in February instead of joining us on the Double Dip;)

Jerry I can relate, LOL 16 hours Wednesday and 17 hours yesterday, and there is no end in sight. Oh well 2 years 10 months. LOL……How about the 5 night in sept of 08????

Connie the job sounds great, we will have to come and bug ya, pretending to be guests that want something really crazy, or you could give us the high sign when a supervisor is near and we will sing your praises.

In Denver Airport right now waiting for our flights to SLC then SNA and then DL….. Yeah…. Dreading the crowds at DL. So I am setting my what we can do expectations low. Will be great to see some fellow cruisers.

The resturant is haveing a pre race special on 9/2 might talk them into it on 9/1.

Up good and early did a one mile speed training and then a 5K at a 11 min pace. I am ready bring it on …. Then walked a couple of miles with Lynn.

There is Free Internet at the DL hotel How KEWL, are ya listening WDW???????

Looking forward to seeing old friends and new one alike. Later kids I gotta get some coffee and hit the parks early……

Well the Magic is back...... Sounds like their seas were calm, but they had no Mickey bars! Oh the horrors!!!

Can not wait to hear from some of our friends that delivered here safely both ways to get a comparison :)

Watched the air show today. I will have to post some of the 837 pictures that I took! (I am not exaggerating :rotfl: )

Have a nice holiday weekend all!

Debbie

Kids It is Africa Hot here at DL, spent ost of yesterday with Kay, Susie, and Linda’s Crew . We were really surprised that the crowds seemed less than we expected. Maybe the heat has kept folks away.

We had dinere with Kelly, Ann, Karen etc….It is great to see past cruisers.

I really liked the fireworks here at DL.

We are hoping that the mornings stay cool.

Today will be a rest day.

Wish I had signed up for the 5k, the course loks really Kewl. Next year….
