Is there a place where the menus are listed? I saw the movies, and thank you for that. I'd LOVE to see the menus!

i know you can see the regular menus at castawayclub.com but others had links to the menus from the last PC repos....

i have heard that we are getting new menus for our extra nights that are med themed...who told us this???:confused3

DCL really does take care of you...

on our last cruise we had the romance escape at sea package where i ws supposed to get a rose at palo or our breakfast in bed...but i never recd it...i honestly would not have even cared except our room steward kept trying to get us to sign a paper saying that we had rec'd it...guest services told us something happened and all the roses wilted and had to be thrown out...they offered to send us a flower bouquet to our room instead but since it was the last night we told them not to worry about the flowers so they gave us something special instead....

they gave us 2 large martini glasses engraved with the DCL logo and even better they wrapped them in DCL t-shirts in our sizes so they would not break! i guarded those glasses with my life the whole trip home and we use them all the time to drink out of...we don't drink martinis but margaritas taste fine in them! :lmao:

On the Panama Cruises the menus were themed. But not always to the ports. Doing them to the ports would be nice since different areas of Spain have different cuisines. Fish and chips night for Gibralter, Tapas for Cadiz, Paella for Bacelona and I hope we don't get small stuffed yellow birds for the Canary Islands!!!:lmao:

AMEN SISTER!!! (for me not you!) :lmao: :rotfl2: :hippie:

so who was organizing that lose 50 pounds before we cruise diet again.....:lmao:

The 50 pounds in 30 days diet? I think your local eating disorders clinic is heading that diet plan up! ;) :rotfl: :rotfl:

OK OK let's all start looking the mirror daily and collectively say 10 times over...."you are beautiful...you are perfect...you look great".......that way we're practiced so we can remind each other of that when we're all at scoops for ice cream and headed through the lunc buffet for the 4th time in one afternoon! :rotfl2:

Hi txaggie94gigem

We were on the Magic 17th March and were told by two crew members that the menus will be changing to a med theme as we cross the sea. Should be interesting, (as I am from the UK all sorts of weird menus spring to mind). I understand that some menus were being tried out on the Wonder before our cruise.

We also had a romance package on the last cruise - I was given a rose in Palo but it looked poorly, and by the time I got back to the room the rose petals were falling off. We too kept getting asked to sign for each element of the package before we had had it.

Oh, haven't you heard? The new Casteaway club gift is a long tube that attaches to the ice cream machine and reaches to the lounge chair of your choice! No getting up! The pricier rooms also get a smaller tube for toppings. I heard category one gets sprinkles, too!

That's right Erik, I'm beautiful! and I'm not fat, I'm vuluptuous. and I wish i could spell that.

I'm hesitant posting this because I'm not trying to to start an argument. I want us to be friends on the cruise....:)

Palos is modeled after Disney Signature restaurants such as the California Grill and Citricos. $40-50 plus drinks per person.

The idea that Disney calculates the value of a Palos dinner including appetizer and desert at $13.33 ($2 tip) is simply incorrect.

The best sources I could find said specifically that the $10 charge went directly to the serving staff (Passporter.com Guide Books) and was handled this way because of the difficulty passengers would have trying to estimate a value for their meal.

For a table of 3 = $30 which would be 15% of a $200 check

$200 for 3 persons is pretty close to the mark I think.

The reason I tip more is that we do not drink and I know that servers rely on this for part of their income so I always add something.

Well, we can ask the head server again. We asked on the 11 night on the Wonder and they told us the servers got about $2 and the other $8 went for extra food costs. So maybe they aren't telling the truth so we leave a bigger tip?

LOL Ok I almost fell out of my chair at this one.....but I'm not sure which is more disturbing....the idea itself or the fact that I find it so appealing!! MUWAHAHAHA (That's my online Ursula the Sea witch laugh!)

Hi I have just tried to PM you but I keep getting an error.

Its my husbands birthday whilst we are on the med cruise.

He will be 30 years young on the 18th may.

His name is Martin Riley and he is not registered on the board.

We are in room 8586.

Do you need anything else?

Lindsay

Got it. I think it has to do with the number of posts you have so far. Keep posting and you will be able to send PM's in no time at all.

i don't know...i honestly think most of us have already been working hard to try to get more people on this cruise...it is cheaper than a 3 day!!! i am hoping it will drop about $500 more by 30 days out......

Yep, I'm taking our daughter Jamie this Thursday on the Wonder for her 15th birthday and I told DH this morning, that we almost paid more for the 3 night cruise than for him and I on the 14 night!

They are almost paying us to go! But, like others have said I think the service and quality will be just as high as always. Why? Partly because some people in the high end rooms did pay a lot for this trip and deserve to get their $$$ worth. Also, there are many newbies on this trip. It is in DCLs best interest to impress all of the new cruisers and build their client base to fill those new ships (and keep the rest of us comming back for more also). Cutting the service/quality would be a terrible PR move and very unDisneylike. I have no worries.

Just remember how much money they are still making on their kickbacks for excursions booked through Disney, the bar, 6 days at sea playing bingo and all the merchandise we will be buying since we can shop non-stop 6 days in a row.

They aren't losing any money. Even if they get more people to book to fill the ship they will make up for it once they are on!

I just got off the phone with my Costco TA. He was checking on the latest $200 drop for a Cat 12 GTY.

After talking to Disney he said this was the deal. He said Disney could not give him a price because Accounting/inventory control was in a meeting and making multiple pricing reductions to many cabins and that he was instructed to call back after 3 pm when they would have the list published.

He said we would qualify for the reduction and we would keep our Palo reservations, excursions and assigned rooms.

He will call me later today with the details after he has confirmed everything.

I got the distinct impression the reductions were not exclusive to cat 12 GTY this time and maybe, just maybe, higher categories will get a break too. Only seems fair to me.

Then again maybe this is all a false alarm.

We shall see.

----------------------

If some one is contemplating joining this cruise and the book through Costco and the $200 discount is accurate then the final price for 4 persons would be

2135.44 - $200 Costco cash card = $1,935.44

and a single in a cabin (approximate)

1390.86 - $200 Costco Cash Card = $1,190.86

For the cost of a room at All Star Resorts..... This has to be the bargain of the century and the final reduction may be more than $200.

Oh, that's good, cuz I heard it was a pool chair that you get to keep and you take from your stateroom to the pool. It has your name and stateroom number on it. And the best thing about the chairs is they are color coded to match the category you are staying in just like the DCL stateroom map.
