Susie, if you take the magical express to the All Star Movie resort you can go to the party with us and then the next morning drive to the port with us. That way you don't have to waste the money on the car rental (or the hassle) My dad is driving (at a snail's pace I'm sure) but there is plenty of room!
I just made my reservation at All Star Movies. Thank you Kelly!

Susie (again)--Did you go to the Avis website? I made reservations for our two cars this morning with no problems. We are picking up at MCO on the 11th and returning at the port on the 12th for $29.94 with tax per car. Yes, we are going with subcompacts--we don't really need the space--if the luggage fits in the our Focus to get to the airport it will still fit in the rental car also. They showed availability on on classes except luxury SUV.
Interesting. What I did was go through the Costco link to their site and it showed no availability. Maybe it was just because I was looking for the discount. Anyway I won't need the car now since Kelly has so generously offered to give me a ride to the port.

I think they are having computer problems.....I wanted to check my schedule for work, and it won't come up, I tried to go online with DVC yesterdayand today, and they are "out of service". I haven't looked at DCL today, so I don't know about that. :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

You are not alone! I'm having problems too when checking the DCL website. It is probably Inventory Control doing something!

Hubby is booking travel to Florida for work, will work Friday down there, which he needs to do anyway, thus reducing the cost of hotel, his airfare and car rental. Whew. We still have no airfare. I'm thinking of packing a blow up raft to float back home..and life preservers...for safety, ya know.

I miss a day and now whew, lots to catch up on!

Amazing about the additional price drop, I have a request in with my TA.

I also tried to get a price for air for one person, for a reference point in case we decide to try to bring my mom (in her own gty 12 cabin). The website would not let me do it, so I called. Interestingly, DCL is now not offering air for this cruise! With a paid reservation, they will "research" air and give you a price if they find something, but do not guarantee that they can provide air. I'm sure we'd do better price-wise on our own (will look tonight), but I wonder if this is also discouraging people from booking. The CM I spoke with said they close off airfare about a month out, and my sense, although she didn't come out and say it, is that the non round-trip nature of our air made them cut it off earlier bc it's more challenging for them to deal with than round-trip. As I said, I wonder what effect this has on the attempt to fill up cabins at this point and all the price reductions. But WOW for us!!!

Linda, sadly, I think I'd like both gifts, regardless of color. The chair and the ice cream conveyer (I've named it!).

Not to bring up religion or all that represents--cuz I already like everyone here and don't want to cause problems--but is anyone here LDS? Just curious. It was the SLC comment that sparked curiousity. Now don't kill the cat, please!

Robert and I are LDS. You will see us partying just as much as everyone else. I just always have a Diet Coke in my hand! A bunch of our friends we cruise with usually bring their own wine on board and have a glass of wine with their dinner each night.

We met a bunch of LDS cruisers on the PC cruise in 2005 once we were on board.

I went to Kayak.com this morning because Robert's daughter thought she might come with her small kids and book a stateroom (she won't though, because she doesn't have passports for her three little kids and then she would have to fly home alone with her kids and leave her hubby at home). But anyway, airfare from Barcelona to Orlando one way on May 26 is $523 as of this morning.

Thanks cupcake. I was about to call about airfare. I'll have my husband book the fares he found last night. The blow up raft idea was good:idea: , but i forgot my 2 year old can't swim yet :rolleyes1 , so it'd be a little risky. Ya know, when I am tempted to throw him off the raft after the first two hours...with a bored two year old.:hourglass :scared:

I'll be partying right along with y'all, but sans coke. I find that when I'm beep bopping, shish kabooming around, it sloshes all over me!!!:lmao: :dance3:

Okay, so just for a point of reference if we need it, cuz you never know what IC will come up with out of the shoebox they work out of:

Here are the prices for 2 adults, including transfers and insurance (so adjust accordingly for those) as of right now on the DCL website. We will have to check later today to see what IC did:

Cat 12-$2306
Cat 11-$4506
Cat 10-$5106
Cat 9-$5906
Cat 8-$6506
Cat 7-$7706
Cat 6-$7906
Cat 5-$8106
Cat 4-$8706

I've never seen every cat from 4-12 available this close to sailing. WOW.
Okay, so now I have it down in writing on the disboards so I know where to find it when, and if, the prices drop again.

This is strange... I just checked the Disney site and the cat 12 gty for 4 without transfers and insurance is $2800 something? In other words it has gone up from the last round of cuts. We are at $2335.44 now.

Even stranger I just checked again no more than 5 minutes later and cat 12 are no longer listed....

Weird stuff going on.

I just checked and am getting the same prices Linda shows....although it would not surprise me if they are mucking around with stuff...:surfweb:

LOL...can't hold me drinks!

If you take off transfers, the two extra people ($200) and insurance, it should be about right, I think.

Sorry, but what is SLC?

Jen

oops, sorry, i should've read better. I need to go accomplish something. I've been procrastinating putting shelves in my IkEA PAX closets, such a pain! Could ya tell I was escaping on here??? Clearly, I need to go live my life.

Does anyone have a count of how many kids are sailing with us and the rooms?

Plus, do any of the kids have allergies or diabetic?

I was going to stop at Target after Easter and load up on goodies for the kids. Maybe make treat bags for each child.

Does anyone have an offense if any candy or items are Easter or "spring" related. Basically bunnies and eggs, etc...
I will try and get non-Easter items, but the candy is going to be so cheap, I don't want to pass up a good bargin!

If anyone is putting together a list of "gifts for kids", let me know!
Thanks!

Jen

I sent you a pm. (Sorry for the double pm)
