I have a question for those that have done the Disney cruise before. DW and I had an idea last night, instead of dropping off a Tshirt or Pillow case for the characters to sign do you think they would sign an 8X10 picture matt if I just gave them that? We were thinking to get an 8X10 picture frame that would have a 5X7 whole for a picture in it. Give them a good pen to sign with in Black on a white matt then put a picture of the DS in it as a keep sake.

Opinions? Would they do it?

Cheers!!

Pat

Hi!

I really like the Sanford airport. I flew out of there last year to Scotland on Flyglobespan (seeing a pattern here?) The price was $99 each way, not something you can pass up on! So I am flying them back to here. I would rather much fly into Sanford and be 10 minutes from home than fly into Orlando and take 2 hours with luggage and driving!

I am so glad your taking both of them, I'll have true neighbors with me!

Many people do this. I think there is an entire thread about it somewhere. It comes out really cute. The only problem is packing the matte so that it does not get bent, etc. on the LONG flight home. Also, chekc hte marker you get to be sure it does not bleed on the type of paper used for the matte--I'd get something acid free as you will be putting a photo in it.

We did that last year and it turned out great!

I'm going to enlist little Rio in an onboard "education" program....and anyone we learn has NOT watched the film we will be jointly re-enacting it from beginning to end on your dinner table during a meal....so be warned!!!

Now this is something we'd like to see at our dinner table! We love dinner theatre!!

TV Junkies? You're all amateurs, I assure you! I'm almost ashamed to confess what a horrible TV fiend I am

OK, I shouldn't even say how bad we are, but remember I am a multi tasker. We have 9 TV's, 3 with TIVO that are so full that this fall we started making DVD's of the entire series to watch during the summer. Since the majority of my work is at home, I have a TV next to my desk, so I never miss anything. We have the full array of channels on each TV so we can go from room to room. We are bringing our DVD player with us and the 17 inch computer to watch movies. Also, we are bringing about 50 movies with us to get caught up. I'm also a news junky. Before I went into film school and multi camera comedy TV for a career; I was very close to going into news, but soon realized I would never have a life outside of the newsroom. A lot of our TV watching has to do with getting information for our work and research, but the rest is just fun.

Ok everyone, let me formally introduce myself, My name is Apryl and I live in Sanford, FL. No kids, no hubby wubby, just me. I'll be with friends on the Repo but alone on B2B. I don't know what cabin # yet on the B2B, but as soon as I do, I'll holler about it!

Welcome Apryl, there are 10 families doing the B2B cruise, so you are welcome to come with us anywhere you would like to join. Have you found the other thread for the May 26th? Make sure you get your excursions done on the 11night.

Cayla, have fun on the NYC outing, we will be at Goofy's kitchen for Zoe's 4th birthday party!

re: Secret Santa, I don't know if I can squeeze one more thing into my list of things to do. But if everyone else can do it, I will too.

Congrats on the passport people we have a few more to go to get everyone on the boat.

Hadley-----I heard a rumor that they might show "High School Musical" on the big huge screen by the pool after dark one night....so tell Rio to cross his fingers and toes with me in hopes they do (I bet that big screen is connected to a DVD player of some kind so maybe we can con them into showing it if someone brings the DVD...:lmao: ) I'll so bring a pair of tigger PJ's and hang out on deck watching it with all the kids!!

I forgot to officially welcome our new cruisers....so :welcome:!!!

:tigger:

Erik

Erik-last cruise they actually showed it in the middle of the day on the big screen and had a big deck pool party along with it for the kids. I have envisioned you on this cruise being right up there with the CM's showing them the dance steps and moves as you re-enact the whole thing.

Too bad DD Jamie isn't coming. I would make her get up and teach the younger kids the dance routine, but I am sure you will have it all under control! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Not a problem. I have my Mickey hands autographed by all the characters on the cruise ship and they are proudly displayed in my Disney Curio Cabinet at home.

One suggestion on the mat-you might want to purchase your frame prior to going on the cruise. Put the mat in the frame and check it out. Then buy some removable blue painter's tape and tape the edges around the mat that will be under the edge of the picture frame. That way you won't have any signatures under the edge of the frame!

Okay, I have never seen this...movie? Nor do I know anything about it! In fact...funny story, now that I know what it is (sort of, :scratchin not really):

We went to WDW last October and in Tomorrowland at MK they had a stage show called "High School Musical". It was really hot and this guy is up on stage singing and wearing a long sleeve sweater. I commented to my dh about how hot he must be and how I felt really bad for him. He said something like that is the price these people have to pay to do that sort of thing. Well, we weren't watching the show, just passing by and I kept thinking about how all those poor high school students had to sing and dance in this hot weather. I also wondered which high school had the honor of getting to do a show at WDW. :rotfl: What a dork I am! :headache:

My dh knew it was a show put on by WDW, but I didn't. In fact, he doesn't know that is what I was thinking until now. :wave2: (hi honey!)

Just thought I'd share my ignorance since I seem to be the only one who knows nothing about this show. Ha! Rio, I need to borrow your movie while we're on the ship...I'll be bringing my portable DVD player!

Have you seen Grease with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John? Well HSM, could be considered the Grease of 2006. And actually, HSN was filmed here in Salt Lake City and our daughter Jamie (15 next month) is in the movie as a background actor. They filmed here in Salt Lake in July-August, 2005 and the film debuted on the Disney Channel in January, 2006.

Right now the filming is actually taking place for HSM II. Only one little part was filmed in SLC and it took only a couple of days. Right now they are filming in St. George Utah for four weeks. Jamie has been called twice to do background work, but she has had dance competition and has turned them down. She can't abandon her dance team during competition. Her half-sister lives in St. George so she is on the list to be called again, but we are going on a DCL cruise over spring break, so don't know if she will end up doing anything in HSM II or not.

HSM, Haunted Halloween, is suppose to start filming later this year. That will be the third HSM movie out. Not sure if they will come to Salt Lake again or not. Disney does alot of filming here because we are close to California and we are a non-union state, so they can hire pretty cheap!

:cool1: We have are flight info too!!:cool1:
I am excited to say the flights are great! Only one stop each way!

It just makes things more real. Now if we only had the kid's passports!;)

I guess I better start checking the kids summer clothes. I believe they have out grown all their shorts and tops from last year. I think the boys will also need at least one more pair of dress pants for dinner.

Go to the main cruise site and check out the WARNING to Med Cruisers - it's pretty scarey!!!

For those that know Kay and Harry Russell, here is the information on Harry's passing:

Harry's obituary is now on-line. Here is the link if you would like to see and sign in on the guest book.

I have had some of our fellow disboarders ask how they contribute for flowers or a gift. The family has requested that memorial gifts may be made in his memory to Hospice Care of Southeast Florida, Inc. 309 SE 18th St., Fort Lauderdale, FL33316 or you can go directly to their website at
https://www.hospicecareflorida.org/form-payments.htm

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kay and family during this difficult time.

I'm sorry you misunderstood me -- everything at WDW is real! Didn't you know that?! Oh yes, I'll have fun with this...

Wait -- am I at work?! :rolleyes1

Gydell--WHERE did you find the HSM toothbrush??? Rio finally has his first loose tooth (almost 8 1/2--poor kid) and this would be a great thing for the toothfairy to leave under his pillow. The dentist's best guess was he'd loose it mid to late May (just like him to loose his first tooth on the Magic).

Walmart has them. They are called tooth tunes. They have lots of different songs to choose from. I got - Let's Get the Party Started - HSM - and Sun, Sun, Sun(Beach Boys). You will know when we are brushing our teeth on the cruise! If you can't find one let me know and I can pick one up for you. They are $2 something.

Darn it! I was afraid you would say Wal-Mart. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that Target will have them as well. I'll be down in Concord Friday and will check Target then. Thank you for the information.

It is very spring like here today. After doing a bit of digging in the basement we have discovered that Marika's roller skates from last year fit Rio and my blades (origianlly a Christmas gift in highschool--1990 I believe:scared1: ) fit Marika. So, the car has been pulled out of the garage (no pavement on the driveway or the road out here in the boonies) and the kids are skating around happily. I hope you all are experiencing a lovely day as well--I'm going to get out there and play now too!
