Welcome Lori and Crew....

Busy Week ahead will try to keep up.

The outlet we go to is at the Outlet mall, I think it is Crossroads, and is called the Character Outlet. about 15 min from WDW, might be the same one Mary is talking about.

Hadley-----I heard a rumor that they might show "High School Musical" on the big huge screen by the pool after dark one night....so tell Rio to cross his fingers and toes with me in hopes they do (I bet that big screen is connected to a DVD player of some kind so maybe we can con them into showing it if someone brings the DVD...:lmao: ) I'll so bring a pair of tigger PJ's and hang out on deck watching it with all the kids!!

I forgot to officially welcome our new cruisers....so :welcome:!!!

:tigger:

O.K., I just checked. It is not Skype that they say is blocked, but VOIP. I have VOIP at home (which I am sure many have if you have Comcast, Vonage, or AT&T digital phones) and it works great. I am not sure how they would block that, but that is what the new Passporter says. Skype sounds like a great idea!

I'll be at WDW Thurs - Sat this week - anyone else? :mickeyjum

I, too, am an OffKilter fan (we first saw them early in their Epcot appearance), so I'll be at Epcot on Thurs. I'll be wearing my Cruise shirt from CafePress if anyone spots it/me.
It's Spring Break so I have time to stock up on Disney stuff for the cruise!

Does anyone think people are starting to jump from cruise ships for the attention? Any deeper than 25ft and I think you'd run a good chance of NOT getting picked up! At least it's not the N. Pacific - you'd be an icicle in no time (used to live in Oregon).

Excitement is mounting in my household; of course, I'm the only human here, so it's not a real loud excitement. The cats have no clue, but they do love "mousies". Definitely Not Mouseketeer material! :earboy2:

There is a Character Connections store at the Buena Vista Factory Stores south of I 4 on 535. There's a Disney Character Premier at the Prime Outlets Orlando (which used to be called Belz). another Disney Character Premier at the Premier Outlets (just off I4 and 535 near Dixie Stampede.

That’s the one by Dixie Stampede ……. Thanks Muchas.

Re People jumping off ships, I think the male part of the last couple was in shall I say a state of complete disrobe…….:scared1: :rolleyes1 :scared1:

I called regarding the cruise and what was the cheapest way to get phone service. He recommended using Skype (I think someone here mentioned it, too)

http://www.skype.com/

You call through the computer. All you need is a headset and the calls go straight through to the states!

Hi,

I can't remember where I saw this, but I remember reading that DCL blocks Skype somehow. I think I might have read it in the Passporter that just came out - I will check when I get the chance. I could be wrong, but I wanted to warn everyone just in case....

I think they do block Skype aboard. They didn't at first but now I think it is blocked. There was some calls made with Skype on the return Panama Canal Cruise in 2005. I sure wish it works as I use Skype

Oh I will be there :) Sitting on Randy's side. I will look for you :) Hopefully next weeks schedule will be the one they use in May. It will change because of F&G festival

Cupcake - When did you originally submit yours and what state are you in? Jeannine did hers 6 weeks ago tomorrow in California and the status site has nothing on it yet. Did her normal, not priority. I am thinking that she should be calling the end of this week if it isn't here. She was quoted 4-6 weeks.

Thanks!!

Laura

I was quoted 6 weeks, but the site ended up saying 10 once I turned up on it. I got mine today!!!!! I applied 1/21 in Chicago, IL, at a post office downtown. I would be concerned if she is not on the site yet. It says applications should be reflected there in, I think, two weeks. I would confirm that and (sorry) call if hers is not appearing. I recommend calling off peak from a phone with speaker where you can do something while you wait, bc call volumes are not good (this is from my hairdresser, who spent much quality time on hold with the passport folks). They do have slow email responses, but it seems weird to me that nothing's there at this point.

Neurotically yours,
C.

Fingers (and toes) are crossed as he drifts into dreamland. The thought of seeing it on a BIG screen is almost too much for him. if someone brings the DVD. What do you think our kids will be watching on the plane?:rotfl:

Wow! My dh has conferences in Las Vegas a lot. And what better way to say "I love you" than to go shop at a Character Warehouse for me?!?

Does anyone know where the outlets are in relation to the Strip? (he is in various hotels with big conference centers there). He says he has always cabbed it since the airport is close. Hopefully the outlets are not too far and he can get a deal on a car that costs the same so he can charge it in! I love hitting the outlets near WDW, it is always a highlight. (I am glad someone posted better directions than I could have, if not, I was going to ask my dh to do it). I'm just sorry that the Fitz & Floyd outlet in the Belz outlets closed; btwn the multiple Disney outlets and that, I was in heaven!

Thanks for thinking of me and my passport woes, btw. I am so relieved to have it! Plus now I get to fill out our criuse docs, which makes everything that much more real!

Either sending it ahead of time due to luggage constraints or bringing it on board. Just in case anyone isn't whipped up into enough of a frenzy!!! party:

If anyone's interested, I would be happy to coordinate. It's getting closer! (and did I mention, I got my passport today?!?! :) ).

There is one on Las Vegas Boulevard aka "the Strip. Just head toward Mandalay Bay and keep going a couple miles. It is past the "Welcome to Las Vegas" sign, which was cool to get a picture of.

Here is the address which you can map

Disney's Character Warehouse Outlet Store
Annex at Las Vegas Factory Outlets
7680 Las Vegas Blvd. South, Annex Suite 211
Las Vegas, NV 89123

Welcome to Lori and the gang, not sure if my son would let me leave him at home for a trip like this. I think he would kill me first :)Pat

DD was selected for the People to People Student Ambassador Program and will be traveling to France (but not DL), Greece and Italy for three weeks this summer. We gave her the choice to go if she wanted to pay her portion of the Disney Cruise, as she is working, but she decided that saving the spending money for the trip and having to fund raise about $600 for her summer trip was enough.

What is this?

Cupcake!!!

From your mouth to the State Depts Ears...she actually updated this afternoon after I left work. She checked herself and started reading to me that she had an actual tracking number. I thought she was yanking my chain! But nope, she is now online...so hopefully she will get hers soon. It has been 6 weeks but even if it takes 10, she will get it about 2 weeks before we leave. Plenty of time....:lmao:

Actually if it is not in her hand by Friday I told her that she had to get her fanny on the fone and talk to those folks and find out where it is!!!

Hey Cupcake...

Secret Mickey by postal mail before or Secret Mickey onboard?

FYI - Secret Mickey is like Secret Santa....

Hello Everyone!! :goodvibes I am a newbie as you will see below!!

This is my FIRST Disney Cruise
This is my FIRST Transatlantic
This is my FIRST Repo
This is my FIRST Mediterranean
This is my FIRST B2B!!!

I've only taken one cruise before and let's just say it wasn't even close to fun! I have been following the boards here for about a week just to get the hang if it. I haven't seen HSM but I will now! I am traveling with friends on the Repo but will be alone on the B2B so I hope to get to know all of you very well! :woohoo:

After the B2B I will be staying in Barcelona overnight at the Tryp Barcelona Aeropuerto (very good price) then I will catch a flight to Glasgow on FlyGlobespan, stay one night and then fly back home to Orlando on Flyglobespan as well. Total flight cost is about $300.00! This is all very last minute, I made my first payment on the 14th and my final today!!!:upsidedow

OK, so someone tell me about Pirate Night and costumes. pirate:

Also, I heard somewhere that we meet everyday on deck to do something?

When I think of the other hundred and one things I'll post more!

Welcome!!!!! Check out page 143 for some important information!! We made our reservations very last minute and got a price adjustment last week!!

Ok, veteran of 2 Disney cruises (which makes me such a slacker compared to some) so Pirate night is when most everyone dresses up in either their favorite pirate outfits, or in some cases because of packing considerations, their favorite Pirate shirt (I am going that route) and there is a big deck party and Captain Hook tries to take over the ship! It is really fun. Bring your camera and prepare to have fun!!!

I know people are talking about playing bunko in the adults area on deck and some other games. Also on embarkation day there is a meet to meet up and pick up lanyards, etc...more info on that on page 143.

How's that for a start???
