:goodvibes The message boards look great, BUT we are not centrally located, either. WE are clear at the back of the ship, so we might not be the best room for messages. If there is someone more central, go ahead and do it. I dont' mind, of course. O 'course we ARE very near the back stairs up to the buffet and the drink station!

AND WE HAVE GREAT NEWS!!!! OUR SON, MICHAEL, IS COMING ON THE CRUISE!!!!     He is on deck 6 room 6139. He does need 'his own space' for 2 weeks!

So now he needs airfare to get home. I haven't been reading the airfare messages. Where is the best place to find cheap airfare from Barcelona?

Congrats on talking your son Michael into the cruise. That will be so nice for all of you and now you can go to Palo too:love: .

www.sidestep.com and www.kayak.com are both great places to start for cheap airfare. When I was looking around, it seemed like Boston and JFK tended to have the cheapest airfares. Swiss and Aer Lingus seemed to come up a lot. Try different airports into the US and then look for a discount carrier from there. Spirit airlines is having $8 fares to various different places and southwest is also having some good sales.

Goodmorning all and welcome Greg and his secret family... do give them time enough to prepare. The preparation is what is killing everyone with how much there is to plan.

I've been trying to keep track of our special events during this cruise. Will everyone check this list and fill in the blanks that I may have missed.

cupcake May 21 is our 16th

roserae Ours is May 22nd. 15th wedding anniversary

elderfam
May is our anniversary month as well! May 2 will be 14 amazing years! Hoping for 50 more of the same! OOPs There having a baby instead!!!

hksilverfox
This will be our first Disney cruise and we are doing it for our 25th wedding anniversary (May15th) and our DD's 14th birthday (May 22nd). GREG

Milestogo: anniversary May 27 (we’ll be on the 11 night)

Thanks for doing this. I am keeping track on the spreadsheet so I can give it to Linda for the mini-navigator. I did add a couple of things to the list.

Also, Elderfam cancelled

My :rolleyes1 th birthday is right before the cruise, so I will be sorta celebrating on the cruise.

Peter (Hygeine99) has a birthday right before the cruise also, but sadly they won't be on the cruise.:sad2:

And when is your Birthday Bob? Mine is shortly before too :)

I will be doing an update to the roster soon. Have a few new additions.

Cupcake.... do you have your Mom's info for the roster. I would be happy to add her name.

Thanks![/COLOR]

Yeah! That's the first thing we thought about! Talk about self centered! :rotfl2: We transferred some miles into our mileage plus account, so he can use the FF miles to get home!

OH6 volunteered for deck 7 and they are centrally located so that is probably good.

eller - you really are in the very back. Unless someone is using the secret staircase into the buffet they are not likely to go back that far. Anyone else want to volunteer for deck 8? If we don't get a centrally located door, maybe we can go with one aft and one forward. That might be best for deck 6 also.

Where are the deck 5 volunteers? I know there aren't very many of you but you are all close together at least. I have myself, Elizabeth, and Kelly for deck 2. I don't know where Elizabeth is located, but Kelly is centrally located. I suspect that since I'm travelling solo, I won't actually be upgraded so I'm probably going to be forward on deck 2.

I can do Deck 5... for all 3 of us LOL

And I will have the spreadsheet printed out, so if there are room changes we can use that to keep track.

Hey Susie, those are adorable! Kathy is on Deck 6 midship and I'm sure she won't mind putting it out on her door. They are on their way out to SD right now and haven't had anytime to make door signs. Since I plan to move from deck two wherever I end up I will still be a door person (shooting for deck 6 or 7!)

Hey all of our gay and lesbian friends: our channel 7 ABC news reported big news from Disneyland today (if you haven't already heard) Disneyland (and I assume WDW) and the Disney Cruise Line will now be doing same sex wedding ceremonies to accommodate all of their requests.

Way to use the checklist Anna. I've been cleaning Zoe's room like crazy for the folks who may be sleeping in my house while we are gone. Pulling junk out for garage sale and everything for cruise is going into the gym for packing.

Debbie, I'll send you the list I have for you to cross check for the special events. But Zoe is driving me crazy to play on my computer right now - man do I regret ever starting that new phase!!!

What exactly do we need to commit to to be a message door? Other than the space for the message board thing? I have to contend now with this gargantuan fish extender I made...but we're not going crazy (yet) with any kind of door signage really...so Jason and I could volunteer our door as long as someone told us what to do (or is someone else responsible for going around and updating them or whatever....what's the protocol for how that happens?). We are in 8056 which is about 1/2 way between the midship and aft elevators...and it appears we're relatively close to a few clusters of other DisBoard rooms.

Really? because the Walt Disney WORLD resort just got major press in mid March (a couple weeks ago) because they are DENYING these kinds of weddings/commitment ceremonies. I did a search and couldn't find a link to the new information....Kelly...if you happen to find it posted online anywhere as an article or a press release...send it my way...I'd be curious to check it out!

Yea! I was hoping you'd post a picture. I'm just not the one to help you with posting it.

Erik (and anyone else who cares)--there is a longish thread about the new weddings policy over on the Gay and Lesbian forum. I have been popping over to read new entries all day. There are some weddings already being planned (and some sweet stories:love: Rick's story abotu Joe's reaction had me almost as choked up as your story about you and Jason at Palos on your anniversary ). There was also a thread in the DCL forum this morning briefly which was ended after it turned into an unfortuante debate.

Ok, I have the design for our door sign done. But I need to get to the fabric store tomorrow and get stuff for our fish extender.

Scott sorry to hear you are living at another airport!! My friend called me from TN to tell me she was going to have a white Easter:confused:

Can't wait to meet everyone. 35 days!!! YEAH!!!
