The message board looks fabulous!!! I absolutely love it - you are soooo talented. I wil buy one from you! Let me know. I am in cabin 6636!
You don't have to buy one - just volunteer to be the Message Board room for deck 6!

Help! Can someone tell me what night everything is scheduled to be on....pirate night, formal, semi formal, etc.

I know I have seen all these items listed before and I wrote them down.;) But, now I can seem to find my list.:rolleyes1

It's all on page 143 at the top. I think I end up checking that page for some reason or other almost every day!

Okay, let's see how much I remember to respond to. . . I took the afternoon off the boards to dye Easter eggs with the kids (a project not related to the cruise--it felt so odd).

Susie--The message boards look great! They will be an awesome way for the whole group to keep in touch.:thumbsup2

DizzneyDAnn--Padalyn is right about the sheets. They are so much nicer now than they used to be.:cool1:

Anna--I sympathize with you. Just tell the swim coach your DD can practice along side the boat every day:laughing: Rio's dance school was none too happy that he will miss the technical rehearsals for the recital. He will make the dress rehearsal though and they JUST MOVED PICTURE WEEK TO THE WEEK WE RETURN. I love my photos of him in costume surrounded by his harem (he's usually the only boy, though there are two others in hip hop this year!). Luckily Marika's karate school was really nice and let her go to double classes to get in enough time to earn her blue belt in time for April's test. They aren't running tests in June and we are gone for the May tests. So she woudl have been delayed two months otherwise.

Erik--the Mickey shirts will have to be included in the fashion show also;)
I am trying to visualize a fish extender/dry erase board/bullitan board combo. Between shirts, ties and ultra fancy fish gear you can quit your day job and live well jus tselling cool toys to all of us DCL freaks:rotfl2: If it doesn't fit on the fish you can always hang it off of the room number circle.

Connie--:cheer2: 60 year old Cindyrella:cheer2:

Yeah it looks real great! So remind me what are hte message boards about? Are these the boards that a select group of folks on each deck are all going to post outside their doors so that we can use them as group bulletin boards?

Erik
:tigger:
Yes - we still need volunteers for all decks except deck 2.

For all that think I am talented, just get a copy of Disney's Magic Artist Deluxe software. I just checked and it is available on Amazon as "used and new" for $3.99. I got it because it was recommended for making DCL door signs. It has two sections - one is sort of a dumbed down version of photo shop but with the capability of adding lots of extras. My grandson likes to fill the whole screen with animated worms (go figure). The other section is stock images in about 20 different themes. Each of the themes include backdrops, dressed up images of the 6 main Disney characters (the fab 5 plus Daisy), and some additional items like beach balls in the beach theme or pirate chests in the pirates theme. You can import your own images also.

For the bottom of the board, I took the boat deck from the travel theme and added Mickey and Minnie from the Mardi Gras theme.

One disadvantage that I encountered with this project is that you can only design in landscape and I wanted to use portrait. So I did the design and exported it to a file and then imported it into photoshop to finish it up. The other main disadvantage is that help is not available interactively, but in a separate file on the CD. And a lot of stuff is not intuitively obvious - so you really need the help file. I found the file by accident. It was not mentioned at all in the instructions.

gee - doesn't that just sound typical Disney??

I had volunteered to be the door for deck 6 a while ago - but I think I got lost in the sauce!!

Let me know if you need my door - since I am starting my door decoration making this weekend.

I managed to get the taxes done

getting some money from the fed...hooray :thumbsup2 - paying the state as usual :confused3

I pay extra EVERY pay period to avoid this and still end up owing them...

Susie--We do not mind being the message room for deck 6. But, we are at the very, very end of the hall way, not central at all. We are 6002. So, we will do deck 6 if no one else will, but if there is somewhere out there who is more centrally located who would like to be "it" I think that will be better (Hoagie Pie, how's 'bout it?)

We cruised in November, and the sheets weren't great then. Have they changed them since? If it were even a week, I wouldn't worry, but two is a longtime. I'm not picky with much--but nice sheets are more important to me than nice clothes. I know, weird. I'm happy with my jeans and t-shirts and Birks, but I must have my good sheets. :)

Padalyn--you and I were typing at the same time. You go girl, take deck 6:banana:

he he he

Like you I am off to one side and and end...not sure that will work out - we are aft near the elevators.

if the sheets had pale stripes they are the new ones. They were beige and had the woven stripes in them. I found them to be fine - but I can sleep standing up when tired enough!! :rotfl:

Years ago I learned to sleep with sirens overhead - not a lot will keep me from meeting the sandman when I am tired...and these cruises are exhausting!!!:rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Padalyn--we are about as far apart as we could be on the same deck aren't we? We are all the way fore, so I still think you should have it--seems that people are more likely to be aft most of the day (and you are near elevators).:rolleyes1

DizzneyDAnn--We had the newer sheets on the Magic in September. I don't know if both ships changed at the same time or not. Nor do I know if all cabins were updated simultaneously or if these were phased in. I suppose if there is any doubt you'd be better off bringing your own to be on the safe side.:thumbsup2

We can do deck 8, but we are far aft, so if someone else has a better location. . . .

Lori

Also, May 19th is my birthday. Would you believe 29?! :rolleyes1 Hey, can't blame me for trying. I admit that it is a bit inconsistent with being married 16 years!
Thanks for keeping this list!

 Cupcake

My :rolleyes1 th birthday is right before the cruise, so I will be sorta celebrating on the cruise.

Peter (Hygeine99) has a birthday right before the cruise also, but sadly they won't be on the cruise.:sad2:

I've been working on the design for the message board and here is what I have tentatively come up with:

http://home.earthlink.net/~cpsnyder/MsgBoard.htm

It is 8/12" x 11". The logo is in the middle, but I faded it enough so it is just visible and doesn't interfere with anything written on it. It looks darker on the image than it did when it was printed. I had to leave a couple inches at the top to attach the pen holder. Opinions? Suggestions?

That is so neat.:thumbsup2
Wish I had that talent. I'm just a trial and error plugger.:lmao:

Good Calculation , Bob, I think we will have to get the info from a crew member to be most accurate. Maybe DCL will toss a party after they haev read the idea here :goodvibes :goodvibes things like that have happened before.

In the old days it was called the "point of no return" kinda like the John Wayne Movie the High and the Mighty. I love walking through an airport whistling the theme song, not many folks get it:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Kinda what I was thinking.:scared1:

Still stuck in Richmond and it looks like I wont make the connection to get from Dulles to Denver. I hope the benches in Denver are comfortable. LOL

It's all on page 143 at the top. I think I end up checking that page for some reason or other almost every day!

Thank you, :flower3: Hadley.

Does any one know if these things have changed?

First and only formal night is Monday, May 14 (sea day)
Pirate night is Friday, May 18 (sea day)
First semi-formal night is Saturday, May 19 (sea day)
Second semi-formal night is Thursday, May 24 (sea day)

Pirate Night: Just in -DCL just told us that Pirate night was set for May 18th. Take this with a grain of salt.

Message boards look great!!

If you still need someone for Deck 7, we can do it!! :)

We're 7568...

We can do deck 8, but we are far aft, so if someone else has a better location. . . .

Lori
Maybe we could have more than one per deck. I'm trying to decide how difficult that would be to update them though.
