I have several of these and love them (DD's not mine)

Thanks Kelly!!! Now I should go make a call and get ressies, I guess... :goodvibes

You are so welcome.

Calling all the LA people - We will have a flight from LAX on Thursday at 12pm. What time should we leave the DL hotel? We will have our boarding pass already but will need to check luggage. Thanks!

If you leave earlier than 8:30 you will hit traffic. 9:01 is best for traffic It will take 60-90 min. But around here you never know when there is an accident, so it is better to be early than late. One accident can slow you down by hours. Are you driving or using a service?

Oh yea..On our med cruise I was sharing clothes with a family from georgia. They got moms bag 3 days in , dads 4 days in and the 2 kids 2 days before the end. There was one woman who was doing a summer abroad with her kids and she had 10 bags from singapore with their entire summer wardrobe...gone..didn't get them back when we got off either. The disney cruise was the first of their european vacation...ugh!

We did this too. Turned out to be the VP of Finance for Disney's family on the first med cruise. They never got their luggage, so everyone was donating. One night I ran into her and she said they always have clothes available to go to Palo for the guests if they need them. Who knew???:confused3

Ok, I know I am behind the time, but I finally watched lost from the week before last...the next new episodes don't start up until April 24...that means only 2 episodes before we leave....aargh...I hope my tivo doesn't fill up!

They've been excellent, but we are worried because so many shows are coming back while we're gone.

I actually have some good news to post! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
Our DS, Mike, has decided to attend Duke Law School this fall. He didn't get into Stanford, and NYU didn't offer him any money, but Duke offered him a scholarship. I was rooting for Duke the whole time! His dad and I are so happy! He is onlly 10 hours away!    (sorry west coasters, but CA is just SO FAR AWAY!).:yay:

Congrats Michael.

Happy Birthday!:cool1:

Shawn said "Thank you"!

He won't say anything, but it seems that this birthday has been hard on him. He has been rather withdrawn since we got home from Salt Lake last night. I really think he just misses his family. The kids and I are all he has.

The luggage on their flight turned out to be from an earlier flight.

The flight crew made no mention of the luggage problem. So the passengers did not learn about until they got off the plane.

British Airways said they would get their luggage within 48 hours. The problem is they are leaving on a cruise from L.A. to Hawaii in 32 hours. Arrrggghhh!

So, what would you do if your luggage might not arrive before a cruise? Go shopping?
Woody

There is no way that I could replace all my hard work (shopping) in just a few days shopping time!

It's opening day here as well, sunny and warm. I am just about to leave the office for Dodger Stadium! Joseph
Joseph,

My office was downtown and I saw an awesome fly by. What was it?

. . . Today, the Canucks use the "Free Willy" logo as their main one with the word "Vancouver" above it.
Our British friends say when they saw the words "Free Willy" on the movie theatre marquees, they were appalled.

I so agree here. I have no problem asserting myself if it is the right thing to do. Would I move little kids out of the way so I can buy a special pin NO WAY. Would I make sure to move a grown man out of the way so little kids could........... you bet.
Yeah, you GO girl!

Well, no time to catch up again . . . I've had a bit of a day.

Just when I was catching up this morning my brother called - he was supposed to go back to work today after break (he is a teacher) - and his feet were so swollen he could not even get his shoes on. He has extreme fear of doctors and hospitals, and I had been trying to talk him into seeking medical care for over a week.

I got him to call off work, make a doctor's appointment, and then I had to take him to the appointment. I had to drop him and leave him because I could not leave the office for so long a time.

My brother is extremely obese, and he looked ashen. He had difficulty even walking to and getting in my car. I think I have mentioned that my father lives with him.

Later in the afternoon he called to tell me I had to take him to the ER, he was retaining fluid, but they were afraid to give him medication without tests. The whole way to the ER he was freaking out on me - I thought I was going to have to slap him to get him to calm down.

I got him to the ER, got him admitted, and had to go home to get Sophia and my son dinner (who had brought some friends to watch the game). Can you say Olive Garden carryout? I had to calm down my dad, get his medication ready for him, and keep answering his calls wondering what was happening. Can you say 85 year old man with time on his hands?

He just called a little bit ago. He was admitted. He is anemic, and they were giving him 3 units of blood. He thinks he will be released tomorrow (who knows?). Meantime, I have to get to my dad's in the morning again to get his medicine ready for him. Take him lunch, take him dinner.

Oh yeah, and I have this job that keeps getting in the way. Now, what would have happened if this happened on May 11th? I know many of you are in similar positions with family - we should all say prayers for each other.

Poor Amy is dealing with my frustration half the world away, even though she gets to sit by a pool and have her feet massaged. I barraged her with email during the day because there is no one else to talk tol

Anyway - miss you guys - wish I had more time to spend, but it is bed time for Sophia!

John, we will of course keep you and your family in our prayers. :grouphug:

. . . Every Friday and Saturday a bunch of folks gather with their dancing shoes and a live band . . . plays big band/swing music. There are people from 16-100 who dance, play cards, eat, watch the fireworks. . . We go as often as possible and hang out.
We danced there many years ago, and the other folks made us look like beginners -- which we were!

Lots of fun. I remember the Fantasia ice cream. YUM!

After reading what happened on the last PC cruise and the pin guy, nothing surprises me.
I agree.

Oh, it was on the first PC cruise. On the second PC cruise, we got pin order forms in our stateroom.

Woody

I can't see this one??
Thanks
Lisa

I ended up deleting the older one in favour of the newer one. As such, the old one is now no longer available.

My flickr account is quickly reaching it's maximum size. I've had to delete a few pics from it already. None from this cruise though - just some of my other ones.

. . . Me too!!! I love scrapbooking, my mom and I try to get together once a week but normally shop more than scrap. Is she doing the scrapbook class?
No, Mrs. Woody is not going to the class. But she will be scrapbooking onboard.

She's bringing a Canon Selphy compact photo printer, so she can print digital photos each day.

Ask our Australian friends about the Canadian clothing company "Roots". They got a real kick out of our Olympic team coming out with "Roots" emblazoned on their clothes (guess the US Olympic team is doing that too now - using "Roots" as a clothing supplier).

I would call the DL hotel to see what they say (and I live in L.A.!)
