It has started snowing here, but we're not supposed to get as much as the parts of the midwest to the east of us.

I just got back. I have been out of the house since 8:00 AM, running errands.

I am holing in for the rest of the day. After I prepare for my WW meetings tomorrow morning, I'll probably park my butt and play video games.

Tomorrow is my first weigh-in for the Spring Staff Challenge. I'm going to end up wearing gym shorts and a t-shirt under my clothing again, so I can strip off for the weigh-in.

Of course for the the first weigh in, you could go with full clothing and then at your final weigh in come in with the t-shirt & shorts. This will give you more incentive to loose weight and will kind of sandbag the competition!:rolleyes1

Ok, first invites for the map are out, lets see if this can actually work. It does not seem to be updated by google in live time, I will figure that out and post how long before add-ons show up, hmmm....

Opps! To add your pointer, click on edit first, in the left sidebar. Sorry, still learning, lol.

Should I have received an invite?

I think that at some time while on board, the "LBB" needs to meet in Diversions to swap military stories, hoist a few libations, and honor all of our vets!

Having served as a U.S. Army Officer on active duty for over 12 years, I concur with DrHug, it too was my duty and my honor to uphold the freedoms we now enjoy. I feel sad for the RAF personnel that cannot walk into town without being harassed. It is not right. I had many a friend stationed with the BAOR (British Army of the Rhine) while I was stationed in Germany and none of them were less patriotic to Queen and Country as we "Yanks" were to our Stars & Stripes and the freedoms they represent. I hope those who despise the military will soon remember the words of GEN Douglas McArthur who said "that no one prays for peace more than the professional soldier, for it is he who must suffer the consequences of war." and also that they remember it is because of the soldier standing guard that keeps the light of our freedoms burning bright and allows them to disagree.

I will now get down from my soap box and find a pint (or half liter) to raise to thank my fallen comrades.:drinking1

[Patriotic music fades into the background]
:thanks: (Could not find a smile waiving a flag)

I was an officer with the USAF too - made it to Major! I think this is why I went back as a contracted employee - I truly enjoy helping our troops. Trust me, Luke AFB is a fighter pilot training base, and, well, let's just say I see at least 6 patients a day. It is very rewarding.

Nah, can't do it  my starting weight was last week. I'm supposed to be showing some progress ... downward that is.

PJ,

In order to add to the map do I have to have a Google account? I can't see an EDIT button.

I don't know, anyone else without a google account not able to add to the map? looks like you have to sign up for a google account, but you can use a current e-mail no gmail required, looks fairly simple to sign-up.

Molly and Wilson are in the front yard, Wilson is riding his bike, Molly comes running in the house, MOM some girls just picked our Tulips!!!

I go outside and see 2 girls riding away on their bikes and yell after them, and then see their parents walking out from behind DH's car. SHE HAS MY TULIPS IN HER HANDS!!!! Some people, the nerve :sad2:

I told her that those are our flowers and to give them back. She said "he (her husband/their father) told them not to pick them"

Who in their right mind picks flowers from their neighbors house without asking???

Ok, I'm taking a movie break (we are watching Iwo Jima) to show you the tulips this year, back in a minute.

Just checking in. I am beat.

We have gotten about 18 or so inches of snow in about 24 hours.

I cleared snow last night.

I cleared snow this morning.

I just cleared snow again.

The snow pile in front of my driveway from plowing is about six feet high.

I had to go into the office to manage a crisis plan for the stores - I got stuck dropping Sophia off at Grandma's. We are closing our stores three hours early tonight.

I got stuck picking Sophia UP at Grandma's.

Both times I had to get a shovel out of the trunk and spend a half hour digging out. If you stop on a side street, you are SOL, because they have only plowed the main roads, and cannot keep up with them.

I know this isn't Canada, but we have not seen this kind of snow in awhile. My snow blower can't pile it much higher on the side of the driveway, it is about 3 feet high and growing!

The only thing growing faster are the pages on this thread!

Ok..

I could be off by a week...

BUT

Dancing with the Stars SHOULD end the week of May 19th... (I have to check and see how many stars are on this year... it could be later...)

BUT....

We're supposed to have Ballroom under the Stars on the Friday before we get into LA...

Any thoughts????

Yep answered my own question. Registered for an account and sure enough there was the Edit button. Entered our info in BC. Just find the middle of the Province and you'll find us. ;)

BTW it is absolutely GORGEOUS here today!! I should NOT be inside right now. Our snow has dropped drastically in the front yard the last couple of days. Almost time to break out the shorts!!

guess you don't want to hear about my tulips, huh John???:flower3:

Michelle, we have been hoping this might be true for months. It would be so cool to see some really beautiful dancing.

I would guess John, that you probably have more snow than I do now!! Ours has been melting at a good rate. Spring has sprung here.

All this talk of military and the like, plus the conversation earlier about graduation and the 70's made me think of this picture. It is of me and my Dad circa 1974/5. He was a Lieutenant with the Canadian Scottish Regiment. I was about 2 years old at the time. The original was a B&W but I was playing with colourization at the time so added the green to him and the blue to me. It is one of my favourite pics of me and my dad.

And to keep it Disney related:

Any Disneyland vets recognize the background in this pic of me, my sister and my father, circa 1978?

Very cool photo of you and your dad. Good job with the coloring.

To be honest nothing really surprises me these days as far as some people's behaviour goes.

How annoying and senseless, and what a shame.

Oh John. You are going to need a long hot bath. That sounds like a nightmare day.

I DO!!! I DO!!! :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

It's so dull and dreary here to day that I need tulips!!!

Was just thinking about mine, but they won't be up for at least another 4 - 6 weeks.... :sad2:
