H2O Products.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE these products. The shampoo is heavenly - just finished the last of the bottles I snagged on my last cruise. I have very thick hair, and it never felt better! Can't wait to get back on board and get some more.

thank you. I was hoping someone would say that. Now I don't need to bring any. That will help a little with the packing!

Hi,
I don't know how it will be for you, but I got my machine the same day I got fitted for my mask. I don't know what kind of mask you are getting, but I got the nasal pillow that just rests up against your nose, and your face is not covered. I adjusted to it much easier than I expected. If your machine has a humidifier(and it prob. will), you can fill out the medical form on DCL site, and fax it to them letting them know you will need distilled water for your humidifier. They will have a gallon of distilled water on board for you, and all you have to do is call them when you get to your room, and they will bring it to you. Much easier than carrying it on board. Good luck...Vicki

Thanks Vicki - we'll see how things go. The tech had told me that it could take about 1 month to get the machine :confused3

Thanks, That's a great point-I meant to include that but forgot. I read about the ext. cord on a board before our cruise in Nov. I don't think I could have used my c-pap without it-very few, and far-away outlets in the room. Vicki

Good point ladies----now who is going to remind me of this as we get closer? (I'll forget this in the next 10 min)

I PM'd somebody about this but I've sent so many PMs over the last few days that I've lost track! So I figured I'd post my questions here instead. Maybe I'm not the only confused newbie!

I read through the article on fish extenders and it really sounds like fun, but I'm still a little confused! Do we get put in a group and just put gifts in those people's extenders, or do the groups take turns putting gifts in everyone's, or what? How do people know how many gifts to bring along? Do you just look for doors with extenders, or are you given a list?

And how do you actually sign up?

And what's the difference between Fish Mail and the Secret Mickeys?

Could you give me a really basic explanation (for someone who's never heard of it before? (I don't need the instructions on how to make one, just how to use them!)

I'm really feeling "simple" here, but I figure asking is the best way to find out!

Thanks so much!:surfweb:

Well here goes.

You can be put in a group or opt to do it on your own. Contact calmom if you are interested in joining a group or taking a day on your own. If you decide to do a day on your own, you can pretty much do it how you want.

With about 118 Disser's participating you could end up spending a great deal of time trying to deliver to that many cabins. That is my reason for joining a group. We will share the cost of the gift and the delivery as well.

Who to gift? I guess that is up to you as well. Some may only gift those that or on our list, others may gift to every fish extender they see.

The Secret Mickey's are totally seperate. If you are interested in doing that contact sourmug and she will give you the name of someone else that you will gift over the course of the cruise.

Hope this helps

"Also, I've been bringing along a little nightlight that I plug in at night for those late at night trips to the bathroom. We usually stay in an inside cabin and behind those curtains it gets pitch black especially since DH has a nasty habit of putting a towel under the doorstop so ABSOLUTELY no light gets in. I had enough after DH stubbed his toe in the middle of the night and blamed me for it. OH those battery operated tap lights work too but sometimes they are glaringly bright after being pitch black. "

Laura - I already bought myself a night lite!

I keep an extension cord the the travel bag for my machine so I always have one. I have had to use it at hotels too.

I guess I'll keep asking the question ... Anyone from the Chicago area on this cruise?

Valparaiso, IN for 10 1/2 years and now Indianapolis for 3. Close enough?

I don't know! We forgot DrHug's in Dec and guest services ran out (they have a few to loan)! We had to set a suitcase by the side of the bed, put the cpap on it and stretch both the electric cord and the hose as far as we could to make it reach. We made it work, but way easier with an extension cord.

Monica is you should forget it, don't worry . The stateroom host will lend you one.

Question for those who have had a Hot Stone Massage.
Are there alot of oils and things used? I have sensitive skin and can't use alot of smelly good things.

Hi Jill - I had one the last time I was on board. I told the CM that I can't handle smells (cause migraines) and she was able to adapt to me. Didn't feel oily.

Thanks, that's very helpful! I could see where it could be very time consuming and expensive to do a day on your own! What kinds if gifts have people done in the past (just so I have something to get the creative juices flowing!)

Yes, I went this morning. I love that doctor. He said to keep wrapping it with the burn cream until it clears up again, but then we're going to have to work on the edema and why we have it because it's causing the cellulitis to keep coming back. He told me to think about getting a boot to wear 2 hours a day that will help with my circulation and hopefully the edema. I told him I would call him back about getting it soon.

My mother had a series of special lymphedema massages and a boot she wore at night when at sleep. Not a good thing to walk around the house in as it was slick on the bottom, but kept the pressure evenly applied when she was elevated and asleep. In the daytime she wore support stockings. Sometimes JOBST brand, specifically measured for her leg and sometimes the kind off the rack.

Truthfully I'm just worried about Palo brunch and the kids club. We have a few excursions that seem fun but no final plans yet. We are going to the butterfly farm in Aruba but we are going on our own. Any suggestions? What are you guys doing for sure?

The only time you need to worry about the kids club is if you have one that needs to go to Flounders. The other ages you just register. We are doing a lot of the beach getaways. We also have a 5 year old and she could not do a lot of the excursions.

Yup, we have talked about all of the above with the doctor. I just called the office this morning to say that I wanted the boot that we talked about. It's getting ordered today. I'll wear it for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening and that's it. But I have to do it every day. Hopefully it will do what I need and keep the edema down so that I don't keep getting the cellulitis.

I'm doing this with the wound center specialist doctor. I have an appointment with my rhumatologist in April so we'll see how it works by then and see what he says too.

Ok- for those wanting to do the Scavanger Hunt:

I am thinking either the 15th or 20th around 10am.

I will be in one area and you can report back when you are done (more than likely deck 4). There will be a time limit but haven't decicded what yet. It should make for some cute pics.

If you want to be included PM me if you haven't already.

It already sounds like a lot of fun! I can't wait to play.

Jackie, (Ibouncetoo) I love your picture (avatar) every time I see your post you look like such a friendly person that it makes me smile.
:tigger:

As our friend, Goofy, would say "Garsh!" :flower3:

Joining a gift group is probably the way to go, that way you can chip in and help distribute something for lots of DISers. The group decides what gift they want to do and lets calmom know, as she is keeping tract to make sure there our no duplicates. I think the folks who are doing the laynards may still be looking for people to join in with them on the expense. Those will actually be distributed in advance (at DISmeets before 5/10 and then at the terminal and on board meets).

The Secret Mickey is a gift exchange between people who have just signed up for it (kind of like a holiday gift exchange you may do at work)

....coffee break over....later kids!
