Like the sticker idea!

I read murder mysteries and horror with the occasional medical/legal thriller thrown. (Someone dies in every book I read - my best friends 13 year old son finds my Amazon wish list scary.)

I tend to read a lot of James Patterson and Robin Cook on vacations as they are both pretty easy reads so that's probably what I'l be bringing.

Have you read Stephen White? He is from Boulder/Denver, CO (where I onced lived) so I can totally relate to the setting of his books. His lead character is a psychologist and he is always involved with the police to solve the crime.

Well Doug . . .

The Lost Beer Boys are a little less formal than the Champagne girls . . .
  • You can join anytime
  • We don't keep a list because someone would lose it and no one wants to maintain it.
  • We don't wear tiaras (although lampshades may be allowed)
  • You'll never be waitlisted, and the group is never closed
  • We all must pretend we are still boys - especially around the opposite sex (which does not include wives)

All I have to do now is work on a secret handshake (which will also be quickly forgotten) and a password (which will be even more quickly forgotten). We may decide to hold an initiation ceremony, wherein we will all hoist our favorite brews as the Magic's whistle blows.

The only way to be ex-communicated is if you put something sweet or fruity in your beer. (Lemon wedges or lime wedges are permitted in Mexican beer)

So, don't sweat it Doug, you're in . . .

That reminds me. Is there usually a murder mystery on the longer cruises?

The fireworks get me going too! I don't know why, I've seen them a million times! Last time I cried as we came into Long Beach knowing that they were kicking us off the ship after being on for two weeks. If I didn't have to come back to work, I would have "squatted" and refused to get off. Hm...wonder if it works on a ship like it does in a hotel.....

I was shocked at the number of people I saw crying when we got off our first cruise. I really did not expect to see so many. I knew I would be all teary but didnt think others would be.

Last year on the Med. thread, someone mentioned about a portable storage device. I didn't want to take my laptop across the world, so I checked into it and bought it for $99. IT IS AWESOME. It is an I/O Magic Storage transfer device. It must weigh 2 pounds (if that). And it is about 7 inches by 4 inches by 2 inches high. Anyway, I didn't take my laptop and every day I just downloaded my cards right in our stateroom. We took over 4,000 pictures. Then when we got home, I just hooked it up to my computer and downloaded them all. It was great.

Here's the website if anyone wants to check it out:

I have to bring my laptop so I can stay connected to everyone back home. Funny thing is while home I am chatting with you all wishing I was on the ship. Once on the ship I will check in with friends back home telling them all about the ship.

I'd love to see some of Linda's layouts from the 2005 cruise. Maybe you wouldn't mind sharing some of your best at the scrapbooking class? I wouldn't expect you to copy all the pages, but maybe some of your favorites? That would be kewl. Of course, you're probably sharing all your best ideas with us already at the class. :goodvibes

when is the scrapbooking class?

I hope you decided to stay home and get better. With you not feeling well you are not helping anyone. Get better FIRST!!!

I decided to go.....I'm leaving here in 5 minutes.....I've just been catching up again after running my errands. Gotta do it. I cancelled last week. Gotta take care of Ray too.

How in the world can you guys fill 85 pages in 3 days!:scared1:

If anything important came down, will someone please PM me so I'm still in the loop? Thanks!

My house guest just left. In an hour I'm going out to meet some friends, get my nails done and do a few errands. Tomorrow I'm taking a friend in for some outpatient surgery. Sat. I'm going down to Phoenix to a seminar with Allison DuBois (inspiration for the show "Medium") and I'll be staying down there for a few days with my sister. Sat. night I'm doing my share to help with reservations for my DDDD+? (can't remember the last letter, is it another D?) group. Jackie, I'm doing brunch, right?

So I'll try to check in from time to time, but there's no way I'm going to be able to keep up! Just wanted to tell you that I got my res changed to DU and I'm now

PIF!!
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

It's a reality now!

Bye for now!!:goodvibes

I called the doctor's office at the wound care and got an appointment for Monday morning.....so I'll be going back there again and we'll see what the doctor says about the cellulitis returning and is this going to continue again and again and why and how do we keep it from happening. I have so many questions and I'm completely bummed about the whole thing returning. Good thing we caught it early.

Can any one give me a list of which night are what (formal, semi and pirate). I know i saw it somewhere just can't seem to find it.

Thanks
Melinda

This is what I have

Mon. May 12 - formal
Wed. May 14 - tropical
Sat. May 17 - semi formal
Mon. May 19 - mexican
Thu. May 22 - pirate

Cookies and milk are a GREAT thing to order from room service. :thumbsup2

Don't those cookies taste great! Everything tastes better just because it is on the ship. We order sandwiches and cookies and chips at night to be able to take them off the ship during the day. Great yummy food and FREE.

I love Alison DuBois and the show Medium. I can't believe you're seeing her in person. I would give anything to come with you. You have to have to have to tell us all about it afterwards. I'm so psyched for you!

Hi Everyone!!

I am behind in reading (about a week), so I am going to jump in....I am really having problems with one of my son's schools....

Is anyone with High Schoolers having problems with getting off of school, I really would like to know what's going on in other schools across the country!!

They have a big problem here with parents not sending thier kids to school, so they have wonderful rules, but then for me, who's kid goes all the time.....we get hit by the same policy. Unexcused absence means the work for the day is a big fat zero! He is on the honor roll, good kid.

HELP!!
