Has anyone actually done the math on this new deal and found a discrepancy?
We have the Polynesian, Garden View booked from March 4-11 (Wed-Wed) for 3 adults, with 7 day park hoppers (no other add ons) and the total comes to $3242.44 on Disney.com. I have the reservation made already and put the deposit down.
HOWEVER, if I break down the package components seperately on Disney.com, here is what I get:
Tickets:
4 DAY Park Hopper for 3 adults: $807 total
4 Nights at Polynesian, Garden View (I put in weekend dates, since we will be going during Peak Season, and weekend rates apply, so I wanted to make sure I accounted for that increase in rate): $2340 total
TOTAL Price when you add the 4 nights at Poly to the 4 day park hopper, remembering that the additional 3 nights and 3 days of the ticket are "supposedly" free: $3,147.00
Original Package Price quoted: $3242.22
Same components broken down: $3147.00
Difference: $95.22 OVERCHARGE on package.
What gives?Should I call?
It appears that it may be charging you the weekend rate for all 4 nights.
RESORT
$505 + $25 extra adult fee = $530
$530 X 4 X 1.125 (resort tax) = $2385
PASSES
7 day Park Hopper w/ discount & taxes = $286 X 3 = $858
$2385 + $858 = $3243...which is mere cents off your quoted price of $3242.22
**edited to add**
Trip insurance adds $200.85 to the package that is already included in the quoted price!
I also get a $90 discrepancy:
When I run WL packages for 3 adults and 1 child age 4, I get a difference of @$90 more than if I run tickets for 4 days and room rate x 4 for the 3 adults (25 plus tax for extra adult considered in).
Can anyone help me?
Are you sure you don't have insurance included? It's hard to run this for you without dates, but I'll guess based on the daily rate you gave...

I am confused.
Example:
WL Woods figured separately
310 + 25= 335 x4= 1340
tax at 12.5%= 167
total room 1507
Tickets
3 adults (for 4 days) 233.24 x 3 = @700
1 child = 196
total tickets 896
Room and tickets should be 2403 for Woods view
WDW website says it is 2492
Difference is $89
I just can't figure this........
Can anyone help me?
I have definitely figured out they take the average rate of all your nights and give you three nights free of the average. I’m not sure how the tax figures in. So, if you have weekends or nights in a different season (or both) it can dramatically affect what you package price is. When I do it this way, no matter what resort or dates, I come pretty close to the quoted package rate. And I’m assuming that is the tax differences. Yes, I play with it a lot.
Not sure why you guys are trying to "calculate" this. As someone stated earlier, just go to disney website and plug your EXACT info: dates, number of guests, resort, resort view and tickets. Get a total. Then go back to the home page click the 4 for 3 link and do the EXACT same thing. You have to check the radio buttons to make sure you have the exact same view and ticket options. Then compare. Bam! That IS your true savings no ifs ands or buts. I just did it for my President's week trip at POFQ $2507.99 to $1777.66 a savings of $730.33 before the $200 gift card. You know, I've tried doing it this way too, and it doesn't add up either. If I do it this way, the discrepancy is even bigger, to the tune of close to $65, instead of $42. I just really don't want to call CRO and be on hold (and pay long distance to boot!).

Got it. OK, yep I was not following your post. So I crunched your numbers with my method above and I priced each item separately. Without the 4/3 your package would be $4,952.91 and priced separately the package would be $4,949.21 package over charge of $3.70 and with the 4/3 the numbers are $3,242.22 and $3,180.04 thus a package overcharge of $62.18. Keep in mind this is making the assumption that the 4/3 deals uses the following calculation: add the the 7 day total, divide by 7 to get a daily average then mulitiplies by 4 to get the 4 days. Who knows if that calculation is correct. As the poster above mentioned, the reason I began this post in the first place is because this "7 nights for the price of 4" deal is NOT working out to be that, at least in my case. I am not sure why, and I am trying to figure out how Disney is calculating my particular package, because they are charging MORE than they should be for 4 nights hotel plus 4 nights tickets. The overcharge is approximately $42, which may seem like not that much, but there shouldn't be an overcharge at ALL, and I just want to get to the bottom of it. No one can give me an answer.![]()
I mean, I am still going on the trip, and for now at least, I am keeping the package as is, because there are three of us going, and divided by three, $42 is like $14 per person extra for the week, but the truth is, Disney is advertising one thing and then charging for something else. When I go in and pretend like I want to take a 4 night trip, and price a package for the same week, in the same resort, with the same number of guests, the package come up LESS than what I am paying for the "4 + 3 free" deal. There is something wrong.
I had a similiar issue with my package. If I booked straight without the " promo it priced out at $1984 for 4 nights, dinning and Tix, but the package price was $2300? HuH? I kept being told the pricing was correct. Hello- where is the savings? I kept calling and kept being passed around, disconnected, etc. but kept calling back. Today, I did get several call backs from Guest Services. They told me there is something off with the pricing and that it will be taken care of, but that it would take some time to work with the process- whatever that means. Anyhow, I was told that Guest Services would contact me by Wed. of this week to resolve. I would recommend anyone else having this problem, call and continue to ask to speak to someone that can assist you. There is something wrong with their pricing model!!!
