Wow, I left for an hour and the victims are already forgotten.
Now it's an American politician's fault.
Unbelievable.

Because without the guns the THE PERSON WHO MURDERED THOSE PEOPLE would not have been able to MURDER quite as many of THOSE PEOPLE as he did.

I'm sorry but this is ridiculous. Nobody blamed anybody but the shooter and the victims have certainly not been forgotten.
I know you were worried about your friends. I've been praying for them, their families and you. If these are the friends you were worried about, I am so sorry for your loss.
If a classroom full of 6 and 7 year olds getting gunned down didn't change anything, I don't know what will. Sad.
There is communication -- about real threats, and only with a tightly-restricted subset of law enforcement. And that's the way it should be. There is very good cooperation -- which is why you see people being arrested every week for ISIS ties, and also why we haven't had as many catastrophes as we might have had. Just today, in fact, it looks like they may have foiled something in LA.And that's where communication needs to be improved.
It's possible somebody in the FBI evaluated the guy wrong, but that's a different issue (and something that will surely be looked at). More likely is they just didn't have enough info on the guy to really make him look deadly...and he might not have been deadly 3 years ago.And I know for a fact he would have found another way even if he was denied a LTC, just feels like another case of someone dropping the ball.
I lost all hope when nothing was done after that. My Congresswoman refused to even acknowledge or respond to a very simple, polite email I sent on assault weapons after that shooting. I truly have no hope.If a classroom full of 6 and 7 year olds getting gunned down didn't change anything, I don't know what will. Sad.
Judge not lest ye be judged.
Except...other sources of negativity are quickly demonized, if they are affiliated with a shooting. If the guy was Catholic...would they get a pass? There are many from various religions who hate the gay community. There's been a huge amount of negativity towards the lgbt community coming from many different sources. It seems disingenuous to focus of sharia law and Muslims while ignoring other people using their religion in attempts to enact laws which restrict the rights of people.

I am devastated. This is a club I have been to several times. I have many, many friends and coworkers who frequent Pulse. I sent out so many "Are you okay?" text messages and phone calls this morning, something I never imagined I'd have to do. I'm fortunate that nobody I know was injured, but friends of friends are currently in the hospital and my Facebook feed has been filled with "Does anyone know if ____ is okay?"
You can have your political arguments, but please remember that right now people are mourning this tragedy. My city is hurting, but there has also been an overwhelming outpouring of support from the people of Orlando who have overwhelmed the blood banks by standing for hours in the crazy heat to donate. I am sending out my love to anyone affected by this.
That's awesome news! {{hugs}}Thank you so much. I edited my original post earlier, as I was just so frantic when I posted it, that I realized that it sounded like I knew 100% that my friends were at Pulse. I was able to confirm that none of my friends were there.
I wonder if he's any relation to the Supreme Court Judge???

The NRA is one of the strongest lobbies in Washington. Sad.I lost all hope when nothing was done after that. My Congresswoman refused to even acknowledge or respond to a very simple, polite email I sent on assault weapons after that shooting. I truly have no hope.
