I hadn't read the boards yet today. I decided to have a life today. I still don't get the excitement around Ohana. We just thought it wasn't very good. But more ADRs for everyone else..

To each, their own.. I guess--- thats what makes the world go around--- would be a pretty boring place if everyone liked the same things- Fir us, 'Ohana" is tradition. So many great memories there.

Thank you for pointing this out! I’m relieved that my kids won’t be required to wear a mask.
I agree. I was at SeaWorld and UO last week, and I would say that about 5% of people were wearing masks, including kids under 12. (Didn't go to WDW due to the mask requirements). I don't see that Disney will be enforcing that any differently than the other parks are currently doing.

We were at WDW May 30th-June 6th. In most areas where masks were still required Disney was being very strict. We saw people get reprimanded over the intercom in ride queues several times. At times the CMS were audibly frustrated to say it again for the 6th(or 60th) time. Outside, were masks were not required, I'd say 5-10% of people had them on.

As someone that often catches a cold while traveling, it's not from library books. It's from the people that can't be bothered to cover their mouth when they cough or sneeze near other people. I can often pinpoint the person that's done it, like the lady I was walking into the bathroom behind. Thanks!

I basically only read library books, I rarely buy any, I've never gotten sick from a book.
My very first experience eating out again after getting vaccinated included an older gentleman at the table across from me BLOWING HIS NOSE in the dining room. Uncouth anytime, but especially during a global pandemic!

Awesome! We'll be there Monday through Saturday. We're all fully vaccinated, so this is great news! I honestly wouldn't have minded it staying so that we could have them off outside, but it'll be nice to have them off when popping into shops and on rides too.

My SIL finally got vaccinated today for our upcoming trip at the end of June so she could be fully vaccinated, so I’m personally very glad Disney made this change! Hopefully it will encourage more people to do the same.

Not a bad idea...well maybe not leaving them in the sun, that's actually harmful to the books. My system actually quarantined our returns for 4 days and used gloves and masks while handling items. So pretty safe. We have now have pulled back from that because of the science showing low transfer, but I always tell anyone who asks that it never hurts to wipe down the outside of the books and let them sit a couple of days. Can't hurt. LOL also I do about 60% of my books digitally.... and now so do a lot of our 'I only read print copies' readers.
Good point about sun damage. I’m actually not worried anymore. I use my Kindle a lot but I love my quarterly (stacks of books) library visits.

Oh my! If I sneeze and have stuff running out of my nose I do usually pull out my hanky and fix that. What is the alternative, walk through the restaurant dripping? I've been called worse than uncouth.

I don't understand. Are you being sarcastic? Blowing your nose anywhere, including in a dining area, is perfectly acceptable social etiquette. What would be unacceptable or uncouth would be constantly sniffling or having snot run down your face onto yourself/table/food.

As someone with allergies that doesn't bother me as long as it's quiet. I realize some think it's gross but I'm not going to

My nose is temp sensitive so going between thr heat and the a.c. and stuff makes it awful. I agree with you, also not running to the restroom multiple times a day to blow my nose. I can be quiet and turn away from people. I'd also rather hear someone blow their nose then be stuck hearing them sniffle it up the whole time. Also the kleenex or hanky keeps the stuff blcoked vs the person coughing or sneezing uncovered for it to spray everywhere.

I just got a little twinge of excitement that people are disagreeing with something other than you-know-what.

So my husband agrees with you that it is totally fine and blows his nose in restaurants but I am mortified when he does it. i think I have PTSD from my dad sounding like a goose being assaulted in every public place we went.

Absolutely. I'd much rather hear someone blow their nose, even the big honking loud ones, for 5 seconds than 20-30 minutes of constant sniffling.

I always get up and go to the restroom if I have to blow my nose. If I have a runny nose or allergies I prolly feel like crap from congestion and really shouldn't be out at a restaurant. If it's a "I got a booger " I take a bathroom break

Yep obviously from my username I love my books. I do actually have a Master's in Library Studies and was a frontline librarian for 12 years before going into management and strategic planning. (I'm now a Programming and Outreach Manager who gets to do both direct service and strategic initiatives). But before all of that I was just an annoying kid hanging out in the public library for hours and bugging the crap out of the poor employees. Can't imagine giving up my books in any form.

I still wear a mask at work because it's required and safer for everyone but I am really happy to have our customers back in person and being able to get them books.

You totally sounded like a real librarian. I started my Master’s in Library Information Science but turned into another field after a semester. I still learned and contributed in that short time. I taught a class to my LIS classmates on how to use EBay when the company launched and was a division lead for a state conference. We were all into making websites and figuring out Google back then. I was the Lipstick Librarian cause I wanted to rebrand the image but then found out there already was one.
I was so happy to go into the ghost library when it first opened after the pandemic (45 minute slots). It was like a dream come true. Me virtually alone with all of those books to myself.

As long as the person doesn’t use the restaurant cloth napkin & then leave it for the busser to dispose of!

Totally off topic, but I wanted to say that I have my MLS, too. There aren’t many of us, so I just had to say something. I’ve been a middle school librarian for nine years. I think it’s the best job in the world!

I was a public school teacher before I was a librarian. Media Specialist was where I almost went before I decided to go the public services route. Loved my school library when I was a kid.
