Marriage: The Trip Report - Update 2/28 - Final Thoughts & Link to Disneyland TR!

What a great way to spend the afternoon. And now I really, really want one of those 7 layer bars. And - I will try to file that in my memory banks for when I visit in June.

Henry's comment is priceless! :thumbsup2

This picture is priceless. You should blow it up and frame it.!

I think Henry got a bad Mickey Bar....they're not supposed to taste like sausage! :lmao:

Great update and pictures, Brook. Sorry I can't make a lot of comments, but I'm trying to get through as many TR's as I can before I hit the airport.

I'll check in on FB from time to time.

What a beautiful day at Disney....relaxing:goodvibes It does feel nice to sit back and relax once in a while. Many a trip ago I would never relax, but over the past few trips I have tried to do that more and more. Love your beach pictures and the memories you made there!
I also love the looks of that delicious layered cookie bar! I have some of those Mickey head sprinkles and they will be added to my next batch of magic cookie bars...so much more happy looking with those little Mickey heads on it:cloud9:

I have seriously been off the DIS for what seems like forever!!! I was so glad to see I wasn't 832 updates behind on your report, although I haven't been over to your new TR yet! :lmao: Just trying to catch up before this baby makes her appearance! :goodvibes

Love all your WL pictures, that is seriously one of the most relaxing places in the world. David had a great time playing on their beach last September too. I think we will have to stay there someday. Love Henry's comment about the Mickey bar! :rotfl: Wonder what prompted that?! And those magic cookie bars are so delicious looking!

Henry's first day of school pics were great- glad he had such a good time! Isn't it true about the long days but short years? Amazing how that happens. Is he going half days?

Heading over to your solo TR now!

Love all of your WL photos. Henry really does look so happy just digging in the sand! Maybe you should use some DVC points and go to Hilton Head before he gets too old and doesn't wanna play in the sand anymore. The WL is such a pretty hotel. I love it there, it looked like a great place to spend your "down day."

If you have not yet, PLEASE VOTE FOR CAREN! Our fellow DISer, MeMom, has entered a contest called "My Classroom Went Disney" and she very, very, very much deserves to win. She works in a school where many kids are at or below the poverty line. She not only deserves, but NEEDS this win!

Mickey bars are my favorite DW treat but I never had one that tasted like sausage?:confused3

The 4 layer magic bar sound fabulous. If I ever make it back there I'll have to give it a try.

I voted a bunch of times from my various computers/devices. :thumbsup2

Ahhhhh Wilderness Lodge.

Digging, snacking, and a Mickey Bar.

Yep. It was a pretty nice afternoon!!

I absolutely love times like this. ::yes::

Me too...so long as I'm not in my "let's go, let's go, let's go" moods - and this particular afternoon, I was not! :thumbsup2

YUM! I love magic cookie bars! I'm looking forward to one this week:cloud9:

They are sooooooo good aren't they? I hope you enjoyed yours!!!

"Mickey Mouse tastes like sausage"? :lmao::lmao::lmao: Priceless! I love lazy beach days. And a lazy beach day with one of those bar things would be ever better.:thumbsup2

I know! Completely random comment. I so wish I could remember what he was referring to, or what prompted the comment!

From the mouths of babes! :rotfl2:

:lmao: Hopefully no one every tries to take a bite of him!

The sand looks so fun! I love the footprints picture!

Sausage you say Henry? :scared1: Ha...too funny! :rotfl:

It was a pretty perfect afternoon just hanging on the beach. I could go for a beach day right now!

Mickey Mouse tastes like sausage? I really did lol.

:rotfl:

What a magically chill afternoon. Good weather, beautiful surroundings, yummy snacks...what more could you ask for? :goodvibes

Exactly! It was a really wonderful way to spend the day! We had a lot of these "lazy afternoons" this trip - and for the most part, I enjoyed them!

:lmao: over Henry's sausage comment!!!

Those Magic Cookie bars look sensational!!!

They are! Very, very yummy. I think the only place that has them is the WL too!

I love making Magic Cookie Bars - they're literally one of the easiest things to do, all you do is spread the ingredients in a pan and bake them. But now I think I need to start adding sprinkles to mine, that looks even better!!

Relaxing on the beach looks so nice, it looks like you had a wonderful day! :goodvibes

Joe's Mom makes them quite a bit too - I'm not much of a baker/cook, the mood has to strike me! But, perhaps next time I'll give these a try - they really are delicious!

If there were not nuts in that bar i'd be all for it.

I know what you mean about taking notes. I did not take any on my last. So that'll make for an interesting TR

Some trips I'm really good at note taking...others, not so much. Thankfully this Feb/March one I was REALLY good. I even put times in! I think the last day was a bit less, but all well. Hopefully we will get to the last day before this coming February. :rolleyes1

Sounds like it was the perfect day! :cloud9: Well, other than the defective Mickey bar that tasted like sausage! :scared1::rotfl2::rotfl:

:lmao: I have no idea where he came up with that comment! I wish I could remember the moment, I'm sure Joe and I nearly choked on our bars!

I love Henry he's so funny! Mickey Mouse tastes like sausage :lmao:

Luv the pics from Wilderness lodge

Sometimes little kids come up with the craziest things!!!

Sausage, huh? That's a new one!:lmao: I love the day of chill. You rarely get those days at Disney unless you force yourself. Or your spouse.:rolleyes1

:rotfl2: SO TRUE! In this case it was the spouse urging them, but I complied most of the trip. March 6 was the day I realized a few things - and everything changes...

Sausage huh?

:lmao:

I think it's wonderful that you were able to just relax while Henry played in the sand. I admit, without a book that might be very hard for me to just sit there for too long if I knew I couldn't actually go in that water!

Gorgeous pics.

That bar looks crazy sweet though! I'll have what Henry's having.

Generally I need a book or something too-but this day just staring at the water was enough. We did have some entertainment with boats passing by and such. And I'm pretty certain I got up a few times, just to walk, or whatever. The "do nothing" mood was there that day, Joe took advantage!

The bar was VERY sweet, I couldn't finish it, half was more than enough for me.

Oh Henry!! You are such a goofball!!!

Love the wilderness lodge. I feel bad for Creighton because I am not a pool person at all. And he loves "swinnin". I'll have to send him with you so he can get all the "swin" time he wants. :rotfl:

 I like the pool, but I like to actually swim - swim laps, or race, or something. Joe is content just standing there and playing with Henry. Usually we both hop in and we all play for a bit, then I go off and swim, then I come back for a few minutes to play with H while Joe goes off, then I get out and I'm done. I think once Henry can swim for himself I'll spend a lot more time in there though!

Yummm, Magic Cookie bars. So, so good! You gave me an idea of something to throw together for our always hungry, four kiddos. I like them with the Mickey sprinkles!

Wilderness Lodge is dreamy. Ah...

:thumbsup2 How did they enjoy the bars?

Hmmm... we're staying at Wilderness Lodge for a few nights in December... just might have to make a point of getting one of those fabulous looking bars! ;)

Have you stayed at the WL before? It's SO wonderful! And during the holidays...perfect!!!!!

Sounds like a lovely day! :cloud9:

Putting 'Magic Cookie Bar' on my list of things to try while at the WL in JUST 3 WEEKS!!!! :yay: Don't think I want a Mickey bar that tastes like sausage though

:banana: Your trip is coming fast!!!! And yes, avoid the sausage flavored Mickey bars! LOL!

What a great way to spend the afternoon. And now I really, really want one of those 7 layer bars. And - I will try to file that in my memory banks for when I visit in June.

Henry's comment is priceless! :thumbsup2

Eating one of those bars poolside is a pretty great way to spend the afternoon. Another good spot to enjoy one, with coffee, would be on the lookout deck they have off the building - watching the lake, munching and sipping....:cloud9:

Thanks Jen! :goodvibes

Good thing Henry likes sausage, right?! :rotfl:

No worries! I just read your FB status, enjoying your last day on Marco. I hope your trip has been wonderful, I look forward to reading about it!

Joe has really 'forced' me into relaxing days - and I'm thankful for it. I think on this last trip, August, we found a good balance of busy and relaxing. It was just right for me, and Joe said it was good. (though, I am pretty sure he prefers NO rope drop and more "nothing" days! But I can only take so many!)

I have seriously been off the DIS for what seems like forever!!! I was so glad to see I wasn't 832 updates behind on your report, although I haven't been over to your new TR yet! :lmao: Just trying to catch up before this baby makes her appearance! :goodvibes

I've been SO slow moving on these TRs, it's absurd. I mean to update more often, but life keeps interrupting! I think I only have 2 or 3 updates done on the other one too. :headache:

Henry is going half days at school, 8:30 - 11:00 AM, everyday. He LOVES it. Yesterday he told me, "school days are the best!" I'm thrilled that he enjoys it so much--and I'm shocked at what I can get done in those 2 hours! :thumbsup2

I have been looking a bit into both HH and VB actually! I was wondering if we could swing either in February. Money is tight, and we need to get a new apartment, but H has a week off in Feb...if the airfare is cheap enough we just might be able to swing it! I know NOTHING about HH yet, if it has lots of sand, Henry will love it!

Mickey bars are my favorite DW treat but I never had one that tasted like sausage?:confused3

 Thankfully I never have either!!!

Thank you!! MeMom ended up getting 2nd place, but they are sending her some books too! :yay:

Love the pics of WL - what a nice relaxing day! :thumbsup2

It's such a stunning resort! I would love to transport myself back there for the afternoon today!

Hello you!!! Nice to see you around here! It has been good to chat with you a bit on Facebook too!

JORDAN!!!!!! You're back!!!!! :cool1:

:dance3:

Jordan's back! ;)

:yay: It's so good to see him, isn't it?!

Picking back up - we had just spent a relaxing afternoon at the Wilderness Lodge, swimming, digging, exploring and of course, having a delicious snack.

We decided to take a bus to Epcot, then we would either walk, or take the boat back to the Boardwalk and just see how the evening went from there.

The Flower & Garden Festival had now officially opened! I was VERY excited to see whatever we could see, I kept telling Joe I wanted to see it ALL eventually.

Lotso wasn't out yet though.

LOVE the Mickey gnome!

I cannot pass the hopscotch without doing it!

1211982284_FyM6c-L.jpg

When we reached the International Gateway, the boat was there - score! I just LOVE this boat ride!

1211983836_CLRMb-L.jpg

We strolled on back up to our room, but on the way we decided that tonight we'd be dining at Beaches & Cream, then return to Epcot for some rides and Illuminations.

I know back in the room we just let Henry nap for a bit, but eventually we were on our way over to the Beach Club! We opted to go left out of the Boardwalk - just for kicks. It's a longer walk, but it's pretty! Joe has the camera, so these shots are extra beautiful!

I love this picture! It pretty much encapsulates why I want to get married at SeaBreeze Pointe someday!

And very soon, we had arrived at our restaurant of choice! Now let's go inside and stuff our selves full of onion rings and ice cream!

Ooh yes, let's! I'll be there on Friday myself, super excited!

Were you laying on the ground for the one? It is such a cool angle.
It's really neat to see the Beach and Ycaht club from that view. I wish I would've walked over there and took some pictures like that.

Poor Henry was too tired from digging and playing to see the cute topiaries. I wish they would extend the Flower & Garden Festival on through the end of May like it used to be. I miss seeing all the beautiful flower displays.
