Marriage: The Trip Report - Update 2/28 - Final Thoughts & Link to Disneyland TR!

Yes. I only take the monorail out once a year and put it under the Christmas tree. I'm hoping to get the CR one day.

A monorail going around the Xmas tree sounds like a great idea!

Love all the resort specific merchandise. They DO have more than SSR and OKW. Although I was glad to see last month that SSR and OKW did have some new merchandise with logos. SSR got a new logo which explains why last time, all that stuff was on clearance... luckily I snapped a lot up. They had some T shirts at SSR and at OKW with a new logo with Mickey and Minnie on it. They had magnets and I did find an old logo double shot glass at SSR and snapped that up for $1.99.... don't care that I don't need it. I have debated staying at WL. I really think its beautiful, but the bedspreads!! :scared1:

I love the pictures of Henry. Awe, such a sweet "baby".

I know the CR would be huge under the tree but it's so my home ;)

Another good souvie would be a Christmas ornament. I have a very pretty one from the Boardwalk, and many other places. It's fun to recall the vacas when hanging them on the tree!

Wow, I can't believe Henry is starting school already! He looks great with his backpack. I'm glad he's enjoying school so far.

I thought your breakfast outside at the Boardwalk Bakery sounded like a great idea. I guess you never know how anything will turn out with a little guy along. :rotfl:

Visiting the Wilderness Lodge looks like a fun way to spend a no plans day. I've never been there, but it looks beautiful!

I absolutely LOVE the Wilderness Lodge. I've stayed at a bunch of Disney resorts and it really is my favorite for so many reasons. Love to see you guys took some time to enjoy it on this trip! I haven't been there since....oh man, probably 2008! We stayed there the very first year it opened in 1994. There used to be a show on the Disney channel called "Walt Disney World - Inside Out" and that year, they did an episode all about WL. I STILL have it on VHS! Oh I could go on and on! Makes me wish I was staying there on my upcoming trip!

Those pictures are so cute of little Henry and little Brook too. You both have gown into beautiful people in the last few years. :lmao:
WL is my dream resort to stay at. I love the grounds and the lobby. The rooms are OK, but I wouldn't mind them at all for the exchange of the beautiful grounds.

What sweet then and now pics of Henry. It is so wonderful that he is growing up Disney!

It looks like you guys had a great morning! I love that buffalo chicken flat bread, so I think you made a great choice. How fun that you took the time to pool hop. We don't seem to do that nearly enough when we stay on points.

love love love the comparison pictures!! How sweet was he!!! :) he still is!

I promised my boys that the next time we go, we'll stay at the WL.. they have been wanting to stay there for awhile now.. it such a beautiful resort!

tell me about the food!! All these food pictures on here make me hungry all the time!! I can't wait to go back just to eat!!! :lmao:

I love the pictures of Henry from when he was little to the most rcent picture taken at the WL!!! Just adorable.;) Glad you got to enjoy the pool at the WL too. The gift shop there is one of my all time favorites at the WDW resorts. I love all the WL merchandise offered.

Did I ever comment on the cute pictures of Henry at the WL - then and now! I really enjoyed seeing what a big boy Henry has become!!!! Fun update!

I want that wilderness lodge blanket. I think i'm going to make a special trip to wilderness lodge in October and get it. ;)

My kids surprised me with it as a gift for my 50th birthday. I love it for two reasons - because I think it's cute and because they were so thoughtful

Well, mostly it was Jill that was so thoughtful. The boys just went along with her idea. Maybe that's why I love her more than them.

Brook - Yay for resort hopping! It's one of my favorite activities in Disney World. Henry was too cute running across the bridge.

WL is the only place I've ever stayed. When were you there in 08? We were there and I remember a lady and her son standing by the railing and the boy was giggling at the bubbles from the little brook the whole time we were checking in... could that have been you? We went in April or May... I think... I'd have to check my TR. Anyway... I love the pics! Nice little trip down memory lane.

Great Updates! Love the Boardwalk photos! I am surprised that the Epcot resorts don't seem to have much to offer for CS choices. Love the flashback to little Henry and the photos of WL. We stayed at WL on our first trip in 2007 and haven't been back since. It is actually DH's favorite so far!

I havent found too many like you said. I do have one from the Poly...with Lilo and Stitch on it, and the one from the WL. I just buy a generic one if we cant find a resort specific one. Its a shame that they dont have more. Other resorts may have them, but we have only stayed at the Poly, BLT, WL and POP in recent years.

It is a shame! Years ago I think Pop had a lot of resort merch that was really cute. I hope they bring it back!

Awww, I loved the pictures of "little" Henry walking over the bridge at WL. He's grown so much!

And he keeps growing and growing! This past year he has shot up like a weed!

I love the comparison pictures at the Wilderness Lodge. What a change, such a big boy now. I love pictures like this, and you do so well at recreating the same pictures. I try and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. How in the world do you remember the pictures though that you took so many years ago, so that you can recreate them?

I am a bit of a freak like that....it's just one of those things that stick in my mind--I remember email addresses and other odd details, but I could not tell you what we had for dinner yesterday! It probably helps that I look at my old Disney pics a LOT right before a trip too. And doing the TRs!

Great update Brook; I love how you took us down memory lane with those pictures of Henry as a wee tyke! FUN!

Lunch sounded yummy, and I giggled at Joe's description of his lunch; too funny!

Yup, gotta get those souvies when you see 'em; I've been sorry too many times by not going with my first instinct.

Isn't that funny? But, you can often tell when counter service food has been sitting out, so it gives it that certain blah-ness. WL always seems to be fresher.

A monorail going around the Xmas tree sounds like a great idea!

Isn't that cute? I've heard of a few others doing it as well. I just someday would like a living room large enough for the entire monorail -- let alone putting a tree in the middle of it! ;)

I'm glad to hear they have some SSR stuff! :thumbsup2 I loved the stuff at OKW, it was adorable.

 on the bedspreads. I hate those things too! Hopefully Disney does away with them all over property during the next refurb for each resort.

My parents and I love it! hehe

I moved and the monorail's gonna be under my tree now lol My parents weren't that thrilled hehe

 they can buy their own! ;)

I love the pictures of Henry. Awe, such a sweet "baby".

I know the CR would be huge under the tree but it's so my home ;)

Thank you! It was fun to recreate that moment.

I think it would be a very nice addition to the tree! You could maybe even find a Santa or something to put on the top of it...

Another good souvie would be a Christmas ornament. I have a very pretty one from the Boardwalk, and many other places. It's fun to recall the vacas when hanging them on the tree!

Oh, I would LOVE that! They need to bring those back! Someday when I own a larger tree I will start collecting one from our travels-such a great idea! :cloud9:

It's always an adventure with a child, isn't it??? Overall it was a nice breakfast after everything settled down (and Momma had her coffee...)

That would be such a cool episode!!! We are big WL fans too, it's such a gorgeous resort! We haven't done the villas yet, but I really look forward to it. You should try to hop over there on your upcoming trip. :goodvibes

WL is my dream resort to stay at. I love the grounds and the lobby. The rooms are OK, but I wouldn't mind them at all for the exchange of the beautiful grounds.

:rotfl: Don't I look young?! It was only 3 years ago and man...look what has happened since I turned 30! :scared1: :lmao:

Henry is so cute. Love the pictures of WL. Some day I'll stay there.

Thank you!!! The WL is awesome!

I hope Henry loves Disney World all his years - even as a teen. I think he will, even if we mostly hang out at the pool, or just do the big thrills, I'm okay with that! But I'll still force him into the posed pics.

I think this was our first time pool hopping. We just never have due to time, but with a two week trip we really got a chance to fit in extra things like that! It was wonderful!

love love love the comparison pictures!! How sweet was he!!! :) he still is!

It really is a beautiful resort! Your boys (and you) will love it! I love that it's so close to MK, but it feels like you are a world away.

I love the pictures of Henry from when he was little to the most rcent picture taken at the WL!!! Just adorable.;) Glad you got to enjoy the pool at the WL too. The gift shop there is one of my all time favorites at the WDW resorts. I love all the WL merchandise offered.

It really is a great gift shop! I like that one, AKL and CRs the best I think.

Did I ever comment on the cute pictures of Henry at the WL - then and now! I really enjoyed seeing what a big boy Henry has become!!!! Fun update!

I have no idea if you ever commented - I can't remember either. But, I'll take it! ;) Thank you!

Brook - Yay for resort hopping! It's one of my favorite activities in Disney World. Henry was too cute running across the bridge.

:rotfl2: The truth comes out, Mom's of more than one child DO play favorites!!!!! At least I'm the most loved in our family too, bummer for my brother and sister. ;) Kidding of course!

Well, it could have been us! Henry LOVED that fountain and bridge! Anytime we came down the elevator he had to stop and laugh. It was very sweet. We went in November 2008 - so wrong time of the year! Wouldn't that have been crazy if it was us?!?

Great Updates! Love the Boardwalk photos! I am surprised that the Epcot resorts don't seem to have much to offer for CS choices. Love the flashback to little Henry and the photos of WL. We stayed at WL on our first trip in 2007 and haven't been back since. It is actually DH's favorite so far!

It's a bit frustrating that the Epcot resorts are so limited with CS choices - but having Epcot right there does ease that pain slightly. The BC is better than the BW I think.

The WL is Joe's favorite too! Mine is the BW.
