Marriage: The Trip Report - Update 2/28 - Final Thoughts & Link to Disneyland TR!

Hey Brook... just catching up. again.:headache:

Love EoS.. how was the one in NY? I hope it was as good as the Disney one. :goodvibes

Those Mickey muffins from the Boardwalk bakery are so cool! They can't make a egg sandwich with no cheese??? :sad2:

I love the WL... it is so ummmm outdoorsee. :lmao:

I know you say you didn't mind the 'relaxed' morning... but I wonder if having no plan and just winging it was really killing you. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hey, we have one of these!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I've always wanted to eat at Beaches & Cream.... can't wait to see what you've thought of it. :goodvibes

1210779240_MoPZq-L.jpg

This one is for mickeystoontown! I thought of you while taking that. The outakes on this pic are pretty funny!
Love this photo Brooke!

Someday I will get the cowboy!! I just might ask next time, but I like the element of surprise.

--there is a cowboy who takes you through? awesome. did not know that. we just discovered this for first time this year & rode it 3 times!

Said hello to George...

WARNING CREEPY CLOWN ALERT!

1210813332_6tFcz-L.jpg

Is it just me or is it even more weird that his eyes glow even under refurb? Even though I love George, the black tarp over his "mouth" just makes it all bizarre!

is that a real rollercoaster???

.......

When I got back to the room Henry and Joe were watching Off to Neverland that they had borrowed out from Community Hall. They were snuggled into bed and half asleep.

After the movie, and just before we turned off the light Henry wanted to look out the window...he was looking for Peter Pan.
aaww:lovestruc that is so cute that he was looking for PeterPan!

I apologize that I am months behind so am just catching updates, skipping chatter. somehow your TR did not float tothe top of my subs so I didn't realize i was missing it till I saw it today. but YAY more to read and I always learn something new about WDW on your tr!

That's awesome news Brook!! How cool and what a great pic of Henry!!!

What great news! I submitted a few photos as well and they were chosen too. Henry makes a great poster boy for Mickey bars, that's for sure!

We left off with a sleeping Henry rolling along in his stroller as we slowly left Animal Kingdom.

.....
When Henry woke up we continued to just lay around,

1211144206_H5eKq-L.jpg

we watched a bit of Stacy and then made our way down to the quiet pool.

what does "watched a bit of Stacy" mean?

1211146669_N4LB3-L.jpg

......
On our way out of DTD, when we walked past the Rainforest Cafe Henry noticed the elephant shooting water, and then would stop.

1211184768_BKYvM-L.jpg

So we started a game, he would shout "GO" and the elephant would start. Joe and I figured out the timing, so we'd prompt Henry when to tell the elephant to spray. It was cute, and Henry truly thought that elephant was obeying him. So cute and innocent, I love it!

And I had to get one of these pics!

Your AKL sounds just perfect. I love being able to go through a park and still have a good part of the day left for R&R and shopping.

I hope you caught some video of Henry commanding the elephant, it sounds just priceless!

Love.this.resort!

Inside the lobby we wanted to take some pictures of Henry running over the bridge. On Henry's first trip in 2008 we have these pics from our last day

560983910_snTXN-O.jpg

They are some of my favorite pictures from the whole trip! He was just learning to walk. And now...

1211839562_SE66r-L.jpg

After lunch it was time to SWIM! Henry was itchin' to get in that pool. Outside we went...I had to stop and take pictures, I just can't help it.

1211868305_kbLpX-L.jpg

1211869267_MXc8J-L.jpg

We used the bathrooms near the pool to change in and had a great time swimming. The wind was a tad chilly, but if you stayed in the water it was perfect.

Eventually we pulled ourselves out and moseyed over to the beach. After all, there is sand, Henry must dig!

:flower3: Sigh. I just love the wilderness lodge too. Its too bad that my DH is forever going to be mad at them for messing up rooms and not making his birthday so very special.

Henry is so cute and I love the difference between the slow and cautious Henry with mom and then the big boy with dad looking on. That bridge is a great spot for relaxing at check in too.

I LOVE that totem pole outside the gift shop. wish I had purchased one of the small keepsakes with that on it but alas I didn't. maybe I will get to sneak over w/o Joe on a future trip:goodvibes

so thanks for sharing. Felt like home.

Lovely F&G pics and have to agree in that if there is a hopscotch nearby I have to make sure I have a go!

:woohoo: on the possibility of Henry's pic being chosen by Disney! That is awesome news!

I'm geekin'-out a bit.

This evening I received an email from Disney in regards to this picture that I had uploaded to the Memories website a few months ago:

1210680567_zE42A-L.jpg

And it's made their "short list" for something they are working on! They may use it for part of the "Let the Memories Begin" campaign!

I had to fill out a few legal pages and we will receive 5 character lithographs as a "thank you"...we'll see what happens!!! I'm really excited! Who knows if we will get picked, but it's fun to think about! :hyper:

That is sooo exciting!!! I saw your post on FB and thought, "Now that is a VERY Disney picture!!"

Henry has that quintessential happy to be at Disney look in this picture.:cutie:

Nice pictures Brook and Joe. The boardwalk area looks so calm and peaceful.

:cool1: Woohoo for hopscotch. The people on the scooters are looking at your like "what the........". Too cute!

And the sleeping "big boy" (not a baby anymore) is also to cute.

1210680567_zE42A-L.jpg

I know I posted on your facebook but WOW WOW WOW WOW that is so exciting! :dance3::dance3:

and all of your boardwalk photos and cutting through epcot.....I am about 90% sure that next june we are going to rent DVC points so that we can stay at Boardwalk. I just want it THAT BAD:rotfl::cheer2:

I love that picture...but I have to say I am jealous. You and Lisa both got picked and none of my Clairebear did. LOL! Maybe it's going to be year of the boys! :rolleyes1

What a lovely stroll through Epcot, Brook, and I am just tickled pink that you have made the short list for that picture of Henry! :goodvibes

That is so awesome, Brook!!

Shameless plug......But I started my Trip report for our AEP (Agent Education program) trip. The link is the first one in my signature.

Ooh yes, let's! I'll be there on Friday myself, super excited!

You are there, you are there! :hyper: I can very much see why you'd want to get married right there - it's stunning!

Were you laying on the ground for the one? It is such a cool angle.
It's really neat to see the Beach and Ycaht club from that view. I wish I would've walked over there and took some pictures like that.

I think Joe just put the camera very close to the ground and snapped - perhaps even putting the camera on the ground. I really like that one too - he has such a good eye!

Poor Henry was too tired from digging and playing to see the cute topiaries. I wish they would extend the Flower & Garden Festival on through the end of May like it used to be. I miss seeing all the beautiful flower displays.

I wish they would extend it too! It's SUCH a great festival! Or better yet, just decorate Epcot like that all the time. ::yes::

Such beautiful pictures. I have now discovered the beauty of a slower pace at Disney.

:yay: there really is something great about it, isn't there? I had a fairly good balance on this trip - though a bit too heavy on the slower pace side when I realized in a few days that we still hadn't even seen Wishes! But, you do see a whole 'nother side to Disney when you just go with the flow and go slowly. Magic occurs in unexpected moments!

Gorgeous pictures!! What beautiful shots!!

Thank you! It's not hard to get a good shot of that area! :lovestruc

Mmmm...onion rings. I want onion rings now. *drool*

I really love the pictures of the pooh display at Epcot. I think that display is my favorite from last year, it just reminds me of watching Winnie the Pooh while I was growing up. :goodvibes

I looooove the onion rings at Beaches & Cream. They are like Sci-Fi's, so delicious!

The Pooh display was adorable. They also had the music playing when you walked through that area, which was really fun. I have more/better pics of it later in the week!

What a nice relaxing, slow moving day. It's really hard for me to slow down and just let the world go by. I'm going to make more of an effort to do so next week. By the way, if there is anything I can get/do for you or Henry please let me know. ;)

You are so sweet! If you think of it, he'd love a postcard. :goodvibes I cannot recall if you have my address or not...hit me up here on on FB if you need it! And ENJOY your trip!!!!!!!!! (try to have a down day, they are very magical too!)

Look at how cute Henry is falling asleep with the sticker in his hand. Tired little guy! That picture of you and Joe is great. :goodvibes I really want to take the International Gateway boat ride someday. It sounds nice!

I cannot recall when he even got that sticker, but I agree- it's cute that he was still holding onto that sticker!

The IG boat ride is veryyy nice. I enjoy going from Epcot to DHS via it.

a lovely stroll!!!

Very much so!!

Great update, Brook. The pictures are beautiful. I love the "sleeping Henry" one.

Thank you! There is something extra sweet about a sleeping child - little angels! :goodvibes

Love the flower and garden photos! One day I am going to go during that time. We went at the end of May last year, and I saw a few things that were still up, but I would love to go when everything is in full swing. I just love those topiaries....they do amazing stuff with shrubs and bushes!

I am so glad I had the chance to see the F&GF finally! I have always wanted to see it too, it truly is stunning. And it smells soooooooo good. I cannot count how many times I said, "It smells so good right now!"

Loved this update!! Isn't Flower and Garden so beautiful!! Glad you were able to see some of it!!!

I love that boat too!! SO relaxing and wonderful to use!!!

Can't wait to hear about your dinner!! YUMMY!

Yes, it is! We had a big Epcot day toward the end our trip where I was determined to see it ALL (I did miss a few things, but not much!)

Onion rings and ice cream sounds like a winner. But why, oh why, is everyone posting today when I can't see pictures. I have soooooo much catching up to do tonight!

 I promise we weren't plotting against you!

Great shots of the Epcot Resorts!!!!! So peaceful in feelling...

Thank you! It really is - the sun was starting to set...it was such a nice night!

We were there during about the same time frame as you (though we were staying at POR). Is it weird that while reading your TR and enjoying your pictures, I'm also scanning the background to see if I happen to be in any of your pictures?

 I do the same thing!! Let me know if you see yourself!!

Amazing pics as usual!:thumbsup2

Thank you! This was mostly Joe's doing!

Congratulations! I agree that Henry's picture is a very Disney picture:thumbsup2

I think your photos of the BoardWalk area are so relaxing looking. I can't wait to see your food from Beaches and Cream. Thats a ADR I'm looking forward too in the future!

Thank you! I had posted this pic over on the Disney Food Thread and several people commented on how I should enter it - so I did! I never really expected anything and completely forgot about it!

Beaches and Cream is soooooo good. We've repeated it almost every trip.

Great pics Brook. I also like the Pooh topiary. Such a cute pic of Henry I can see why they want to use it :) I thought about you when we were on the boardwalk last week.

I just love the Boardwalk, I wish I could say I had been there last week! I know our next trip most likely won't be in that area and I'll sure miss it.

That's amazing!!! I think it would be a perfect picture!! I hope they use it somehow!

Thank you! I hope so too, it would be fun! If I hear anything more I'll surely share the news.

Yes, yes it is :cloud9:

What a lovely stroll you had over to the Beach Club!

I'm excited for you that Disney might use Henry's picture, I can see why they picked it too - cute as it can be!!

Epcot during the F&GF is amazing. I hope I can return during that time again.

How cool that Henry's picture might be used in a new campaign!!! I think it would be perfect, it's a wonderful picture! :goodvibes

Looks like a nice and relaxing stroll to the Beach Club - love the pictures of the different topiaries. I'd love to go for the Flower and Garden festival one year, but I'm not sure how DBF's allergies would handle it! He had issues with the normal flowers in December!

Thank you!! Oh no, your DBF wouldn't enjoy the F&GF at ALL, the scents are very strong, I'm sure he'd be a wreck. Though, YOU could go and he could just go to DHS or something. ;)

Wow! That's awesome!!! Your family would be the perfect face for Disney.

Oh, you are too sweet! Thank you! It would be really fun if they used his pic!

:lmao:

Hey, we have one of these!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I've always wanted to eat at Beaches & Cream.... can't wait to see what you've thought of it. :goodvibes

The EoS here is good! It's TINY though, which was disappointing. And no brownies with the cream in the middle! :sad2: But the sandwich was delicious.

And yes, no egg sandwiches without cheese! They mix the cheese right in with the eggs. You'd think they would make some without so those with dairy allergies could also enjoy it. :confused3

That relaxed morning I actually enjoyed! But trust me, that doesn't last forever on this trip...:rotfl:

You will have to make B&C a priority next time! It's really delish!

aaww:lovestruc that is so cute that he was looking for PeterPan!

I apologize that I am months behind so am just catching updates, skipping chatter. somehow your TR did not float tothe top of my subs so I didn't realize i was missing it till I saw it today. but YAY more to read and I always learn something new about WDW on your tr!

Yep! There really is a cowboy that can take over your ride too! I have yet to get him, but I've seen pictures!

No worries about being behind - I am SO behind on everyone's reports, just read when you can! :goodvibes

That's awesome news Brook!! How cool and what a great pic of Henry!!!

Thank you! I really hope they use it!!!

What great news! I submitted a few photos as well and they were chosen too. Henry makes a great poster boy for Mickey bars, that's for sure!

You did?! That's awesome!!!! Which ones??? I LOVE some of your pics, the fun just shines through on them!

Your AKL sounds just perfect. I love being able to go through a park and still have a good part of the day left for R&R and shopping.

I hope you caught some video of Henry commanding the elephant, it sounds just priceless!

Stacy is the gal who does the "Must Do's" on the TVs in the resorts. I like the OLD peppy Stacy versus the current blazer Stacy. I hope they do a more fun one again starting for 2012!

I didn't get any video of Henry commanding the elephant, but you are right-that would have been really cute!

That bridge is a great spot for relaxing at check in too.

so thanks for sharing. Felt like home.

Oh boo! That stinks about the WL messing up during his birthday trip!!! Maybe he'll eventually forgive them....I hope so!

I'm a big fan of the totem pole too, it just adds that extra touch. When/if we ever have more wall/shelf space I might have to get one of those frames and get a family pic for it!

Lovely F&G pics and have to agree in that if there is a hopscotch nearby I have to make sure I have a go!

:woohoo: on the possibility of Henry's pic being chosen by Disney! That is awesome news!

:rotfl: I'm glad I'm not the only adult doing hopscotch! I always look for it in the UK and make sure to hop down. I think Mr. Disney would have approved of my actions! ;)

That is sooo exciting!!! I saw your post on FB and thought, "Now that is a VERY Disney picture!!"

Henry has that quintessential happy to be at Disney look in this picture.:cutie:

Aw, thank you!! I'm thrilled that it even made their "short list" we'll see what happens!!! :hyper:

Nice pictures Brook and Joe. The boardwalk area looks so calm and peaceful.

:cool1: Woohoo for hopscotch. The people on the scooters are looking at your like "what the........". Too cute!

And the sleeping "big boy" (not a baby anymore) is also to cute.

I know! LOL! I didn't even notice the scooter people at the time, but when I posted that pic their expressions made me laugh!

I am really excited about it! I hope I hear something sometime soon if they will use it or not.

The DVC at the Boardwalk is fantastic. It is my favorite! The rooms are beautiful and the location is just superb.

I love that picture...but I have to say I am jealous. You and Lisa both got picked and none of my Clairebear did. LOL! Maybe it's going to be year of the boys! :rolleyes1

And you submitted some SUPER cute pics of Claire!!! Maybe she'll still be picked! I so hope they use Henry's pic, it would be fun to see it!

What a lovely stroll through Epcot, Brook, and I am just tickled pink that you have made the short list for that picture of Henry! :goodvibes

Thank you!!! I'm excited about it!

That is so awesome, Brook!!

Thank you! I'm so curious on what the project is and if he'll get picked!

Shameless plug......But I started my Trip report for our AEP (Agent Education program) trip. The link is the first one in my signature.

:thumbsup2 I know I have read at least some of it, but I can't remember if I have posted yet! I need to get rolling on both of mine so I can start my AEP too, it was such a great trip!!

Let's continue on and eat!

We had arrived at Beaches & Cream at 6:20 PM and we figured there would be quite a wait since they don't take ADRs....but.....there was NONE! We walked right in! :woohoo:

Joe ordered a coffee shake

1211998164_xfpmz-M.jpg

It also came with some in the metal cup

and I ordered a root beer float

1212002777_dUWYW-M.jpg

Yum!!!

Our meal choices were exactly the same:

1212001830_CuB2x-M.jpg

Simple and YUMMY! I cannot recall what Henry ordered - he most likely just ate off my plate.

1212003623_yF2zN-M.jpg

If you've never been here, this is almost the entire restaurant. There are 3 or 4 booths on the left as well, but that's it!

After the ice cream plus all the food both Joe and I were STUFFED!

1212006598_7J45j-M.jpg

After we waddled out we took a slight detour into the Beach Club gift shop. Several people here on the DIS were asking if certain resorts had the new refillable mug design out yet, so I had to scope out the BC QS to see if they had them -- nope, the old design still! We took another few minutes to browse the shop.

1212013309_GGwmB-M.jpg

Me likey.

Eventually we were back in Epcot to get in a couple rides and then enjoy Illuminations.

This was the first time I ever noticed the colored lights on top of the buildings. They flash (and look super cool) during Illuminations. Have those ALWAYS been there?! I was baffled by them, they were so bright and shining in weird directions, they annoyed me to no end that night. I thought they had maybe just been for the F&GF (for some crazy reason), but they were there in May and again in August, so I think it's just the first time I've noticed.

1212015168_ZBUUQ-M.jpg

Someone please tell me these are a new addition....:rotfl:

Henry asked to ride Soarin', but a quick look at the Lines app and I knew the wait was just way too long, so we told him we couldn't tonight. He was bummed, but made another request that was in the front of the park.

1212019749_JDvnY-M.jpg

I know it's hard to tell in this pic, but Henry is clutching that little plastic Mickey figurine he got from the groundskeeper CM at the Boardwalk. Dum, dum, dummmmmmmmmm!

Ah! Here we are! To the request of the little dude, it was time for some Spaceship Earth!

1212045339_iypEC-L.jpg

This guy never gets any love. Everyone is always marveling at Mrs. Yellow Tights and Go-Go Boots. I felt bad for him, so I took his pic. ;)

1212049965_ZHVYD-L.jpg

We spoke about doing Test Track but Henry REFUSED. He started to melt at just the mention of it, and I was still a bit baffled at his reaction to it at the time and just wrote in my notes "Strange...." We quickly adjusted our plans and were going to go for the Donald/Mexico boat ride....but then....on the way....we were sprinkled with some pixie dust....

1212051623_WCu9h-L.jpg

A passerby gave us these! WOO-HOO! We were all thrilled!!!!!!!

Up Next: A Hidden Mickey

What an awesome Soarin' moment!!! That was so nice of those folks!!!

I do love me some Spaceship Earth. :) Good times, good times!
