Marathon Weekend 2023

They used to have a Coast to Coast challenge. It wasn't specifically tied to WDW Marathon and DL 1/2, but the timing of the two made it a quick way to finish that challenge.
Coast to coast is coming back per the blog post. Star Wars was the weekend right after marathon weekend before, Disneyland half weekend used to be around labor day.

If I do doopy the following year after doing this does that count does coast to coast. I have strictes budget that includes only one run per vacation run per year.
So Disneyland 2024 then Doopy 2025. They would be within one year of each other.

The rule has always been that the races have to be run in the same calendar year, so that wouldn’t qualify for C2C. Of course, this is a new era of DL races so there’s always hope.

Wow- the Disneyland news is making my head spin. I haven’t been there since 2015 and I grew up with an annual pass! I absolutely need to run that race.

I’m “only” running the half this weekend. I have been thinking about doing WDW 2024 as my first marathon. Can I do that and run the DL half? I think so right?

My half bib is 411xx with est time of 2:16-2:30

Also, I haven’t seen anyone mention this yet, but DO NOT RELY on the apple wallet download of your expo pass. When you pull it up in your apple wallet it only gives you your name and birthdate. It does not include your bib number, which you need to pick up your bib (you line up by number, not name). I figured this out when I added my expo pass to apple wallet at W&D and it was a hassle. Thought they would fix it this time around so the wallet pass included your bib, but no. Another example of runDisney IT at its finest. I now just take a screenshot of my expo pass on my phone.

My room was ready basically as I walked into the lobby! Chilling here a bit before I go explore the resort a bit and have dinner at Boma tonight and the nighttime safari. I have never done either of these, so really looking forward to it.

The DL HM dates are something I really need to consider and see if I can talk my husband into running. As a government employee, I get MLK day off, so I already have the Monday following this race weekend. And since school will have just started back I might be able to get those days pretty easily. I started Rundisney right after DL races went away so I would LOVE to get a chance to run there!

I can't get my expo pass, I can't even get into my account as I just get the stitch error once I've logged in. I've tried calling RunDisney, tweeting etc and nothing works. Anybody have any idea how to get in touch with them? I've found someone else who has the same problem as me on twitter and they do haven't been able to get hold of anyone that can help.

Question for anyone that has been to an expo recently. Where exactly does your expo pass get checked? Is it just getting your bib? Is the virtual queue just for merch? i.e. can I just show up tomorrow morning with no expo pass before my virtual queue return time and get in to speak to guest services?

Appreciate the help!

Your expo pass is really only used for the actual bib pick up. If you need to sign a waiver they'll have paper ones on hand. There will be a specific expo pass booth as well for issues with that as there was one at Wine & Dine.

You’re probably not going to be able to get hold of them right now with the race looming. Your best bet is to go to Runner Relations at the Expo to get it straightened out. The only thing the Expo Pass is used for is to show them you’ve signed your waiver on the way to pick up your bib. Nothing to do with the VQ.

Thank you so much!

Apparently this other person has been trying for weeks! Thanks for the info!

7:20am flight out of Houston this morning was a success. Easy flight as you could ask for. Handful of runners on the flight. All checked in for our one night at Coronado Springs before moving over to AKL tomorrow. Now just need to work for a few hours before heading over to Magic Kingdom for some fun this evening.

I feel like MCO baggage claim is always terrible but 1.5 hours is really bad!
This morning, our bags were already on the carousel by the time we de-boarded, used the restroom and got down to baggage claim. First time ever. Walked right over to National Emerald Club, grabbed the rental car, and we were on our way. Easily less than 30 minutes for everything. Hopefully that is a sign of things to come for the week.

All the travel worries made me start worrying too - I'm only running the half, and was scheduled to fly down 7am Friday. I moved my flight to Thursday night, just so I'm there (I should have done that all along!).

RANDOM MCO QUESTION: I have a one night free pass with Marriott - any recommendations for a Marriott MCO hotel? There are so many to choose from (the ones right near MCO - swan/dolphin/swanR are not available). I just need a place to crash for the night when I land at 11pm. Checking into VGF the next day.

I think you mean....."A New Hope"....oh wait, that was Star Wars weekend. (Well, DL will be the same weekend that SW used to be way back when!)
