Okay, I called and had to wait for a callback.
According to the nurse, they can't control when there are openings at the imaging center ... that being said, if the doctor were uber-concerned, he likely would make sure there was an appointment available for me. It was kind of wierd - she asked who had called me, and I told her the hospital where the imaging center is contacted me. So now I'm wondering if the films were just unclear and if my doctor has even seen them at all.
Of course, she couldn't/wouldn't comment on that.
She did say, however, that 1 in 10 women have to have additional images, particularly with a first mammo, so just because I've been called back shouldn't be cause for immediate concern.
Thank you all for the support and advice. If there is anything to update with after the follow-up (or if I hear from the doctor himself), I will post.
