FUN! I am already wanting to plan another trip! That week went WAY TOO FAST! I was tempted to book during the free dining....but I guess we will wait a year or so!

Where are you gonna stay?

We were looking at free dining but had to work around my husband and my vacation restrictions (due to backups for both of us). Add the the pain and suffering we endured getting Maddie caught up with school work - I couldn't consider pulling her out of school again in good conscience LOL.

We're going July 25 - August 1. Staying at WL Woods View w/ bunk beds. 8 day hoppers with dining plan.

I should start a pre-trip report, huh? LOL I will once I get my Wish trip report finished.

Hi everyone I am finally back on here again. Sounds like alot of people were having a rough go about the same time as we were. My dd is stilll struggling with her mono but things are starting to get better
We were in the hospital over the weekend but this time with my ds. Yes, he has been diagnosed with asthma. He started wheezing and not breathing so I freaked and thought it was pneumonia or something. Now we are doing breathing treatments for him and meds he is still struggling and I feel really overwhelmed as I am the only one who will care for my dd and now I have my ds to care for. Good thing I stay at home.....

I will still keep everyone in my prayers and please do the same for me.

I know what you mean, your dealing with one childs illness and then suddenly you are confronted with another child having a diffrent illness. Actually just took my dd to the polmonologist yesterday and looks like she also has asthma. She has been struggling with breathing problems for over a year and now the doctor has her on a nebulizer treatment and an inhaler. I agree with you, it is quite over welming.

My son is just starting to get jealous of my dd so we do special stuff together with just the two of us (or him and his dad). It really helps.
Also find stuff that is important to them (for my kids it is picking which park or walk or who gets to hold the dog etc.) We made a jar and when they are being kind to one another we let them pick out of the "Joy Jar". They don't get to pick every time but at my dh and my discretion. They kiddo's never know when they will be "caught" being kind. It really helps and makes my ds feel like he is special to.

Love the "Joy Jar" idea. We are letting our kids earn trading pins that we got on ebay. This way they have ones to trade on the trip.

Treatment went well, but Dev's not doing well... H1N1 was mentioned...fever is 102.9 and rising,and he is asleep with his head laying in a pink hospital bucket... Now we watch and wait...

Well I made reservations this morning at the Disney All Star Movies resort. Unfortantely we couldn't get into the pop century. The kids are going to be so excited to be able to stay Disney. So our last two day on our trip will be at Disney.

Now if I could just finalize our pleans for our days. Where to go when??

Question to those have extended their trip did your GKTW button have your full trip dates on them? Are we going to have trouble going to Disney after our stay at GKTW is done?

Now I need to go to Target to get a few things for our trip. Wow I can't believe how quickly it is coming.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We made it through the night w/o having to give my ds any breathing treatments. My dd has mad it through 2 1/2 days of school w/o coming home sick. Her blood is starting to be more regulated in the good zone (although at betime last night she was really really high (in the 400's) so I kept her awake until they came down.

For all of you who know that I am the only one who will care for my dd diagnosis and now my ds asthma I have some super great news
My brother called yesterday and volunteered to learn about my dd's care so he can take her for a few hours this weekend (that is if she is having an o.k. day). I am so excited, it was a totally unexpected phone call because my whole family (hubby included) won't have anything to do with the blood, needles and responsibility of measuring food and counting carbs. I know it is because of all the prayers that is flooding heaven right now

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. This week is going so much better I hope it continues.

For anyone needing luggage, Kohl's sale ends today.

Also we leave in a little over 3 weeks. Would it be rude to call our wish granter and ask for travel times and when our dinner res. is for? I really want to start that part of the planning but I don't want to seem rude.

We LOVE pop! But we love the movies just as much! I am glad they had rooms! It is fun to just walk around and look at everything!

I had emailed GKTW the same question last week because we are extending our trip by 4 extra days, and in their response email they said that our GKTW button would expire the day we leave, but we would still have our MAW genie stickers/pins that came with our MAW packet to use in the parks. I hope this helps you.

The GKTW button does have dates on them...but very small print that I doubt the CM's would even look at...and if they did you could just explain that you extended your trip.
You do not give them your button back.
And some CM's were more interested in seeing his GAC card...maybe that is because he was in a wheelchair??

That is so strange...I don't remember one instance where they asked to see our GAC? Maybe it is because I was wearing it (it got in Lauren's way)...and she sported that button and made sure the CM saw it? I am not sure...but they never asked us for the GAC? Very strange.

We extended our trip. It only ended up being 1 extra day as Noah got sick there, but we used our button and GAC with no issues that extra day. The button has dates in such tiny print that the CM would have to actually examine it closely to read the dates. If they would have asked, I would have just explained that we extended our wish trip. They did look at our GAC, but again just a glance, never bothered to read the dates on it. I figured if I had issues with the GAC, I would just go to guest relations and request another one with the right dates on it, but there was no need. (You can get a GAC for your specific needs on any trip, not just a wish trip...lots more about that on the disability boards).

-How far in advance do you have to sign up?
-How do I sign up?
-Do they make stuff for all the kids in the family, or just the wish kid?
-Do they just make tshirts? I have 3 brothers that wouldnt be too into disney shirts haha.

I just posted some pictures to our PTR from our send off party. It was fun.

Packing is going well. Just have to finish tomorrow afternoon. We are set to leave for the airport about 6:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Do tell about a send off party... I don't know if this is something our wish organization does, but it sounds fun!

Also, it sounds like DL has a lot of great suprises for us... We will let you guys know when we get back. The phone call for a cast there was a great suprise for me.
