Major Disney refurb and construction completion dates worldwide

The new film is supposed to debut that day but I've heard the attraction will open earlier than the 17th with the old film.

If that would be the case, I'd be fine with that. We haven't been on it in many years and my DS has never been on it.

So when do we think they mean "summer 2016" like for the new fireworks at HS? Do you think there's any chance that would include the first week in June? .

I'm waiting for something more firm about this, also. It just may be the tipping point on if I skip DHS this trip, or not. I'm starting to think I picked a lousy week to go this time, between Soarin' and the start of the SW fireworks....

My sister said to me yesterday "I am just DONE with Hollywood studios". I LoL'd. Very much looking forward to the changes being made there, but don't know how long I can wait. Actually kind of happy we did an odd November Trip in 2015 and wont be going this May ... but I do keep thinking about just heading down and hanging out at the resort ...

I'd say probably likely with the new fireworks and frozen but the new Soarin film isn't supposed to debut until June 17th.

The new Soarin film won't even soft open before the 17th due to the exclusivity agreement with Shanghai. The rest could very well soft open.

I will be in the World in July. I plan on going to EPCOT and want to book FPs in advance. Do you think I will be able to book Soarin FPs for July in May even though the ride does not open until June? TIA.

They haven't announced an official date yet so I would assume once they announce that they will open FP booking.

Oh I know that's been a weird case. A lot of it has to do with the possibility of it not being ready.

I know the Rivers of Light show isn't going to open until April 22 but, do you think they will have a soft opening? I'll be there the 19th and 20th and have my fingers crossed!

There have been a lot of technical problems so it's going to be close. There is supposed to be a media event April 19th. It's possible they still might do a soft opening type thing on the 20th or 21st but it's no guarantee.

Question - the Soarin' ride at Shanghai is called Soarin' over the Horizon not Soarin' over the World so is it the SAME FILM or something different? Why the different name? Not following the reason to postpone the debut in the US if it's a different ride?!

It is the same film. I don't know why it has the different name though.

It has a different name like Ariel's Undersea Adventure is titled Under the Sea in MK.
