Saw on TouringPlans today that ROL is expected to debut on June 15th now. No idea how legit that was, but here is the link. https://touringplans.com/animal-kingdom/attractions/rivers-of-light

Wife and I just had to change our anniversary trip dates from NOV to 6/15-6/20. Went from having no worries about all these attractions being open to being worried we may miss all of them.
That's gotta be a guess on their part. Probably Len going off what Jim Hill has said.

With the additional Soarin' Theater and the additional FP+ demand FEA will bring in, I don't see any reason why all 3 should have to be tier 1. Not to mention you will have the Frozen meet and greet coming to Epcot from MK. I suspect both FEA and the M&G would be tier 1, and either Soarin' or Test Track, whichever one has the most capacity. The other should become tier 2. But if not, I'll just continue with my current strategy of avoiding Epcot and not wasting a day's worth of FPs to get 1 decent FP selection.

I hope they don't have both the Frozen ride and the M&G as separate Tier 1 options ... as someone with young kids very excited for this it would be hard to tell them they only get to do 1 of them (assuming the standby lines for both are ridiculously long)

I actually am curious if the M&G will be a Tier 2. It would seem that if they are both Tier 1 they would bring even more crowds to a very congested area. The most efficient way to keep that area clear is to encourage people to fight the mob to get to Norway, do both attractions quickly and then leave. Encouraging people to the attractions on two separate days just drives up the crowd in Norway. The same also applies if you have 2 separate large groups who are required to be there at the same time and then will feel pressure to jump into the stand-by line for the other. It is in everyone's best interest for some of that riders to be pushed to off prime times and do around the same time. I would certainly like that more than making it a 2 day or stand-by only line.

At same time, I am guessing they need at least enough Tier1 to give people a chance. I am guessing Soarin, Test Track, Frozen Ever After, and Mission Space are Tier 1. The rest turn into Tier2.

Meet and Greets have such limited capacity for FP. Making it a tier 2 makes no sense. Yeah, everyone will want both, that's why you make them both tier 1, so if you don't get 1 you at least get the other. That's the point of tiers. That's why Soarin and Test Track have both been tier 1s. I don't like that I can't get both, but I accept it. And keeping Mission Space at tier 1 DEFINITELY shouldn't happen. If we are dropping something to tier 2 (Other than Mission Space which is a given) then it should be Test Track or Soarin', but I doubt they will do that.

I think the difference between Test Track and Soarin is the location. I could be over thinking, but I suspect they will suffer not only heavy crowds at each attraction, but the general congestion around Norway is going to be an issue.

I don't know that I'd be willing to wait in a huge line/get FPs for/book a dining package for "Rivers of Some Light". They should wait until it's done, IMO.
While I agree this would only be a placeholder to tie people over until then.

what a bummer :( I keep referring to it as "the hottest ticket in town" and it's now a running joke between my DH and I because he could care less about the shows and I've been obsessed with wanting to see it. Guess my hottest ticket will have to be something else.
