Yikes, I just got off the phone with MS and I am so confused!! :scared1: I am going down to BCV with my parents Aug 20-28, doing ME, and DDP. My sis-in-law and 3 year old niece are going to come down the 23-28. I called to add them on, that was no problem. But apparently they cannot do the dining plan for their part of the stay! :confused3 They can only do it if they pay from the 20th on. Even though they won't be there. And apparently, they can't do ME at all - only if they arrive on the 20th. I couldn't believe it. I said to the woman, what if it was the same family - husband and wife - and the dad follwed a day later. They said it would be the same thing. She also said she totally did not agree with it at all. Either I don't register them at all and have them there as guests - no keys for them, no dining, etc. Or they have to register and pay the whole time for plan. But regardless, they can't get ME. I thought as long as you were staying on Disney Property you could get ME. I am so upset, she already booked her flights and now I'm at a loss of what to tell her! She thought she could do the dining plan and not pay a taxi - so now I'm about to tell her all this extra money. Anyone have any words of advice or experienced something different?? At this point, I'd pay the extra $150 myself for the 3 days of their plan, but I really can't see why they can't take ME. I swear I've read on here people having guests arriving later by it. HELP!!! :guilty: :sad2:  :sad1:

We just got back from BWV on 5/26 and had a similar situation. They are correct that eveyone in the room must have the same dining plan. My dd boyfriend arrived 2 days after us and had to pay for the full 7 nights, as for the ME, he had no trouble getting it, I just called MS and gave them his flight info and his luggage tags were sent in plenty of time. I would call again and hopefully you get the correct info this time.

I assumed you are all booked into the same room?
the reason for this ( and I'm not saying I agree, but I've spoken to them about how their system works ) is that the names are all tied to the reservation. and even if they arrive on the 23rd, they are tied to the room which has a booking start date of the 20th.

DDP requires that everyone in a room has to take DDP for the entire length of stay. as far as the room booking goes, that starts the 20th. I guess for the magical express, it's a similar situation. It sees the check0in date as the 20th, so they have to arrive the 20th to take advantage of it.

kinda lame, but that's software for ya.

The info MS gave you about the DDP is correct. RE: DME, I have read reports of people arriving on different days and using DME. You could call MS back and hope you get someone else or better yet, go to the members' website and try booking DME for your late arrivers online.

you can just have 2 seperate ressies....that's what i did bc my mil is coming for part of our trp.so we can all do ddp an me

You can do ME for guests that arrive on a different day. We're doing it in October and have done it before. I'm leaving a day earlier than the rest of my family, and that's fine too.

The dining plan information was right. IF it were me, probably we would just pay for the whole time, and go to Artist Point, or Flying Fish to use some credits. I think it will make everything easier for when they are there, but I can understand if that's unacceptable.

If you're too stressed out to talk to MS again, just go to the web site and add the information regarding ME. You'll get a confirmation via e-mail in a few days.

On ME if you still get a no, just call Disney directly and skip MS. LOL! They can do it for you.

Do a "split stay" & have it linked.

One res for 3 nights starting Aug 20 & the other for 5 nights starting Aug 23 that included sis & DN.

As long as the accmmodatin type is the same for both ressies & MS links them you won't have to move.

Sis will only be on the 2nd res so she will only pay DDP for those nights & she will show as arriving on the correct day for ME purposes.

I don't think this will work, but you could ask.

In a similiar situation, I was told that if the 2 reservations were NOT linked, you may have to move, but could have the dining plan for only 1 of the reservations if you wanted. If the 2 reservations WERE linked, then you would have to have the dining plan for the entire stay for the entire party.

Hi everyone!!
Thank you all for your advice! :goodvibes I did try and split the stay like a couple of you suggested, but MS said I would have to go on the waiting list for BCV and would be better off just keeping it. So I had decided to just pay the difference for my sis-in-law and use the credits before she got there like one of you said. But after adding her on to all of my ADRs, it worked out she would be there 6 days (5 nights) and one of them was Hoop-De-Doo, we added the BCV breakfast before leaving for the airport, and she made her own ADR for Cinderella's Castle. So - she ended up needing the 8 TS anyway bc of the meals that take 2 TS!!!! :) So I was happy bc now I don't have to pay the extra $150!! LOL!!! :rotfl: I also went online and registered her for ME and just got a confirmation email saying she was booked. :thumbsup2 So I guess it all worked out in the end!!! Thanks again for all the advice, I used a bit of all of it ;) All is well that ends well!! I knew posting here would help me out - awesome! :thumbsup2 Now I just have to wait until August to get there, all this excess planning has made me all super-excited again!!:dance3:

thank you so much! :goodvibes I am really looking forward to this trip!! I'm treating my parents to the trip and the dining plan (I told them in Feb no bday, mother's/father's day, anniversary, xmas, etc. gifts until 2008!!!) and this will be my sis-in-law's and little nieces 1st trip to a Disney resort. So i am on :cloud9: being able to share this all with them. We're eating at LeCellier, 50's Prime Time, Norway Akershush, HDDR, Clam Bake at BC, Morrocco, Coral Reef, and BC breakfast! I gave my parents my Birnbaums in January and said write down everywhere you would want to eat, lol! So it is all their picks! Thankfully they all sounded good to me too!! We've only ever done counter service at Disney, so this is going to be awesome! Last time we went to BC we couldn't get into the clam bake, so this time we booked it early!! I'll be pigging out!! popcorn::
