Advice for early August 2026

I have to be in California for an event on August 8 so am trying to plan 2-3 days at Disneyland around that time. I just saw the 70th officially ends 8/9 so wondering how that will likely affect crowds. Debating whether it’d be better to go to the park 8/6-8/7 or 8/9-8/10. I would like to see Paint the Night if possible but it’s not a dealbreaker - do you think that’ll end right on 8/9? Thanks for any advice!

Very likely they will stop the parade and fireworks related to the 70th on 8/10. If you are interested in these I would do 8/6-8/7. I expect the last days of Paint the Night to be very crowded with locals/Magic Keys seeing it one last time.

The 70th celebration - character costumes, PTN, Wondrous Journeys, cavalcade, etc. will end right on the 9. PTN and Wondrous Journeys will pull local MK holders in the evening. However, August 9 is a Sunday and PTN is late in a nighttime parade. You might find Friday and Saturday are busier for people who need to work on Monday morning.
