Maid Tips?

I am hoping someone can please tell me the correct amount of $ to tip the maid service for cleaning the room? This year we are staying at Pop w/adjoining rooms and I am unsure what to leave? Do you tip per room and if so how much? Thanks for the info.

We tipped about $1 per person per room. I rounded up a bit and left $5 per room because I was very happy with the service.

WE also do $1 per person per day. Leave your tip clearly marked that it is a tip for mousekeeping. I have left tips during the middle of our stay and the money is still there when we returned to our cleaned rooms.

I leave about the same, although on my solo trips I feel badly only leaving $2, so I generally do $5 then too.

And I also leave a tip each day with a small "thanks" note because the mousekeeper won't always be the same day to day.

Tipping is NOT reguired but IS appreciated.

We leave $1/person and an extra $1. So DH and I leave $3/day. We are extremely neat people and do not make a mess. If we were messy I would make it $5. We leave our tip each morning. I put it in a cut envelope that says thank you and the envelope is put on our unmade bed pillow.

We're a family of five and we leave $5 per day. I may up the mousekeeping envelopes and fill them before I leave home. I usually leave them on top of the pillows on the bed.

We had joining room and I left 2-4 dollars a day depening on how many ones I had in my purse.But we cleaned up every day ourselves.

I have never needed adjoining rooms. Maybe the OP was wondering how much extra, if any? Or is it just a standard $1 or $2 pp pd? If I needed the extra space, instead of tipping $5, for me DH and dds 15 and 2, I may leave $8. Surely some of us have experience w/ this to share

DH and I are usually clean and neat people.
In our previous 2 times to WDW - we have failed to leave tips for mousekeeping (you know how it is - you meant to but then never did)
Our cleaning service has always been fine though.

I want to start leaving a tip this next trip though.
Does it really matter if we do or don't? I mean its not
like at a restaurant - these people are paid well I'm sure....

Am I a bad DISer??

Oh christ not another one of these posts ! Mousekeeping is not a tipped profession if u want to tip them fine do it , if u dont u dont....Sometimes they dont even take it ....With the way they've been cleaning my rooms on my previous trips they dont even deserve a tip
