Pre-MagicBand we just carried all tickets and pertinent documents in our lanyards or backpack. Will we still need to carry these around with us? I hate to wear a lanyard if I don't need it for tix, but also don't want to risk losing them out of a backpack or wallet. So do you still carry everything just in case?

No. We never bring anything other than our magic bands.

With the Magic Bands there is no documents any longer, all are linked to the magic band. All of your park tickets, room key, FP's everything but your ADR's...you can even link your credit card, so you don't have to carry that. I only carry my license, in case I get carded for alcohol, :P. I have heard of sometimes the magic band did not work for paying for something, so some people carry their credit card as a back up, but it always worked for me.

You may need to carry ID if you want adult beverages. Also you may wish to carry a back-up of a small amount of cash just in case.

In addition to my MB I carry a very slim card case with my ID, debit card, credit card, and a bit of cash. I never want to be stuck without an alternate form of payment if there is a glitch using the MB or somewhere doesn't take it.

I take my MB along with DW license and credit card. I leave my credit card and license in the room safe. That way if we lose her credit card, we have a back up that is still activated. Don't know how we could get back on the plane with out her license. She is getting her passport next month so maybe bring both and just leaving those in the safe will work too. I wouldn't carry the credit card but the Disney card gets 10% off over $50 and they can't tell when it is linked to the band.

I'm going to bring my credit card and my license - still haven't decided the best way for carrying them. On our first trip during the MB testing I carried a backpack because it was only two days in the parks, but for a longer trip I'm not going to want to lug stuff.

I carry my ID along with a back-up credit card and $20-$40 in case of an emergency.

On my last trip there was one evening where charging to magic bands was down across the entire resort. Also, at some F&W booths, the magic band readers weren't working because they were overheated due to being in the direct sun.

So having a back up form of payment is a good idea.

Yes, I do. But we have AP and to get the discount we have to show it. So I carry my ID, my Disney Visa (you have to show it for discounts too), my AP and my TIW in a wallet that also holds my cell phone.

Also a DVC member card. Must show it for discounts. Would be really nice if MB's contained Disney Visa, TIW, AP and DVC. We would truly bring nothing but the MB if that were the case.

I did forget about the DVC card. Add that to the list. I wished they were all linked somehow.

Magic Band or not, I always carry a photo ID, credit card, some cash and my medical insurance card. Magic bands don't work if you need to make an unexpected visit to a drug store, clinic or hospital.

Only magic band as far as tickets are concerned

Also carry:
Debit cards/cash
Photo ID (everyone needs incase issue with tickets or bands)
AP discount card

Be warned...we just returned from a trip and charging privileges NEVER worked on our bands. We went to customer service twice and it was never resolved. Fast passes and tickets were not a problem, but charging was. That is the second trip in a year we have incurred problems with charging. Oddly, it is only when DH is with us that we have these problems, LOL! When it's just me and the kids, everything goes smoothly (this is our 6th trip in a year...gotta get our money's worth out of our annual passes, LOL!)! :)

Thanks all. Yes, was mostly thinking about gate and MNSSHP tickets. All other important items go with us either way including ID, medical card, etc. We won't even charge food/purchases to MB to avoid "end of the week" sticker shock......

We've never had a vacation that didn't come with some sort of MB-related payment failure, so we always bring a credit card as a backup. We're AP holders, so we need to bring that, and our ID, and our TIW card.

I do bring my ID and credit card, but I don't bring anything else. My FP and ADR times are on my phone (I save screen shots in case internet is slow or the app goes down). I do think it's good to have an alternate form of payment on hand in case you experience issues with pin numbers, dining credits, or the MB scanners somewhere - which is actually pretty common.

I have never brought "everything" as I use my "park wallet" which holds my ID, printed itinerary card, 1 CC and a little cash, maybe one Disney gift card if I have one. I could probably ditch the CC in favor of the band, but I still would want to have my ID and a little cash on hand.

I still carry ID, CC, cash and AP. AND insurance card, TiW ... even a backup MB.

Since I usually carry a backpack, (size varies if I'm carrying lunch or big camera), I just put all in a small wallet and put it in a zippered pocket. I don't ever want to waste a ton of time if my MB malfunctions aka scanning FP+, doesn't work, walk all the way back to GR ... and that is if I have ID to prove who I am OR dining and glitch, no access to DDP - have to pay and get it worked out later .... get to turnstile at rope drop, MB doesn't work - now long line at GR and miss short ride lines. They are cheaply produced technology and it would not be unheard of for them to poop out on you so no way I am going in depending on just them.
