MagicBand- Do you still carry everything?

Call me paranoid, but in case of emergency I feel that I need my gov't issued photo ID and ability to pay for things "outside of the bubble". The key for me with the MB isn't "how much do I bring", it's how often I have to take them out to use them. The true benefit for me with the MB is that you don't have to fumble with tickets, keys, credit card for charges in the park and FPs. Taking an AP or TiW card out at the end of a meal is far less troublesome than finding and presenting 4 FPs at an attraction or a room key when you are exhausted at the end of the day. I slim down my wallet, but still take the essentials for daily life: ID, credit/debit card, insurance cards, but leave all loyalty and misc. cards at home.
I also bring a zip lock bag for Splash Mountain and other water rides or the pop-up rain shower.

We take with us our credit card (Disney credit card for big purchases so we can get the discount), some cash and our ID's.

OR dining and glitch, no access to DDP - have to pay and get it worked out later

I carry my wallet with me, but if I were on the dining plan I wouldn't pay a meal with a CC and get it worked out later any more than I would buy a one day pass and get it worked out later if my MB didn't work at the entry gate.

I used to carry only my MB until I had a snafu with my credit card on my MDE account and I couldn't buy food. Now I put my cell phone in a case with a little money, an ID - which I needed once when there was a ticket snafu - and my AP.

Pre-MagicBand we just carried all tickets and pertinent documents in our lanyards or backpack. Will we still need to carry these around with us? I hate to wear a lanyard if I don't need it for tix, but also don't want to risk losing them out of a backpack or wallet. So do you still carry everything just in case?

I wear my magic band and in a small card case/wallet in my pocket of backpack I have my DL, my Disney Visa (some discounts require DV to be seen), and 20 bucks in cash.

Still bring a wallet, but (as a former FP- runner) I don't have to carry the family's park and FP- tickets :cool1:

I keep ID, one credit card, health insurance card, one $20 bill in a slim card wallet at the bottom of the bag I carry - no need for it to be routinely accessible, but I don't want to be caught without it. I also store pictures in my cellphone of the backs of any MYW/party tickets that have been linked to our MBs - I know in pre-FP+ days a lost ticket could be replaced more easily if you had a picture of its serial number, so I figure having those pictures will also help if our tickets somehow unlink from our MBs, especially for tickets not bought directly from Disney.

I still carry everything I carried before.

ID for any ID-related reason.
CC just in case (or when we don't have room charging set up)
Ticket media, whatever we have for that trip; if AP, then that or the discount card for discounts
DVC card
some cash
insurance card (we are magnets for bad medical care, so if we end up at the ER, why make it even more annoying by not having that?)

I have a Witz brand "see it safe" that I put on whatever lanyard I want to wear (partial to my Ravenclaw house tie lanyard even at Disney) so none of those things are in hand.

I find nothing convenient about the MB. Nothing whatsoever.

This thread got me thinking - if our AP is connected to the Magic Band, do we not need it for any AP merch discounts? Or do we still need it? It's my first trip with MBs coming up and there's so much I don't know.

Ok that is your choice. I'm not wasting valuable park time arguing with a restaurant manager and waiting on phone calls to be made. I shall enjoy my day and let my resort fix it.

I'll be carrying my ID and Disney Visa. I'm told that even old folks like me get carded at Disney and I need the Visa for the meet and greets and discounts. I would much prefer not to carry anything, but I am not willing to risk the tragedy of margarita-less travel.

You might be OK at Disney owned locations, otherwise (like at Teppen Edo) you may need the AP Discount card to prove AP ownership (we got ours in the bottom of our AP magic bands box)

Actually, you need to show the AP discount card AND your ID to get your AP discounts. There is no discount-related information that is accessed via MB, regardless of venue.

Thanks! I must have confused AP with DVC and/or TIW discounts.
It's fun grilling CM's, "Do you take TIW? AP? DVC?"

(And I know DVC and TIW required their cards. July was my 2nd AP trip, but we didn't get discount cards when we upgraded to AP's in December, and didn't find our AP discount cards until half-way through our July trip.)

I still carry a small wallet, because I'm still going to need cash, ID, insurance card and credit card. I also still carry my AP, both as backup if the band somehow fails or gets lost and to get the discount on merchandise.

I still carry them.

When we went on our last trip (before we upgraded to AP) we booked a package and Disney didn't even give us ticket cards. I think you only get them with a package if you request them.

I'm going to bring my credit card and my license - still haven't decided the best way for carrying them. On our first trip during the MB testing I carried a backpack because it was only two days in the parks, but for a longer trip I'm not going to want to lug stuff.
I suggest carrying your health insurance card as well. If something happens and you need to get transported to the hospital, your life will be much much easier if you have your insurance card in your possession.

I think Hopper would only pay with a cc if there w

Absolutely! (See post #12 in this thread.)

Things I need to carry:

Picture ID
Disney annual pass or discount card (no discounts without it)
Disney gift card I got as a present
DVC membership card (if I want to go to Top of the World or get a DVC discount I need it)
TIW card (no discount without it)
Credit card (yes I still carry it)
Health insurance card
Some cash (always)
