Hi,

Our flight going home is scheduled for 5:45pm. What time will Magical Express pick us up?

Also...what do we do with our luggage during the day before then?

Thanks so much!

The day before you check out you will receive a transportation notice with your pick up time. It will be about 3 hours prior to flight. You can take your luggage to the motor coach pick up location at your resort earlier in the day if you would like.

We had a late flight last time so we turned our luggage in and then went to the parks until time to head to the airport. It is SOOOO nice to not have to worry about luggage. :cool1:

If I had to guess I think your pickup time would be 2:00pm. it's usually 2:45 minutes before departure.

I have a quick question.....if she's doing Resort Airline Check-in, she'll also need to do this that morning, right ? Give whatever luggage is being checked to the RAC desk (if you're checking luggage) then give bell services whatever you're not checking on the plane. Then you can pick your "carry on" items up from bell services when you are ready to get on ME?

can someone please correct me if this is wrong ?

Please make sure to leave plenty of time to get back from wherever you are to catch the ME coach! Assume the worst transportation could happen, because it may.

The first time we used ME we used RAC, checked our carryons, and went to DTD. We wanted to eat at the resort before leaving, so we were at the DTD bus stop two hours before departure.

Guess what?

It took one hour and forty minutes to get back to the resort! :scared1: The bus didn't even arrive for at least an hour. I even called the number on the back of the KTTW card after 30 minutes. "A bus is on the way, sir." Yeah, right.

When it did arrive, it then stopped at every DTD bus stop and Typhoon Lagoon. Ouch! It was packed to the gills, too.

We had barely enough time to chow down on whatever was readily available at the food court. To top it all off, the ME bus ended up arriving 20 minutes late. :rotfl2:

If you are using the RAC desk, you can check your luggage between 5:00 am and 1:00 pm. It will automatically go to the airport. If you have baggage fees, you can pay them at the RAC counter.

If you are not using a participating airline, (or if you are using Southwest and staying at CBR or OKW) you can check your luggage at baggage services. They will give you a claim ticket. Just be back a bit early, so that you can give them time to claim it from the baggage area.

Your departure time will be around 2:45 pm, but you should be at the bus stop about 15 minutes early.

Check out the transportation board for any other items that you may need to know.

No. There may not BE a "next bus", if nobody at your resort is scheduled leave a half hour or hour after you. If there is a convenient bus, it's likely there will already be so many Guests at your resort and its other stops assigned to it that it won't be abot to accommodate you.

Don't miss your assigned bus. Your scheduled time is the time it leaves your resort, not the time it arrives; be waiting with your entire party and any luggage at least fifteen minutes early. If you DO miss it, plan to make your own arrangements to get to the airport.

I have a silly question....how does the RAC know what the airline bagges fees are that you need to pay. For example, I'm flying American Airlines but I was ticketed prior to their baggage fee increases so I'm supposed to pay less per bag than the current baggage fees. It sounds petty now that I've typed this!!

They'll know. They know everything ;) Seriously - the information about paying baggage fees with be with the packet left on/under your door the day before departure. I think, but I'm not positive, you just pay when you check in at the RAC counter (you used to have to call some toll-free number and pay in advance).

That may be true BUT in 3 times using ME I have never been on a bus more than half full, usually less.

But you never know.

Take for instance the weekend I arrive - I check-in the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I have been told that 2/3 of the resort occupants leave that day to get the extra day at home after the long holiday week.

While I am in a nearly empty bus, because they are scurrying buses back to the resort as fast as they can - the buses coming to the airport are filled to the gills. Not an empty seat in the house.

So just because you may have taken the bus a few times and it was half empty (like for me) doesn't mean it is going to be that way all the time.

That's great - but because Guests returning to the airport are assigned to a specific pick-up time and location, if one or more Guests misses that pick-up, Walt Disney World isn't responsible for getting any such parties to the airport in time for their (respective) flights.

Just a tip that we used last time. After barely making the bus on the previous trip, we decided that we wouldn't eat at our resort on the trip (WL- WCC) and wait until we received our pick up time. When we found out we were being picked up 1:45. We then scheduled a ADR on that day for WCC at 12:00. It was a peaceful meal, knowing that it was the last thing we were going to do on the trip and we ate so much that we didn't think about eating until we got home.
