Magical Express 7am flight, what happens?

I have to be at airport about 5am to catch 7am flight, what happens with Magical Express, when do we get boarding passes and what time should bus pick us up? Anyone know what to expect?

Depending on your airline, you may be able to get boarding passes and check in your luggage at the resort the day before. Some in our group were able to do that but I was not...I was flying Delta BUT the computer would not allow check in at the resort (probably because I had bought one way tickets on two diff. airlines and was flagged for add'l. screening?).

One of my friends had a 7 a.m. flight and they wanted her at the ME bus stop at OKW at 3:30 am!!! Be sure to take a good book(or a pillow!) with you to the airport!

They picked us up at 4:30 a.m. for a 7:30 a.m. flight.....she actually arrived late - at 4:45! It is early, but I vividly remember being on a Mears bus several years back that got us to the airport very, very late for our flights. It seemed to be a combination of traffic and a driver who seemed to be driving quite slowly. Happily, my flight had been delayed because of weather (and I had no luggage to check), but I know other folks missed their flights. I for one would much rather have time to spare, even if it is dawn!

There "are no participating airlines" that early so everyone needs to bring baggage to the ME bus. The resort checkout airline check in baggage check stand does not open until 5 AM, after your scheduled ME bus leaves for the airport. Since that check stand closes at 2 PM it is usually not practical to check baggage the day before, if they let you.

In early Dec I had a return home flight at 7 a.m. also. But, I finally changed it because I just couldn't bring myself to get up that early in order to leave WDW. I also wouldn't have been able to get my luggage sent ahead or get my boarding passes. The DME desk doesn't open until 5, at any resort. So, if you are being picked up at 4:30 or so, you will have to carry your own bags and check your stuff at the airport.
Now, when we were at Pop over the summer, we were able to get our boarding passes printed off at 2 a.m. when we returned from an EMH night. But, we were flying SW and they are a bit different.

Flight in morning will save us $400 so it's worth it and kids have school same day so at least they'll get part of school day with early flight.

We'll get hotel close to airport instead I think. thanks for replies!!
