what channel was that on? I never heard of them leaving anyone on the ship before the crew left though. Crazy!!:scared1:

It was on NBC, and I was wrong on the name...Oceanos., a greek ship. I believe there is a direct link to the documentary, if you google it, you can probably find it. Really scary stuff.

Won't keep us from sailing but

:wave2:Hey everyone! Kind of quiet here...think we need a picture to keep us motivated! Anyone?

How about for you veterans telling us your favorite excursions? To help us newbies decide on what we want to try? Any suggestions? Besides the airplane ducking on one of the ports.:scared1: Sorry, with hubby being an air traffic controller, don't think I could stand it....

Here's a picture of the interior of the Magic:

One more! I just made this picture my background on the computer! My happy place:

The view of the Magic from the Family Beach on CC

IMG_3465.jpg

Dan, I have to ask. Was it really crowded? For some reason this shot reminds me of the beach where you have to run find a chair to have something to sit on before the crowds beat you to it. Tell me it's not so! For some reason, I thought it would be a little 'less crowded'. But still enjoyable and fun? Love being able to see the ship of course, but I do hope the Dream doesn't join us on CC...I think it looks like it'd be packed if so!

CC will not feel crowded at all while we are there. The island is now configured for the Dream class ships with 4,000 guests. The Magic has a capacity of 2,400 guests. I can tell from experience of cruising in October that our cruise will be only 2,000 at best. You can tell that our cruise is not selling that well due to we are 7 months out and all categories of staterooms are open and the big clue is main dining is available. I have had cruises were main dining was booked a year and a half out. :scared1: There are lots of chairs and umbrellas on CC (see below) and you do not have to rush to get off the ship to get one. The only "crowded" spots will be where the trams drop people off. I have never figured out why people do not walk 50 yards down the beach where no one is? :confused3 We will be at the end of the first area of the family beach by the Heads Up bar.
Also CC can only dock one ship so the Dream will not be docking with us.
The map below is from before the new changes so you are missing pelican plunge and the extension of the family beach to where the teen beach was. Also the new cabanas at the end are missing.

:thumbsup2 Thanks! That made me feel so much better! I had envisioned a crowded beach much like the Destin beaches during 4th of July. :scared1:..and is the Pelican Plunge down near the HU Bar also? I have a feeling the FIL will want to be as close to the bar as possible so betcha we'll be headed that way too!

It is funny isn't it? How people always get off at the first stop or get in line to the right or line up for the first thing instead of looking past to see what's open? We always head to the left at WDW or walk past people at the water parks, so I'm guessing that's what we'll do here. But thanks for the Heads Up on everything...this really helps us as I had NO idea where to go when we get off the ship. And I love the pic..makes it really look serene and quiet! Maybe no one will get off the ship besides our meet?:goodvibes

Pelican Plunge is right next to the Heads Up bar (see pic below where you can see pelican plunge in the background of the heads up bar). I also found a more recent map of CC and pic of area where we hang up (that is not crowded at all)

Ahhhh...these are great! I guess to get a Diet Coke on the island you pay at the Heads Up Bar right? Can you get a DC at the restaurants? You may not even know, but some of us are water/Diet Coke junkies:rotfl:!

Nope. They have free sodas at Cookies and Cookies Too. Also at the Air BBQ

:rolleyes1 Another question from this newbie to all of you veterans...

I booked our rental car out of PC on the day of disembarkation, but when it asked me for a time, I put down 9:45. On the boards I read where they really want you off the ship by 9:30, so is 9:45 ok for the rental? I realize we'll have to grab the shuttle, but thought 10 might be too late. Does this sound like what you do?

Is the Cookies too by Serenity Bay? don't they have food over there? Also where is the parasailing done at? I didn't see anything about it on the sign?:confused3

Loving the pictures and all the helpful information. For those of you who have done the character breakfast, is it assigned like the dinner rotations? We are trying to plan shore excursions and don't want any conflict since I know my 5 year old will not want to miss it. I'm guessing that it will either be early or only on the days at sea right? Thanks!
