Magic In Paradise: 10/8-10/15 2011 All cruisers check in here

Yeah, I loved your pics. We did this on our last cruise as well and had a nice time.

We will do it either the first or the second sea day. I think that is the plan at least.

I can't believe it? I thought you could buy bottles of liquor at the airport but I just read that you can't. My plan was to buy some there to take on the ship. If we are staying at the Hyatt at the airport and taking Disney transportation then we won't be able to buy any. I thought about taking a cab from the airport to a nearby store but was told it was around $20 to just go a mile & back? crazy! Oh well, I guess we will just wait for the first port. I think I may try to pack one bottle in our suitcase really well since we will have our luggage in our room that night and can take it out. Has anyone ever had this issue? What did you do?

Is It FRIDAY yet? I can't wait for this one to be over...we are under so many tornado warnings and watches it's ridiculous! We're 'out' right now, but it is nerve wracking...COME on October! Memphis area gets scary this time of year!

The weather is getting scary here in Lis Angeles. There is a possability of snow in parts of the city tomorrow night. Really, snow in L.A. Things are getting scary.

Yes it is that cold. Not the part I live in but they say anything with a 500+ elevation may get snow. That means it could snow in Malibu, on the top of some Downtown buildings, the valleys. It is weird.

The pic was taken from Paradise Point in St Thomas (which you have to take the skyride to get to). Sorry but you have to wait another 225 days to board the Magic.

Got a 'planning' question y'all...

For a week, how much luggage do you take? I'm trying to decide whether I need to go ahead and buy one more medium size or not. I figure if everyone carries a carry-on, then maybe the adults could share one to check? Which would mean 7 carry-ons, and about 4 medium suitcases (I don't do the super big ones anymore due to weight limits). Does that sound right for you veterans? Or is that too much? 6 adults, 1- 12 yr old.
What do you do?

As for luggage, try not to over pack since you have to carry it around. There are washing machines and dryers on the Magic. We take 2 27inch tall bags and one small bag along with some carry ons for 2A2C. If you plan on doing some souvenir shopping make sure you leave some room when you pack.

Thanks, that's kind of what I'm thinking. Our med bags are about 27-30, not any bigger, but bigger than carry-ons. I think everyone will carry-on one, and my 12 will def have her backpack, so I'm hoping NOT to look like the Clampets getting off the plane! And yet, don't really want to wash on my vacation either! Your plan sounds about like ours, but my older kids are now adults, so they take up a little more space. My son though, packs very lightly (when he went to China, carried a backpack and carry-on for a week), and my dd went to Poland and learned her lesson well when her suitcase strap broke and had to carry that huge thing around. So hopefully, it'll be a plan...Gee~ just might have to go shopping for another medium
