Here's a picture of Nassau where my friend is. She said they intermittantly lost power on a cell, wind was high, but everyone is fine.

So here's hoping comes y'alls way...and not huge winds and rain!

So, they are one hour ahead of us. I heard on the boards yesterday that they were leaving at 4pm. Guess that didn't happen? And my next question was gonna be, how would they have let folks know to arrive an hour earlier this short of notice? Isn't it that you have to be aboard by 3pm anyway? Just curious as to how that one would've worked...

That is true! Since I am right next door to Maureen though, I will be right there every time she leaves her room with a Mickey bar in hand.

I guess that is why they have the onboard time so early..so that if they have to leave earlier than scheduled, everyone is supposed to already be on board by then?

Were in 6069, just can't wait! And our daughter is still in State College. I also have a son at Drexel! School doesn't start for a while, but his season already started, and he has a game tomorrow night at 7pm.

Please tell her to stay at PSU. Your DS be just fine tomorrow. The storm will not really start until Saturday afternoon. DW has to work (NICU nurse) Saturday 3-11pm so I am hoping she makes it home before the real wind and rain starts which should be late into Saturday night into Sunday.

Here's hoping, praying and crossing fingers that it won't be 'as bad' as they're forecasting! My friend is in Nassau, and all they had was a little 'seapage' under the doors, and of course, had to stay in, but they were fine. So, we're hoping down here that y'all on the east coast will get some kind of reprieve!

Thanks we're going to need it. Those pics from Nassua do look like fun. We'll just hunker down and hope the power does not go out. Hope everyone else in Irene's path stays safe.

Well after looking at the latest Irene tracking, I better pack my bag. I have a feeling that I will be moved from Stand By to Deployed very soon. Were I go I have no clue but I am there so our local station employees can tend to their families and homes and I am happy to help. To all that ate now potentulay in harms way, I hope you stay safe and are prepared.

Hope everyone in the path of the storm will be safe. Going through the recent tornados is something I will never forget it.Be prepared. Make sure cars have gas,get cash,flashlights,batteries,radio. Propane for gas grill ( we used this to cook) we didnt have electric for 8 days! Sending that it goes out to sea!!

Whew! That 43 days can't come soon enough huh guys? So sorry for all the east coast folks...having to get ready to 'get ready' can be tough! After what happened down here, hope everyone is ready to evacuate and take care! (You can always come see Elvis'; they say he's around here somewhere) And then you're always welcome here, we'll put you up with the rabbit, fish, cats and the whole clan!

And won't we ALL be ready for those MICKEY bars...ASAP!!!

I hope everyone makes it through this weekend safe and sound.

I can't believe how stupid some people are though. I saw where all those people were on the pier and a wave washed over them and 8 people got hurt. Duh? They had already said to stay away from the water. Don't even get me started on the surfers either. Those are the kind of people who get hurt and then put rescue people in harms way who have to help them who also end up getting hurt.

We live east of MCO but he's based in BWI. Supposed to overnight in RDU tonight (storm hits east of there tomorrow am) and end trip in BWI Sunday evening (can we say 'doubtful'). We laughed & said I might have another 'singles' night this week.

Ah we are family. A friend of mine in Vegas got called to Hartford. He goes Sunday. I am just waiting, if I don't go anywhere then my Double shift on Sunday.

Got up to rehoboth last nght. Made it to Ocean City about 8pm just as the radio was telling us that it would close at midnight. Finished prepping the house here as much as it can be.

Rehoboth Beach evacuated today, we are a little ways off the island itself near the outlets, technically we're supposed to evacuate, but there is no place to go and we are pretty well away from water, so its the basic hurricane we have to worry about now.

Not the weekend we planned, but its ok, because all of my family(at least those who give a damn) is all together. Its better this way.

Checked the wecam link for pc. Looks clear as a bell now, I'm guessing that Irene has already been through since FB says outer bands are now reaching the Carolinas.

Will be back when I can.
