Magic In Paradise: 10/8-10/15 2011. All cruisers check in here. (#2)

Got up to rehoboth last nght. Made it to Ocean City about 8pm just as the radio was telling us that it would close at midnight. Finished prepping the house here as much as it can be.

Rehoboth Beach evacuated today, we are a little ways off the island itself near the outlets, technically we're supposed to evacuate, but there is no place to go and we are pretty well away from water, so its the basic hurricane we have to worry about now.

Not the weekend we planned, but its ok, because all of my family(at least those who give a damn) is all together. Its better this way.

Checked the wecam link for pc. Looks clear as a bell now, I'm guessing that Irene has already been through since FB says outer bands are now reaching the Carolinas.

Will be back when I can.

Here are some pixiedust: that you all ride this out unharmed or have any major damage. It is good that you are all together too.

Stay safe Maureen!:thumbsup2 You and your family stay bunkered down and maybe it'll pass by quickly! Praying that all will be ok!:)

St

just finished putting away all the loose items in the yard and now just waiting for the rain and winds. It is not supposed to hit here until tomorrow night. Maureen will see it first down in Rohobeth. Take care Maureen. I'll be a few hours behind her. I am more inland so it will not be as bad here. Hope the power stays up or only goes down for a short period of time. We'll just keep thinking 43 days to the Magic. :cool1::cool1:

List of forces of nature trying to stop our wedding:

Tornado - Check
100 year flood wiping out our reception venue - check
Cancer scare - check (and I'm OK)
Earthquake - check
Hurricane - check!

I really need a konk kooler!

OK, guys, only thing left is an approaching asteroid and volcano eruption. No volcano's here, so I think we're OK. After those, we're good to go on our cruise!

HAH!!

My list is just about the same minus the recption venue because I've already gotten married:rolleyes1

The only change for my own list would be a favorite aunt being rushed o the hospital as we were driving up on thursdsay night:sad2: She's better now, but shje's older and has had issues for some time now and I hope that she is NOT coming home this time. Needs a nursing home really.

Anyway, its a little b4 9am here and I'm awake, so I'm chcking in. Outer bands are here. Raining pretty good but doesn't look too windy yet. Still talking Cat.1. Not as bad as we thought it would be but still packs a good punch. Supposed to be worse tomorrow.

Fox news says the winds are starting to pick up on Ocean City, MD. so we'll see that in a few hours probably.

Back later maybe.

Everybody have a good/safe weekend

Good morning fellow cruisers.

It's 10am here in northern Delaware and it is still quiet. I guess this is the quiet before the storm. The rain are not supposed to start for a few hours.

Everyone stay safe. :grouphug:

NOTHING is going to stop us all from getting on that boat!!!!!! Not earthquakes or hurricanes or anything else will stand in our way!! It will be a refreshing relief to celebrate that we made it through all that nature and life has thrown at us. :cheer2:

So break out the konk coolers, mickey bars, and sunglasses cuz we are ready to PARTY!!!!! :woohoo:

By the way, it looks like Irene is closing in on PA now. It started to get breezy about an hour ago and now it is starting to sprinkle. At least we are only getting the weakened version of the storm even though it is at category 1.

Those poor folks down south. :sad2: Hope everyone is all safe and sound. This weekend is the perfect time to work on FE gifts. :thumbsup2

Started to rain here for the last hour. Not bad yet but that is going to change.

Time to think of better times. I wonder of the CC "Palm Tree" survived?

I was reading on a thread started by someone who is on the Dream that CC lost roofs over bars and Cookies II had some damage and they were not going today as planed.

:sad1: I know this is really selfish of me, but I REALLY hope it is up and running by the time we are supposed to dock there. CC is my paradise!! And it is my sisters first cruise, so I want her to be able to experience it. I feel bad for those that miss out in getting there.

That being said, I am thinking of you all on the east coast this weekend, and hoping for Irene to be gentle! Stay safe and be smart everyone!!

One last thing . . . . . . Bring on the konk coolers and mickey bars!!!!!!! :goodvibes

When those of you on the East Coast get through Irene safe and sound with minimal property damage or no damage, we will have to celebrate as a group at CC with konk koolers and Mickey Bars. :grouphug:

DCL has 48 days to fix up CC. Hopefully they are done a lot sooner. popcorn::

Still just raining here. Not too bad yet.

I agree, bring on the konk coolers and Mickey bars. :cool1::cool1::banana::banana:

Hold on a sec. Were do you get a Mickey Bar at CC? I have been there 8 times and never have seen on there.
