Magic Christmas Cruise 2010 (Dec 18th - 29th) - PART II

I must admit, I actually prefer a not-full ship...

Me too! I think this is the first holiday cruise we have been on that was not full! I was worried a bit that they would split it up like they did the NYE trip. Glad it is still intact!

3princessmommy & Kitster - I know you have to link all the reservations and that could be an issue with the online reservation system. I will email the lady at DCL that I worked with in the past(haven't used her since 2007 so hopefully she is still there) and see what she suggests. Joann - when we did this before, we let DCL know which groups needed to be at tables together and let them handle the other ones. I'll let you guys know what I find out.

Hello all!!! Nick here, Meemous' son. Just saying hello and how excited we are to go on this cruise!!! Christmas in the water is gonna rock!!! Anyways, I did a request for the facebook group, and caught up on most stuff. Prolly gonna order some of the shirts and the teddy bears for the kids. I have a question though.. I'm starting my search on magnets for the doors for when we cruise..anyone have any links or ideas for Christmas ones?:woohoo:

Welcome to the thread Nick. I went to the cruise magnet thread on the main cruise board and looked through the photobucket or 4shared links from the designers. They have some great designs! Be prepared though, I spent hours looking through all the magnets!:upsidedow

We love The Amazing Race! So far this year, I really like the Doctors. The Shopping Network ladies are a hoot, too!

I like the Doctors and the Shopping Network ladies too. The funniest though are the tattoo couple(can't remember their names) - watching them run like crazy and not be able to find anything is so funny.:lmao: I'm actually surprised they didn't get eliminated first.

Thank you DVC4US!! Much appreciated. And no worries, this is why I asked WAAAAAY ahead of time, :thumbsup2. Thank you for the help, I'll start searching now.
:woohoo:

Why can I see this couple on JayWalking from the Leno show? (Hollywood Blvd. pea-brained idiots...that must be it :rotfl2:)

Not sure who mans the facebook helm but I just requested entry and I'm not sure you would recognize my real name.
So anyway...it was me. :)

I am also thinking of doing CC 5k my my older 2 ds. I think i read that kids can do it :confused3 They have been training and can runn it in 44 mins which i think is not bad. I love using the gym and looking out to sea while on the treadmill. The pools are not really for lengths. I also use the stairs when i can and walk after my meals.

It seemed on past cruises that every time I went to the gym, every treadmill and eliptical was taken - I guess we all go at the same time - around 9:30! Guess I will need to wake earlier to beat the rush. Deck 4 is a good option but gets old after a few loops. The CC 5k sounds like a great option - I had forgotten about that. On our first cruise, the weather was too rough to get into CC so we gave up after a few tries and had a day at sea.
:santa:

This is what our countdown clock says.. We count the day before as a vaca day ;)

So did I. In fact hubby is wondering if the door will HOLD all the magnets I have planned for these cruises :confused3

I totally know what you you mean Kitster. Everytime I showed my DD a magnet I liked she would roll her eyes:rolleyes:(must be a teenage thing;) ) and tell me we have enough magnets for the door. I'm like - you can never have enough!:thumbsup2 Of course I had to narrow them down a bit because I am making the magnets for 4 cabins.:scared1:

My dad was the funniest because he wanted to know where I bought the magnets from. They want them on their door again becasue it makes it eaiser to find the cabin.:magnify: I told him not to worry, I've got him covered!:thumbsup2

Lisa - what did you think about the DWTS results!

Sounds like we have a couple of teens talking on the teen thread. Maybe they will get a few more as time goes by.

If anyone is interested, I have a brand new navy blue Dcl linen dress in childs size xxl. We bought it for my daughter 2 years ago on the ship but it was too big so we saved it for the next cruise for her to wear. Of course, the next cruise we forgot it, and the cruise after that my daughter unpacked on the ship and left it in her navy blue luggage and we found it on the last day when we were packing to go home. So, the dress has been all over the world, but hasn't been worn. Now it's too small. I will bring it with us if anyone would like it. It has a little yellow in the front and has tie shoulder straps. Just let me know.

Hi Caryn,

Here's a little PD pixiedust: hoping you get your 1st choice for excursions. I saw the other day that there were some excursions full - although DCL may open some spots for the next group of cruisers. Would you like to know what is showing full right now? Let me know and I can look again and let you know.

I'll be happy to take care of things, if you would prefer. I already have an Excel Spreadsheet started for shore excursion times, so this would just add a sheet to it. HOWEVER, I don't want to step on anyone's toes :thumbsup2

No problem either way for me. :goodvibes

I don't have toes! :lmao::lmao:

Thank you, LeiLani

The main one I want is for 1 adult and 1 child on the Atlantis sub in Barbados, time does not matter. If we can get that, I can work around it for my turtle snorkle (hopefully) :-). If you can check, that would be super :)

I will post snippets here when I can, but looking for creole/bbq/island cuisine on our own at St. Maarten, Guadeloupe, and Martinique and have come up with some promising places popcorn:: My last judging for the season/year is this Saturday at the Jim Beam up in Kentucky. I am 2/3 towards my master bbq judge certification and will be crewing with a team in two weekends to go towards that. Should be fun, will be interesting. :thumbsup2

Cheers!

I found a couple magnet pages on Oriental Trading a couple years ago that the kids enjoyed - one was a tree to decorate all magnetic with decorations and little packages - also magnets - that was our tree decorating that year! I also found a nativity scene you could move the characters around - again, little magnets. I haven't looked for them - I think it was a package of 5 or 10 so we didn't use them all on our last two trips. That's as far as I have gotten with magnet planning this year! I have been in the process this last month of moving my office to my home so my organization skills are really being tested between getting computers and faster internet hooked up and transferring numbers! Hopefully by next week I will at least have some sense of order!
