Magic Bands are live on DME!

I am staying at Pop on a room only reservation starting August 17, and I was able to custimize my Magic Bands today. I am an AP (voucher) holder and I have NOT linked my tickets on the website, but it appears that if I do, I will be able to make FP+ selections.

The thing is, Pop is at the end of a split stay for us and I have 2 concerns:

(1) will my Magic Bands make it to me before we leave on August 10? If they don't, and arrive while we are away, how much will that mess up our tickets/reservations?

and

(2) If I link my AP voucher number, will that impact our ability to pull regular FP's on the first half of our trip? Or, heaven forbid, will that ACTIVATE my AP's now? It shouldn't, I know, but....

This is a similar issue for me. I am an AP (voucher) holder as well and have an offsite trip planned for November. I'm not activating until we arrive, but worry that FP+ will already be in use. Since Disney will not even know I have a trip planned (offsite), how will I access FP+ or customize magic bands for my APs unless I link them? But I have the same concerns about linking them and possibly having a negative impact. Not to even mention that a CM tried to link them for me a month ago and wasn't able to. Apparently, the green "exchange certificates" we received do not have the standard code/numbers or something???? He ended up just putting some generic code in my acct. to add annual passholder to my MDE profile so that I can see AP info.

We're going in October and are AP holders. We're also staying off-site as extended family members will be coming too. Has anyone in this situation (AP, off-site) been able to order a MB?

If it's RFID enabled, I'm not sure it will work in the current FP machines.

I'm excited for the roll out, but the complexities worry me!

It said this for me too. It also then said I have 2 days to do it myself or it will pick for us.

Also if you go into my disney experience and click on "my itinerary" under plan and manage it says select fastpass+ beginning August 18.

Well I'm not happy about that at all. We usually park hop, so there will be some advantages and huge disadvantages to the new system. I'm however REALLY not looking forward to being limited to 3 FP a day when we could easily get 5 or more on the old system. I just hope that my resort isn't selected for this test or whatever they are doing.

The next Guest test has started. Anyone staying at AKL contemp pop or yatch club from aug 2 - aug 25 is being invited to participate. During the change over until normal FP is gone everyone will still get a KTTW card that can access normal FP. Yes your MagicBand will be mailed to you.

I have been having such a hard time with DME! First everything showed up on the website but nothing on my mobile app, then it showed on my mobile app, then it only showed on the website again, and now I cant find anything anywhere! UGH! Any advice??

Hi everyone, we just managed to access the MDE website and it has the three of us down for My Magic Bands too! We have a booking for room tickets and dining staying at Yacht Club next month and did OLCI at 60 days out from our stay. Still not sure if this info is correct on the website or not, those bands sure look nifty, either way we cannot book any FP+ features just yet we may have to give it another fortnight and then try it.

My kids (and my husband and I, I admit!) are all techies and have been excited about these bands since the first blog post(and rumors before). Sounds like from the quote above your quote that YC has been picked but not BC which would explain why you can't access it.

I just noticed that we can pick Magic Bands, too, but only for the second part of our trip at AKL.

Does anyone know how far in advance they are mailed to us? We don't check into the AKL until August 19th, but we're leaving home 11 days before that. Would we get them in time?

I need to wait to customize until my daughter and husband are home to pick colors. Should I go ahead and do it, or will they arrive too late? Is there an option to pick them up once we arrive?

I have a trip booked in Mid-September which (67 days I think) and have the stuff there for linking ticket and Magic Bands, but since I have not checked in or received those items yet I can't actually do anything with the site.

This all popped up for me yesterday.

This seems like a much larger test that then last one. We are going in October. I am guessing if this test goes well it could be rolled out by then.

We're doing a triple split stay -- AOA, then YC, then GF. I can't access FP+ for the dates at AOA, but I can after check-in day at YC, and it appears to be allowing me to do it for the rest of the trip, even at GF.

I'm one who is not at all excited about FP+, but if we can still access the regular FP's like the last test did, I'm willing to try it out.

When I made my EP FP+ reservations, I was able to pick all headliners -- Soarin', Test Track, and Mission Space. It gave me Options A-D of time blocks to choose from, and one had the header, best match for your times.

Someone reported that for this test in Aug, they'd still be able to use FP- in addition. However, no source was given, so I wouldn't bank on it.

I guess we'll know for sure Aug 2.
